The Rebel Girls Handbook is a fun, easy to read book about extraordinary women in the past and present. The first section spotlights the region in which the women live. It is followed by a timeline of when the women fall into history and then an individual page for each women with some fun, interesting facts about them. The book was easy to read and the illustrations were amazing. It would be perfect for any preteen to learn about these amazing women.

A really bright and colorful book which is packed to the brim with diversity. It's lovely to see so many races, sexualities, sizes, shapes and religions in one book - it is inclusive of all and I think will do a lot for challenging stereotypes. I really loved the "your turn" sections with little activity suggestions - this would be really useful for teachers but also for creative children at home. As well as mini biographies about each woman, there's also timelines and map work which (again, from a teacher's perspective) opens up a lot of doors for lessons and discussions. I really like the use of the QR codes as that brings an interactive element which children will love. This is a great book although it is a little long - I can imagine it becoming a little 'samey' after a while and it takes some stamina to read the entire thing. I'd probably prefer to pick bits out of it to look at more closely if I was going to be reading this with a child.

Wow! Without a doubt the best book in this series so far. My favorite! Meeting strong women from all over the world is key to being inspired and having a path to follow.
In addition, the book has a unique and special design. I loved the timeline at the end and the way they brought in the women's information.

Another installment in the amazing series is the Rebel Girls, this is the series that I wish had been around when I was a child. I would have had stronger role models and ended up on a different path in life had it been for books like this. Instead, when I was younger it wasn't a thing and I was the type of girl who ended up with a bedroom wall covered in posters of musicians and celebrities. It's only now in my thirties that I look back and imagine how my life could have been different if I had role models that were inspirational females. We always heard that females could do anything, but it wasn't pushed or shown as much as it is these days with #bossbabes and #girlbosses and Rebel Girls. The Rebel Girls Handbook Features Rebel Girls from all over the world from every country imaginable in New Zealand we have Nancy Wake and Helen Clark and Dr. Siouxsie Wiles. The book includes over 300+ profiles of famous females from every generation and all walks of life/careers that have been spotlighted at one point of time in their book series. Each person comes with some fun facts like Florence Nightingale having a pet owl or the weightlifter Athena Urrutia was the inspiration behind the Encanto star Luisa. Also included are activities like how to make Invisible Ink or how to decode your codes just like Nancy Wake did in WW2 which earned her the nickname The White Mouse.
The Rebel Girls Handbook also includes QR codes that unlock the Rebel Girls App and hosts audiobooks and podcasts relating to the Rebel Girl profiled. The series is perfect for girls aged 10-15 years old.

So many women celebrated in this book. There is a hero to be found for everyone. I love that they start with geography and give a few small facts before diving into individual women and facts based on them. There are qr codes throughout the book so you can learn more about several featured women. I appreciate that there are women celebrated from all over the world and of every color, belief and orientation. I do wish there were more actual pictures featured throughout the book.

The Rebel Girls Handbook is a bit different than the other Rebel Girls books I read before but I still really enjoyed it!

I liked that in the beginning was a little guide how to use this book. The book is devided into different parts and want to integrate the reader into the "story".

For me it was really interesting to see where all the different people were born/living. I already knew a few girls from the previous books but it was still a lot of fun to read!

I am a huge fan of the different drawing styles and that a lot of different people were involved in this work.

I think this is my favourite Rebel Girls book I read so far! The information had the perfect length and were really interesting to read.

This latest installment in the Rebel Girls series is packed with eye catching images and facts about amazing women across the world and throughout history. It is everything that we have come to expect from Rebel Girls.

I love The Rebel Girls collection! This new handbook is full of colorful illustrations, lots of facts and tidbits, as well as prompts for activities. This book is broken into three sections: Rebel Girls Around the World (with maps), Rebel Girls Throughout History (a timeline), and Meet the Rebels. The latter section has a mini fact page that includes the superpower of each rebel rather than a full story as in previous Rebel Girls books. Sections marked “Your Turn” encourage readers to reflect and engage in order to explore their own goals. I love that this handbook is diverse and inclusive which allows the readers to see themselves in the pages. The Rebel Girls Handbook is an excellent interactive addition to the collection.

The Rebel Girls books are always a favorite of mine. I love the message but the level of inclusion in the books is great. The handbook is a wonderful addition to the collect. The brightness of the pages makes this book fun to read but the stories are what make it great. I love that history and geography are also included which makes this book a staple for a library.

