My Review: It’s a bitter sweet last visit to Hedgehog Hollow for Christmas. I mean, who wants to say goodbye to the awesome series? I don’t. This visit allows us to reconnect with Samantha and the gang and explore pregancies, births, happiness, sadness, fun and a rainbow of emotional highs and lows. Jessica never shies away from gritty strands either, occasional deep breaths and strong exhales may be needed. I don’t want to give anything away. Loved the Audible of this book too. The narrators are fabulous. You can’t help but fall in love with Hedgehog Hollow over and over again. Thank you. x

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Another book set in hedgehog hollow where Samantha and Josh run a rescue centre. Samantha and Josh are expecting there first baby at Christmas and try to plan off how they can continue to run the rescue centre whilst looking after a new baby.

Fizz who works at the rescue centre has to deal with things that have happened in the past and she finally realises with the help of Darcie (Phoebe’s little sister) that Phoebe is her happy ever after.

What a brilliant end to this series.

Did the finale of the Hedgehog Hollow series live up to expectations? Of course!

Heartbreak and tears, triumphs and romance. And hedgehogs! Don’t be fooled by the gorgeously cute covers – these books have some really emotional and hard-hitting storylines.

So much has happened in the life of Hedgehog Hollow. The family has grown and relationships have developed.

As well as Sam and Josh, this book focuses on Fizz’s story. Her relationship with her girlfriend doesn’t seem to be working and she is unsure whether it can be fixed. As she plans for the future it soon becomes clear that she is going to have to confront her past. Some devastating family secrets are revealed.

What I lived about this book is seeing how far Sam’s relationships with Chloe and her mother have come since the first book. There is now so much love and warmth and Sam’s patience has really paid off, showing that second, sometimes even third, chances can pay off.

There are some really touching moments throughout the book. Terry will have you tears and Phoebe and Darcie will fill you with joy.

The hedgehogs have not been forgotten and there are some new prickly friends to win your hearts.

This is a fantastic end to the series and I have really enjoyed the sagas of Hedgehog Hollow, the friendships and community.

The story was just gorgeous, all the storylines were brought together, and the whole book had such a warm and cosy Christmas feel even with the tougher storylines. Sam and Fizz had beautiful but hard storylines but as usual Jessica wrote them with sensitivity and strength. There was a little tease at the end that suggested we may hear another untold story so all is not over. Thank goodness as I would have been gutted if we had seen the very last of the characters from Hedgehog Hollow!
What a fitting way to end such a fabulous series!

I have given this 3 stars.

When I requested this story I didn't realise it was part of a series and although it has a handy little character index, I still couldn't get into it. Which is a but of a shame because it really is a cute, Christmas story.

Sappy.

Another book by Jessica Redland that has no real conflict in it.

Fizz has a big secret from her childhood, but once she tells her family about it, the weight of it slides off her and she can focus her attention on her soon to be love of her life.

The lightness with which heavy topics were dealt with just doesn't seem to do these topics justice.

I guess I'm just not cut out for this sort of feel-good novel.

I was super excited to pick this book up as I've absolutely loved the Hedgehog Hollow series. Jessica Redland is one of my favourite authors to pick up and lose myself in.

Filled with drama from the offset, I was soon totally oblivious to the world around me as I just kept reading about the drama surrounding those at Hedgehog Hollow.

This story does contain potentially triggering subjects, which were sensitively handled throughout. I highly recommend grabbing a copy so you can see how the final trip to Hedgehog Hollow pans out for all of its wonderful residents and what beats a story set at my favourite time of year

Christmas Miracles at Hedgehog Hollow is the final installment in the Hedgehog Hollow series and oh my, am I going to miss Sam, Josh and the gang!! I cried buckets especially at "robin's appear when loved ones are near" as that is what I think about when I remember my grandmother! A brilliant ending to a fabulous series, featuring families and their issues, hedgehogs and other animals and a close knit community all coming together at important times.

Fabulous finale. Jessica Redland really delivered. Only recently found this series and fantastic author, so sad it's come to an end. Read it you won't regret it!

This book had it all: love, laughter and tears. It was a fantastic end to a fabulous series and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this read. It was hard not to race through it, knowing there isn’t another book on the horizon, but I just couldn’t stop myself getting engrossed with Sam, Fizz and everyone at Hedgehog Hollow.

If you haven’t read any of my reviews of this series then look away now! This is best enjoyed after reading the previous books otherwise you will find yourself scratching your head with some of the references to other stories. And even though the Big Day is still many weeks away, this book does not feel totally full of Christmas. The novel begins in autumn and actually, it’s only the final quarter where the Christmas countdown truly begins: so no need to feel guilty at reading this in the middle of summer!

