This is book 2 in the Mountain Lodge Mystery series. Misty has the Lodge up and running and is excited to welcome the Dangerous Curves Motorcycle club for a weekend. The ladies have taken over all the rooms and are a fun group of women. When their leader is found dead the local police think it might have just been a motorcycle accident but Misty isn't so sure. Rocky and Brynn are back to help solve the case. A good cozy with lots of suspects.

When the ladies of the Dangerous Curves Motorcycle Club take over the Mountaintop Lodge for their annual autumn ride along the Blue Ridge Parkway, Misty Murphy couldn’t be more thrilled. But, when one of the riders is killed in a freak accident, Misty thinks that something else could’ve happened. Can she find the truth before another rider gets hurt?

This was a great cozy mystery. It kept my interest all the way through with wonderful characters and an intriguing plot. I also liked the romantic subplot; it was a good break from the intense main plot. I will definitely read more from this series. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for this advanced reader’s copy. This review is my unbiased opinion.

I know plenty of people will like this cozy mystery but, for me, it had way too much description of the clues, characters, and day to day events (like Misty cleaning the rooms of the lodge). The characters were likeable and there was a good story line, just too much description of the mundane.

This was a beautiful atmospheric cozy mystery. The author described the Blue Ridge Mountains so well. I liked the plot and the characters. I look forward to the next installment.
Many thanks to St. Martin’s Press and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Misty Murphy is having great success at the Mountaintop Lodge with her latest bookings being the ladies of the Dangerous Curves Motorcycle Club. This fascinating group of women invite Misty and her assistant on a fall ride with them. After a gorgeous ride, one of the woman fails to show up at the designated lookout point. After searching, she is found on the side of the road with her bike wreaked in what could be either an accident or murder.

I absolutely loved the second installment of this mystery series. Cozy, fun and chock full of quirky characters. It is an intriguing read that will have you guessing who did it to the very end!

I want to thank NetGalley, Diane Kelly and St. Martin's Press, St. Martin's Paperbacks for the e-ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are honest, my own and left voluntarily.

What a fun story. Misty runs a lodge and her current guests are a group of women who love motorcycles. They have come to town to enjoy the beautiful fall scenery and enjoy the ride. When the head of the group is found dead, it looks like an accident. Misty isn't sure. Plus there are weird things going on, lurkers around the lodge and unwelcome visitors. I love the characters. Misty, her employee Brynn, and her handyman Rocky are interesting characters. They help her do a bit of snooping as well. There is action, tantrums, and high emotions. Who would want to kill Gerri? He husband's ex-wife, the step-son, his wife, or someone in the group.

The story was very entertaining. Lots of different characters and little mysteries to work out and Misty tries to discover the true killer. The writing style is easy-to-read and the situations are at times funny and at other times, tense. This is the second book in the series. I have now read both books and know I want to read the next one as well.

The thought of moving up to the mountains and running a mountain lodge is very appealing to me. All the people that keep dying at said lodge, not so much, lol.

I am really enjoying the premise behind this book series and I love the characters! I will definitely continue with this series.

I had such a great time with the first book in this series (Getaway with Murder) that I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the sequel. I love the main character, Misty, who is a recently (amicably) divorced woman in her 50s. Her new venture, the Mountaintop Lodge, has brought her new friends, a possible new romance, and new adventures. I love that she’s mature, level-headed, and gets along well with the local law enforcement. The police, for their part, are competent, friendly, and willing to work with Misty and her friends to solve the murder.

As the second book in the series there was more character development and you could see the relationships between Misty, housekeeper Brynn, and handyman Rocky continue to solidify, especially as work to solve their second murder at the Inn. Misty knows her strengths and weaknesses and is a refreshing addition to the “over 50” crowd of amateur sleuths that seem to be increasing (no complaints here!)

There were a few suspects in this one and in hindsight, I could see that the reader is given all the clues required to solve the mystery. However, there were enough red herrings to keep me guessing until very nearly the end. During the course of the story, along with the twists and turns, there were also a few other subplots that added to the mystery. Even when I thought I had some aspects figured out, I was pleasantly surprised to find another twist in front of me.

Yeti, Misty’s beautiful white cat, adds a little more to the story in this book – some of the things that Yeti sees from her window perch gives the reader a bit more info that Misty isn’t around for, which adds an extra level of interest. Overall, the story was really well written and a great cozy mystery to spend the weekend with. The sequel may have been even better than the first book in the series so I’m really looking forward to the third book!

Mistype Mountaintop Lodge is fully booked with a women's motorcycle club. When one of the riders is found dead, questions arise about the death. Is it a freak accident or murder? Who wanted the rider dead? The story had several other plotlines that kept me hooked and guessing until the end. I look forward to the next installment.

In this second offering in the Mountain Lodge series, lodge owner Misty hosts a group of biker gals, with whom death is a rider as well! When the mentor and matron of the Dangerous Curves motorcycle club is involved in an accident that leads to her demise, the group's riding trip is ruined and foul play is evident. Suspects abound and Misty along with her trusted housekeeper Brynn, friend Patty, and handyman Rocky become involved in helping local law enforcement solve the crime.

