Another incredibly quick read from Sarah. If you thought she peeked back at Fangs, you were wrong.

This collection of pictures covers 15 different cryptids that range from recent (such as Siren Head and Slender Man) to the annals of time (being sirens and sleep paralysis demon). Don't know all 15 off the top of your head? There's a glossary of them all at the end which gives enough detail to help a reader realise why the bits within this book are funny, but omitting a lot of the scarier stuff.

My particular favourite was the Release the Kracken cartoon early on, but so many of these pick up known tropes and turn them around in a way that is funny.

Although they are not sequential, again like Fangs, there is certainly a story here of messy, shy, hopeful and vibing criptids, and the fact that they cannot make sense of us any more than we can make sense of them seems to be a central theme.

I’m very stingy with my 5 star reviews… but my gut is telling me that giving this adorable little comic book anything but top reviews would be an abomination.
I adored this book of mini comic pages that entail the day to day lives of cryptids all around the world. It was so charming and the art is absolutely adorable!! It actually made me laugh out loud at a few points which is very rare as i’m autistic and don’t really laugh at much of anything.
I will be recommending this book to anyone who wants a humour rec… and also anyone who looks like they love cryptids as much as i do.

I like Sarah Andersen's work, it's deceptively simple and hits the right kind of mix of humor and heart for me. Cryptid Club feels like a melding of her previous works. A dash of Sarah Scribbles format mixed with the supernatural elements found in Fangs. From a socially awkward Bigfoot's to the absolutely ridiculous Fresno Nightcrawlers, (which I learned all about from the helpful gallery in the back!) these are some very fun interpretations of the famous critters!

👽 Synopsis 👽

Enter the world of Cryptid Club, a look inside the adventures of elusive creatures ranging from Mothman to the Loch Ness Monster. This humorous new series celebrates the unique qualities that make cryptids so desperately sought after by mankind (to no avail). After all, it's what makes us different that also makes us beautiful.

👻 My Thoughts 👻

This was a short and sweet collection of comics following a group of misunderstood cryptids! I was so excited to read this one, because I'm a little bit of a cryptozoology geek. It took me a little while to figure out which character represented which cryptid, because Sarah Andersen's style is intentionally simple and vague. That being said, there are some absolute gems in this collection. The pieces featuring the sleep paralysis demon had me grinning.

While I didn't love this one as much as I loved the author's previous spooky comic collection, Fangs, this is still worth picking up if you're in the mood for a lighthearted seasonal read for the spooky season.

Adorable and great fun! Classic Sarah Andersen with a spooky twist.

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

I absolutely loved this. Bigfoot and the Kraken and all the other cryptids are just like us - insecure and seeking love and validation. A delightful and hilarious read perfect for introverts and Halloween lovers. I look forward to purchasing a print copy.

A cute collection of comics about your favorite cryptids. I love the comics with Bigfoot, the Aliens, Loch Ness, and the Ghosts. They made me giggle the most. I love Sarah's cartoons and I look forward to her next book.

I love these little graphics. They're so cute. Anyone who's a fan of cryptids will enjoy this. The drawings are good and it gave me a good little laugh, just like with Fangs. All around humorous little graphics that make you smile. ♡

I have a hard time dealing with change, including when an artist I love changes their style in some small way. I love Sarah Andersen’s relatable black-and-white comics and was hesitant about Cryptid Club because it was about this whole other topic and supposedly in color.

But it turned out I LOVED IT!!! I hope she will work with color more often in the future, it looks great with her style and really adds to the vibes.
And I should’ve known I would love the cryptid comics because I’m a sucker for all things spooky. But even if you’re not and this is the first time you’re hearing of cryptids, these comics are so well done and will definitely make you laugh. It has all the things we love about Sarah’s work: cute and laugh-out-loud funny, and now also a little bit spooky!

I especially loved everything to do with Mothman.

In my opinion, Sarah Andersen is one of the few comic artists who isn’t just strong in her art but also in her jokes and ‘stories’.

Very much recommended!

Being a lover of anything horror, I instantly requested this book on @netgalley as I saw that it's a depiction of the daily life of some popular dangerous monsters from different parts of the world.

This book proved me right in all ways. It was an easy read, the illustrations were all funny, and relatable, maintaining the creepy atmosphere.

It was an indigenous characterization of each monster's life along with their friends and the insecurities they must have with humans with a perceptive sense of humour. It kept me engaged till the very last page and not to forget I completed it only in one sitting.

This is my 4th graphic book of the month by @andrewsmcmeel and guess what, I can't get enough of them. If you love horror and humour served in a single dish, do read this book. I will get a paperback for myself too🙈

Thank you for this Arc.

Another adorable and funny comic collection by Andersen. She is an absolute auto-read/auto-buy author for me at this point. In this collection, Andersen takes her usual sense of humor found in the Sarah Scribbles collections and applies them to the cryptids we all know and love.

I have read every book that Sarah Anderson has released and I absolutely adore them all. This book is no exception. Funny, informative, and just well done. Each comic had me actually cackling. I’m just sad I read it as fast as I did. I also loved that she had little descriptions at the end of the book of all the Cryptids in the book. I’m HIGHLY recommend this and every single one of her other books if you haven’t read them. So good.

I love EVERYTHING that Sarah Andersen creates, and I'm so glad that there is now a body of work with her comics featuring all our favorite cryptids (Big Foot, Moth Man, Nessie, etc.). This collection is as funny as ever and will appeal to those who like spooky things and want to laugh!

This was super cute and silly. I really loved reading the comic section in the newspaper when I was little all the way until I was in my late teens. This book was a delightful little flashback for me and made my inner-child super happy. I was definitely cackling out loud and it was just the burst of joy I needed today!

Thank you so much to Sarah Andersen, Andrews McMeel Publishing, and NetGalley for this ARC:)

This is a fun and short read. Every page has a different mini funny and lighthearted comic, but all the mini stories and characters are connected.
I totally recommend this!

"Cryptid Club" is a super cute graphic novel comprised of silly comics about cryptids. I laughed a lot while reading this book and loved how short and sweet it was. I highly recommend it if you enjoy cryptids and want a short/funny read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 rounded up to 4 stars!

Spoilers ahead. I will not reveal anything big - most of the review vaguely alludes to plot, structure, and characters.

---

My review, like this book, will be fairly short. If you are a fan of Sarah Andersen, you will get exactly what you expect when you pick up this book. The comics are fun little vignettes that are overall unconnected to a larger plot or narrative. The art is cute, if a little too same-y to Andersen’s other work. But, hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! (Plus, let’s be real - Anderson has to put out a lot of content, so a style that allows speed is necessary!) Each cryptid does have its own distinct personality, which I thought was particularly impressive, considering we only see snapshots into their lives and relationships throughout the book.

Overall, I’m giving this three and a half stars out of five because there is not a whole lot of substance to the comics - but that doesn’t mean they’re not worth reading. This is the type of book to keep around and pick up when you need a quick smile. I definitely enjoyed it, but would have loved to see an overarching plot to the singular comics in this book.

Again, thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

I enjoy Sarah's Scribbles, so it was interesting to read a different type of work by the author. I found the whole book to be quite charming, and it made me smile. Some of the humor is more mature which means I would not recommend it to younger readers.

Too cute and funny. Sarah Anderson nailed it with this one. I need more cryptids ASAP please.
Thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for the ARC.

Adorably spooky! Perfect for fans of Sarah Scribbles and Fangs, combining the cute chunky drawing style with the horrors of slenderman, bigfoot and their ilk works perfectly