There is closure in this book for many characters and I think this added to the satisfaction of the story. For starters, we follow Sam as she is in the throes of pregnancy. Her story particularly resonated with me and even before I had read the closing authorial note, I sensed that Redland was writing from experience. It felt so real and palpable, with Sam’s fears seeming more than just a fictional character’s worries. Like the other books, there is also a secondary character whom we closely follow. This time it is lovable Fizz and I enjoyed the contrast established between her and Sam’s stories. I had always thought Fizz was a peripheral character and was delighted to see her being the focus.

Themes that Redland included in this narrative added to the overall emotion of the story. Fizz’s story was interesting to observe and I appreciated how strong her character became over the narrative. Whilst fraught with sadness and tragedy, I was rooting for her to find happiness and relief. Seeing the juxtaposition between her and Sam made Fizz’s story even more poignant and I was invested in both characters to have their own happy ever after.

Of course, this book wouldn’t be the same without the hedgehogs! They are as delightful and cuddly as ever, with the rescue centre having expanded to shelter other wounded animals too. I especially liked the badgers in this story and was chuckling over the Gladiator references. Like the characters, I could vividly picture the ‘army’ in progression!

This book was so well-written. I think it was one of my favourites of the series (although that is a tough decision, to say the least). The final few pages gave me such goose bumps, initially caused by Redland’s references to the other novel titles in the series. It was such a fitting emotion to feel with a read that made me sad, happy and optimistic as well. The satellite characters are just as lovable as Sam and I delighted in the hedgehog community that has developed. A close relationship held by all was so endearing and I don’t think I will forget the robin scene in a hurry.

Redland has rapidly become one of my favourite authors and I am already excited to see what this writer releases next. As for the hedgehogs, it is goodbye for now my prickly friends and I hope you and Snoop Hoggy Hog make an appearance at a later date…

With thanks to Boldwood books, NetGalley and Rachel’s Random Resources for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I'm gutted the series has come to an end, but this was one of the best ending books I've ever come across. Full of drama, emotion, more animals than just hedgehogs (time has moved on since the end of book 5), joy and heartache, this book grabs your attention from the first few pages, and doesn't let it go at any point. It's fantastic.

This is the sixth and final book in the Hedgehog Hollow series and I’d strongly recommend reading the series in order, as you get to know the characters and their backstories throughout the books. At the start of this novel, there’s a helpful guide to who’s who in the series, to refresh your memory, plus a ‘The Story So Far’ section.
This book is set a year after Book Five. It’s October, it’s Samantha’s 32nd birthday and their first baby is due in twelve weeks! Hedgehog Hollow has expanded to become a Wildlife Rescue Centre, able to look after more than just hedgehogs and Fizz, at 28, has begun her dream job there as a full-time veterinary nurse. She is still in a relationship with Yasmin, though they really don’t seem well-suited. The chapters are written from Samantha and Fizz’s viewpoints.
I’m not going to tell you any more about the plot, because you’ll enjoy learning it from the pages of this superb book. There are the twists and turns you would expect, as this is not going to be an easy ride towards a Happy Ever After sign. Like in real life, things happen to set you back, but you keep going.
There is a misconception that many romance/romcom/women’s fiction books are light and fluffy, somehow disposable or inferior to other genres. This is absolute rubbish, of course. These books show real life - we deal with families, relationships, birth, marriage, death, financial struggles and so on – real issues, big and small. In this book, there is a storyline about abuse, which is perfectly handled. Jessica Redland is one of the best at combining serious issues and lighter moments seamlessly.
To us loyal readers, Hedgehog Hollow is real. I can picture where everything is, what it looks like and I feel I know all the characters as if they were real people. Jessica Redland is one of my favourite authors, she writes in such a warm and authentic way. You care about the characters and want to follow their stories throughout the series.
As with every book, I find myself learning more about hedgehogs, which is always a delight as they are amongst my favourite animals. (And I loved Debbie Harry!) Since Chloe and Lauren opened Crafty Hollow, I can also get my sewing fix along with my hedgehog fix in the book and I’d love to be able to sign up for the craft workshops!
Overall, I’ll always recommend a Jessica Redland book. Her writing style is so natural and a real delight. Her Hedgehog Hollow series has been such a joy, each book is like catching up with old friends over a cup of tea and maybe feeding a hoglet if you’re lucky. I’m sad the series has finished, but I’m also excited about her future books, as I’m sure they will be equally wonderful.

This was another great big hug of a book and what an emotional rollercoaster ride! I cried both happy and sad tears while reading and it really did not matter where I was. Not a pretty sight on the train I must admit! I have absolutely loved this series... so much so that my house and body are now decorated with hedgehogs!
This was definitely another alround 5 star read. Fizz was such a sweet and bubbly character, but it was heartbreaking what she had been through. It just goes to show, you can't judge a book by the cover!
All the characters in these books are so special and ones I think of long after finishing their stories.
I don't even think I can pick a favorite!