I am a big fan of the Rebel Girls series and think it is great that this series exist. This is a serie that I would have loved to read when I was a child and as a mother to a daughter I look forward reading this one if it ever gets published in Swedish.

My excitement about this book was at a 10. I love a having any book around that a child could read and think "hey if she invented computer coding before computer existed imagine what I can do "

I was a bit worried due to the lack of information on the map, but I'm glad I trusted the journey. The time line was inspiring, then theo spotlight on each woman / girl was really well done. Adding fun facts that made them more human and relatable along with their accomplishments was a very nice touch. The only gripe I have would be the code did not work with my cell phone but it could just be the lack of battery power it's a android google 4.

Rebel Girls has developed another great book of inspirational girls and women.

This book is set up differently and features more females than in books past (that I've read). There is a section highlighting females in specific countries such as Poland, Australia, Kenya, and Columbia. There is a timeline highlighting more females from each era/decade from as early as Cleopatra.

Instead of stories this book features a few facts for each female mentioned along with their superpower. Some feature a QR code that will link to more information.

A great read. I shared this with my daughter who is 6 with us dipping in and out of it at bedtimes, we had some great discussions based on things that came up in the book. The factfiles are interesting, with such a wide range or women to inspire the next generation. Really educational and interesting.

From the onset, this book looks to be for a younger audience than the original Good Night Stories (GNS) books. I figured this out since the biography entries are written in bullet points as opposed to the multiple paragraphs in the GNS books. Also, there is a handy How to Read This Book at the beginning before the real content starts.

Since this is for a younger audience, I think caretakers (parents, teachers, etc.) may want to do more background research on a woman if their child is more interested in them. For example, Artemisia Gentileschi was raped by her tutor and this ISN’T mentioned in this book (rightfully so), but maybe a topic of conversation if your child looks her up on Wikipedia. Another example is Malala Yousafzai who survived an assassination attempt that’s also NOT mentioned in this book but would definitely be mentioned everywhere your child may look up. It’s more of a precaution than a warning.

I loved that the girls and women mentioned were more diverse than I’ve read in any other books. There are gay and trans women mentioned as well as Romani (I counted one but that’s an improvement over none), several Indigenous women, and a few disabled women. I loved seeing this since I haven’t really seen a large scope of participants before.

There are some repeat entries from the GNS books, but there are a lot more women I didn’t know at all. Even then, there were some women I knew but hadn’t seen in previous books like this, such as Octavia Butler.

The format of the entries are 1 page for a majority of the entries and a few had a two-page format in which an activity was mentioned to make the book more interactive.

Like the other Rebel Girls books, I really enjoyed this one and I think it’s a great starting point for the book series.

Love this. A tour around the world, then through history, then a huge amount of rebel girl fact files. Feels like a great next step for children who started with ‘Stories for Rebel Girls’ as bedtime stories and are now ready to move on.

This is an incredible book I must read for a little girls to women about women who have made a difference in the world. I love the way the book is set up with each individual part and region telling about those women from that region it has lots of interesting facts about these women

The Rebel Girls Handbook is another edition of extraordinary girls and women to be highlighted as role models for their excellent examples. These girls and women have made extraordinary strides with their achievements and should be recorded in a handbook such as this one.

This colorful, engaging book provides an introduction to 300-plus notable women throughout history, along with a few facts about each of them and what they've accomplished. I'd suggest gifting this book to a young girl along with a packet of Post-It page markers. Encourage the girl to enjoy the book, and to place a page marker next to the women she'd really like to learn more about.

The strength of The Rebel Girls Handbook is how it tackles "you can't know what you don't know" syndrome. Most young girls are aware of the poet Amanda Gorman, as she's young and contemporary, but have they learned about Bessie Coleman, the first African American and Native American woman to get a pilot's license, back in 1921? Do they know that Joan Jett, rock icon of the 80s, was turned away 23 times by record companies before deciding to start her own indie label?

Armed with a Post-It marked copy of the Handbook, a young rebel reader can scour the library and the internet to learn more about these women - or engage in meaningful conversations about them with older friends and family. This is why I call books of this type "jumping off" books. They provide the introduction - you take what interests you and run with it.

Three stars for content plus two stars for providing helpful inspiration equals five stars!
