A very interesting and engaging book. It sucked me in from the first chapter and I didn't want the book to end.

This is a very entertaining book. Douglas Eagle Greyeyes is a shapeshifter in the old West. Vanessa lives in the present. But when Douglas needs help fighting his mortal enemy Vanessa is transported back to west to help him.

This is what I've come to enjoy about the Wylder West series, it always has a great western feel to it and I enjoy the different characters and experiences. Pam Binder has a great way of writing a western with interesting characters. It was a really well done novel and I look forward to more in this series and from the author.

"Greyeyes stood stone still, fighting against the truth in his spirit brother’s words. For all the positive symbolism of the butterfly, it could also symbolize the dead or that death was on the march. The legends of his people, and their spirit animals, were rich with meaning and prediction, and left many avenues open to interpretation."
