I wanted to love this one because I am such a fan of the author's previous title Fangs. But the art is a different style (more simple), and I didn't enjoy the jokes as much. My favorites were the ghosts and Nessie. I would like a whole book of these ghosts! May be more appealing to those who are more into the other kinds of cryptids.

*I received an ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thanks for the free comic collection*

This was soooo sweet and I can't wait for spooky season! If you don't know Sarah Andersen yet, you should check her comics out. Cryptid Club is about little ghosts, monsters, and other supernatural creatures just trying to live their lives. The comics are short, sweet, and funny.

Can summer be over already???

Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for giving me access to an eARC of Sarah Anderson's Cryptid Club! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a super fun read. I loved getting to read a Sarah Anderson book in color since Sarah's Scribbles are usually in black and white. I loved seeing all these creepy creatures painted with loveable brushstrokes. Their strangeness is met with additional strangeness and all the creatures find self-love through their love and friendships for each other. Bigfoot tries to get a good picture for the internet. A siren tries to find romantic love. Extraterrestrials like cows. And all these lovable characters are best friends. This was a super sweet read. I was sad when I got to the end because I wanted more!

I also liked the glossary at the end because it provided some information on the origins of all the creatures in the book.

I love Sarah Andersen. Her drawings are great and her wit is silly and smart. Throw in a BigFoot and I'm in love.

This is just the cutest series of comics about cryptids. If you like Strange Planet, you'll love these. I am not even going to write a huge review. Just read this. It's adorable and hilarious and you need to see Fresno Nightcrawler wearing high heels, Nessie and her nervous sweating, Mothman literally losing his shit at every light source...I need about 600 sequels because this just may be my new favorite comic strip series.

Note: I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not compensated in any other fashion for the review and the opinions reflected below are entirely my own. Special thanks to the publisher and author for providing the copy.

There's something very charming about Sarah Anderson's art that never fails to put a smile on my face. It's humorous and light, and perfect reading for someone who wants something that's not quite the complete commitment of a graphic novel, The art is wholesome with Anderson's own twist on cryptids like the Fresno Nightcrawler, Slenderman, and Sleep Paralysis Demon that won me over from page one. Much like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster, I too struggle with getting a perfect picture taken of me that isn't blurry and out of focus; and it's those silly little mundanities that grab the reader and draw them more into wanting to know more about the secret lives of cryptids.

Super cute cryptid fun! I'll likely purchase this for friends who are into cryptids. I appreciated the inclusion of modern-day cryptids like Slenderman!

I love this book! I went from smiling to literally laughing out loud at times.
I was somewhat familiar with Sarah Andersen, but now I can say I'm definitely a fan.

I was *so excited* to see that this was on NetGalley, and even MORE excited when I was able to read it! I fell in love with Sarah Anderson's Cryptid Club on Instagram, and the fact that there is now a book is absolutely brilliant! (I love Sarah's art anyway, speaks to my soul.)

The interesting thing is that I don't really engage with cryptid media all that much - I don't know who some of these characters are, but Sarah's art and humour really make me connect with every single one. There were a couple of pages that didn't hit as much for me, but mostly this is a fantastic book with a lot of joy and kind of... found family? within its pages. Highly recommend!

This book is pure, wholesome joy wrapped in ooky spooky cuteness. Perfect for fans of cryptids and the supernatural who like to keep it cosy.

Another adorable and spooky comic-strip collection from Saran Andersen! I enjoyed the puns, insecurities, and jokes about each of the cryptids. I don't have much else to say besides that it was just a fun quick read. Definitely going to be picking this up for Halloween.

CW: Unless you're uncomfortable seeing cute depictions of creatures like ghosts, aliens, big foot, vampires, etc. then this is perfectly fine. It's kid-friendly fun and spooky Halloween vibes than anywhere near horror.

I adore Sarah Andersen. All of her work is clever and funny, and Cryptid Club is no exception. True to her style, Cryptid Club consists of comics about various cryptids living their everyday life.
This was so cute and funny. I highly recommend for anyone who enjoyed her previous work.

Sarah Andersen's work never fails. I always love her comics and this collection of the cryptid club comics is not an exception. My favourites had to be the Mothman ones where he goes crazy over light sources. It gets me every single time. I read this on a dreary rainy day, so I was feeling some autumnal vibes and this book definitely added my autumn/Halloween excitement! I needed a dose of adorable spoopiness today.

Thank you to Sarah Andersen, Andrews McMeel Publishing and Netgalley for the e-ARC of this book.

I'm an avid fan of the Cryptid Club already, but there were still quite a few comics in here that I hadn't read. This book is the perfect blend of wholesome dark humor and inside jokes mixed with super cute artwork of all these "scary" creatures. If you like Strange Planet or comics like that, this is for you.

A lovely little gem of a book. This collection of mini comics about cryptids is pure joy-- creepy, cutesie joy. Sarah Anderson's trademark adorable-weird drawings are full of humor and genuinely interesting information about a number of legendary creatures.

I’ve read everything the artist has done. This is the perfect marriage between Sarah’s scribbles and Fangs. Social (or anti-social) and internal monologues of Sarah Scribbles series and the supernatural bend of Fangs. Easy and fun to read. I’d recommend it all year round, but it would make a perfect Halloween gift for your new adult to millennial loved one.

Arc was provided by NetGalley. Thank you!

I've loved Sarah Andersen's artwork for a very long time, so I was delighted to be able to read this one straight away.

This series includes humorous sequences with well-known enigmatic characters including Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, Slender Man, ghosts, and aliens.

These comic strips were still lovely and funny to me. This would be the ideal gift for someone who enjoys cute things, has a quirky sense of humor, and is interested in cryptozoology and the paranormal.