Journey to Yorkshire Wolds
Christmas Miracles at Hedgehog Hollow
Final Book-Hedgehog Hollow Series
by:Jessica Redland

Two words that I would use to describe Jessica Redlands' writing in her Hedgehog Hollow Series are compassion and community. Both are abundant in the final installment of her popular series, set in the Yorkshire Wolds. Centering around a hedgehog rescue center, the series goes deep into the lives of the people we get to know and love. This book centers around Sam, the owner and manager of the center, and Fizz, a veterinary nurse. As Christmas approaches, the happenings evoke both joy and pain, with celebratory life moments as well as the uncovering of past trauma. It's easy for readers to engage, with Redland's caring way of storytelling.

With family, friends, co-workers, and animals, even more than the hedgehogs, Redland brings together an eclectic, extensive cast of characters to Hedgehog Hollow. Sadly, there are a few evil ones who have brought pain to some of the beloved characters. She thoughtfully includes a list and brief description of people in the series to help keep track of their connections. I recommend the series in order to appreciate the joys of time spent in Hedgehog Hollow.

Thank you to Net Galley, Boldwood Books, and Rachel's Random Resources for an advance reader's copy and spot on the book tour. I am providing my unbiased review.

Thank you NetGalley, Jessica Redland and Boldwood Books for the copy of Christmas Miracles at Hedgehog Hollow. This is my personal review.
This is the 6th book in the Hedgehog Hollow series. After reading this book I am going to get the other books in the series so I can enjoy and feel the amazing stories in this series.
This story if focusing on Fizz and it is a wonderful story that gives me a everything I love in a book. It gave me so much a depth and so much more with how the author handled everything.

Tears of joy, sadness and of course happiness await you in this final instalment of the Hedgehog Hollow series.

Tears of joy and happiness as we see relationships blossom, babies being born and animals being rescued and healed, Tears of sadness at what Fizz had to endure in her past and the fact this series has come to a end.

Christmas Miracles at Hedgehog Hollow see's Fizz being the heart of this book and we have her wonderfully heart-breaking story to hear this time around. She is a wonderfully eclectic character with her wild hair colours and fun colourful clothes, but behind this façade she is holding onto a dark secret from her past, you know where the story is going and its heart breaking to read but it was also done in a respectful manner without it being graphic, the intention is there.

I loved everything about this story, and this series,  you can easily start this series with any book and fit right in at home with the many characters that Ms Redland introduces to you. You will love the hedgehogs, you will love that characters and most of all you will love the connection that they each have via friendship, love and family.

I am sad to see this series end by loved every minute of it and all the lose ends were tied up nicely. Really hope we don't lose track of these wonderful characters in the future but I am really excited to see where Ms Redland will take us next.

5 stars

Jessica Redland is one of my favourite authors and I have loved the Hedgehog Hollow series. This is book six and the last.

As expected, we have another fantastic book. This time the focus was on Fizz and Samantha. It was good to read Fizz's story albeit very disturbing and I feel Jessica handled it with the sensitivity she has with each of the difficult topics in her prior books. Sam and Josh have come through so much and it was lovely to see the outcome for them.

We have joy, sadness and drama and there were a few times I got a bit emotional. It's been lovely to see the characters developing over the series and pulling together to support one another, they almost feel like friends. I'm sorry that is the end of the series but glad that we may have the odd update about life at Hedgehog Hollow in forthcoming books.

Thank you @rachelsrandomresources, @bookandtonic and @Netgalley for my #gifted ARC copy.

I was and wasn't looking to this book, I was looking forward to it as I have loved the other 5 books and these characters, not looking forward as I didn't want it to end.

This sixth book was amazing, so emotional and covered some very sensitive topics, the characters are amazing and so well written, I have loved all of Jessica's books and have never been so happy to discover and author

I love, love, loved this so much, yes I’m so sad this amazing series has to come to an end, but it was a perfect end, just like the series, full of love, heart and plenty of emotions. There are hard times, the characters go through heartaches, hardships and disaster, but you know that’s life, the difference with reading these books is we know there’ll be a happy ending. But you don’t get a happy ending without having a few tears first. I always like the analogy how would we know what happiness is if we didn’t experience sadness.

So yes, I’m bidding a farewell to Hedgehog Hollow, but I’m not really sad because I know Jessica has so many new books and stories to come, stories that will keep me sane, cost me a fortune in tissues and make a bad day better. These books, they make a difference, speaking as someone who is posting this late for reasons I’m not going into, I fully appreciate the escape books like Jessica’s provide, that authors provide to their readers and the world. It’s a powerful gift and one to treasure, I can hand on heart say Jessica’s books have made a bad day better, I’ve related to her characters, I’ve shared experiences and her characters experiences have made me feel better, or given me hope. Every book and story I read and love means something to me, it makes a difference and I will never underestimate the gift authors, poets, any writers gift to the world.

I am thankful for Jessica’s books, long may she continue to brighten this little corner of my world and make me cry, laugh, smile, see the good in people/life and hope.

Thank you Jessica Redland, Boldwood Books, Rachel’s Random Resources for the opportunity to read and take part in the blog tour for this wonderful story, all opinions are my own and freely given.