The women bikers added a special twist to this story. Although I read many mystery novels, this is the first one I have found that features biker chicks. For that reason alone, this well-crafted novel is worth a read. Although second in the series, readers can enjoy this book as a standalone.

I received this novel from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Misty is a 50 year old newly single woman who buys a lodge in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. In this second book of the series, a girls’ biker gang stays at the lodge and trouble follows.

I am enjoying this series and liked this second one a little more than the first. I am familiar with the setting and like reading about places I can truly picture in my mind. This series has an atmospheric setting that to me is perfect for a cozy mystery.

Features heroine Misty Murphy as a newly divorced and just turned fifty woman who is independent, resourceful, organized, and good with people heroine, Rocky is the hunky handyman interested in her and is daughter visits in this story, Brynn is her new-age housekeeper, and Patty is the diner owner from across the road and her new best friend. The characters were all fun and relatable. The delightful animals: dog named Molasses and cat called Yeti. The women's biker club staying at the lodge provide interesting characters and plenty of drama.

The lodge setting amid the Smokey Mountains is excellent and the murder mystery has plenty of twists and viable suspects. The book flows smoothly and kept my interest, it is a delight to read. The killer confrontation is short but exciting and while I had run through all the suspects so it wasn't a complete surprise, it wasn't my top guesses. Well done.

This series provides a more mature sleuth that has been around the block and is in her second chapter of life which is a welcome lead. I highly recommend this cozy mystery.

Misty operates Mountaintop Lodge in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, and she loves her new life. But when ladies of the Dangerous Curves Motorcycle Club arrive for the week, they bring trouble. One member insists on riding dangerously and another rider has something to hide. Misty finds herself working with her assistant and Wiccan Brynn and her handyman Rocky to solve the mystery.
I like the dedication, which describes the book: "To Tracy Xander Hartman, who plays to the beat of her own drum and makes the world all the more interesting because of it." This book is a fun ride from start to finish. It includes plenty of action, red herrings and not much romance, which is what I prefer.
The Wiccan aspect is different. But I find it interesting that the religion connects the female deity to nature's rhythms, which is relevant to the novel's setting.
I would definitely stay at Mountaintop Lodge. I especially want to meet the cat Yeti and try Patty's hot apple cider.

This is the 2nd installment in the Mountain Lodge Mystery Series. Misty Murphy is recently divorced and purchased a Mountain Lodge in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Misty is thrilled when an all female motorcycle club named Dangerous Curves (love the name!) has booked the entire lodge for a week. She quickly makes friends with the group and when they invite both her and Brynn on a ride she jumps at the chance. Unfortunately, the leader of the group Gerri and on that ride the tail rider does not arrive at the check point. Soon Misty is actively trying to determine who might of hurt her new friend and why. This is an engaging read and filled with great characters. There are plenty of suspects from her step children, the ex-wife and members from the motorcycle club. This mystery will keep you engaged and it will not disappoint. Looking forward to the next installment in this series.

The second installment in this series was great fun. When The Dangerous Curves Motorcycle Club books a stay at the Mountaintop Lodge, there's bound to be trouble. But the ladies are anything but trouble, Except for one member who is testing the limits and another who is a little mysterious. When one member turns up dead, Misty, Rocky and the gang are on the hunt for the killer. I really love the characters in this series!

this is the second installment in the “mountain lodge mystery” and my first novel from the series. one detail that quickly stood out to me is how the author describes the nature surrounding the blue ridge mountains. the scenery, especially the colorful trees, make east coast worth visiting despite the cold. each of the characters stand out, which i thought would be tricky considering the dangerous curves motorcycle clubs is made up of a large group of women. however, the main ladies stand out by having certain personalities/quirks that contribute to their importance. i especially loved gerry, who doesn’t let her age hold her back from fun - she’s quite the ball of energy. and then you have someone like reyna who is extremely loyal and a behind-the-scenes type of gal.

the crew of lovable characters doesn’t stop there - i also loved the camaraderie between misty and her fellow business owner at the diner next door … and rocky, the love interest. i thought the plot was perfectly balanced between misty solving the mystery, managing the lodge, and figuring out where she stands with rocky. no cozy mystery is complete without a furry sidekick and yeti the cat certainly filled those shoes. however, i was confused by the addition of the few chapters told by yeti’s point of view. granted, they were only a couple pages at the most but i didn’t see how they added anything to the story because anything witnessed by yeti was eventually retold by misty.

I really enjoyed this first book in the series and this one did not disappoint. The lodge is hosting the Dangerous Curves motorcycle club and Misty is happy to have a full house. The ladies all arrive ready to ride the parkway and enjoy the fall colors. But there are also some tensions among the riders. When one of the riders is killer Misty sets out to solve the crime. I really enjoy the characters and the setting. The author does a good job of describing the area. The mystery was good and there were lots of suspects. There were also some side mysteries to make it interesting. The solution was good and made sense. It was a quick fun read. I look for word to reading book 3 Enjoy
