A fun read, something I found I've been missing. Well paced, kept me entertained without overwhelming.
I was really into this book in the begging which made me really excited because this was outside my usual generes, however about 40% through I started to skim way to much of the story. I felt that the plot was lacking and the prose of the story just wasn’t enough for me to continue.
Who’s perspective is this??
Feels like it wanted to be a d&d book and it has that vibe but meh execution
The end was the best part, makes me want a second, but the rest of the book was just alright, hence 3 stars
Driftwood Atlas by L. Bell is a fun quirky fantasy and just the deversion I needed right now.
With a wry and sarcastic sense of humour the characters move through the story and advance it quickly.
The blurb, "When an eternal traveler finally awakens, he does so in a world that has been shattered to ash. Creation has been stained by a crime, and while his jumbled memories provide no answers, a single note is left to guide him forward. "Let's drink, come find me." Doesn't do it justice...There is just so much more going on...
Thank yo to #NetGalley, #VictoryEditing, and L. Bell for the ARC of #DriftworldAtlas.
This was what I was looking for in the fantasy scifi genre, I loved the way the story started and was invested in what was going on in this world. The story was action packed and I really enjoyed this story. The characters were wonderfully done and I enjoyed getting to know them. It does what I was looking for in the first chapter of a series and am glad I read this. Can't wait to read more in this series.
"Where Alwera passed, everyone started to whisper in her wake or swarm her like fleas that had spotted a comfy fur. They begged for this and asked for that, but no matter how desperate they tried to appear, Alwera ignored all of them."
