This is by far the best book of the series that I have read. I am a long time Phillippa Gregory fan and although I was a little apprehensive when she stopped writing historical fiction around the Tudor era, I am really impressed with how this new series has grown and evolved! I loved it and I cannot wait to read the next installment. I could not stop reading this book. I read it into the wee hours of the night literally every chance I got. The book is very engrossing and I love the characters and exciting storylines. I didn't want it to end! Thank you so much for letting me have the privilege of reading/reviewing this amazing book! When the time comes and I am allowed to write a more thorough review I will. I will definitely be recommending this book to all of my friends and on goodreads. Fantastic book!

The third in Philippa Gregory's sweeping epic Tidelands series, 'Dawnlands' does not disappoint! Filled with action, intrigue, and attention to historical detail, I was immersed in the English Civil War and the family's fate as it hangs in the balance. This novel takes you on a journey through England and to Barbados, and Ms. Gregory does a fine job with each setting. I am beginning to care very deeply for this family, as I have followed their story from the first two books, and I am excited where the author will take them next! Settle in for a great read when you start this novel, but I do recommend reading the first two, or you won't get the full effect of this one.

I have loved Phillipa Gregory since years ago when I read The Other Boleyn Girl, and this one was amazing also.

I've been a fan of Philippa Gregory since the Other Boleyn Girl, so when I saw the new book was available to request I had to request it. I really enjoyed this historical novel, I was hooked from beginning to end and enjoyed this book as much as other Ms. Gregory works. It still has what I enjoyed from Ms. Gregory's writing. This was a strong entry in the Fairmile series, and I enjoyed reading the entire series.

“We’re lost,” Mary Beatrice said simply. Now, at the moment of defeat, she was calm. “Argyll has landed and thousands of men have flocked to his standard. He is marching on Glasgow, and once he takes that town with our stores, and recruits the castle, they think he will march south, here, to London. He will march with our men and our arms, against us.”
