I really did read this story non-stop. I just could not tear myself away for anything less than a dire emergency. A cozy read with drama, trauma, a whole lot of friendship, and a dash of love. Another fun cozy! While I’m not the biggest fan of the Yeti perspective chapters, they were sparse enough not to bother me in this one. The mystery was complicated enough to be engaging, but not so complicated as to become confusing. I’ve enjoyed how we’re getting to know the secondary characters better and look forward to the next book!

The second book in the Mountain Lodge Mystery is an excellent follow up to the debut. Misty Murphy's Mountaintop Lodge has been rented by a female motorcycle club who have come to the NC mountains for an Autumn getaway. Misty becomes involved in the investigation when the matriarch of the club dies during a ride.

First of all, as a native of North Carolina, the mountains are my happy place. I loved seeing places I know mentioned in the book. I know the location of the murder scene quite well as I drive that part of the Blue Ridge Parkway at least twice a year to go to Craggy Gardens. The bike club anticipates riding the Tail of the Dragon, also know as America's most exciting road for its eleven miles of twists and turns. (Side note: you really need to trust your riding partner for this ride. As someone who has done the Tail, I can attest that it is not for the faint of heart.)

Misty has quickly become one of my favorite characters. I love that she is a mature woman living her dream. I really like that she and her ex-husband have a good relationship and that she is starting to let Rocky into her life. Misty stays grounded and does not put herself into dangerous situations even when investigating.

The characters are well thought out. I feel at home with them and could see myself eating with Patty at the Greasy Griddle. I know I would enjoy conversations with Brynn. Rocky's character is solid and steadfast.

The mystery is very well done. There were quite a few suspects from within the club itself and from Gerri's extended family. I enjoyed learning about each of them through a number of twists and turns.

I love that animals are a part of the story. I love reading Yeti's point of view. Yeti is a very observant cat and it makes me look at mine in a different light. Bernese Mountain Dogs are one of my favorite breeds and I love how Rocky's dog Molasses is portrayed.

This is such a great series! I read the book in one sitting and then was sad because it will be so long before the next one comes out.

I highly recommend that you get to know Misty Murphy and gang .

The trouble begins almost as soon as the women of the Dangerous Curves Motorcycle Club rumble up to the Mountaintop Lodge. Rowdy members and odd phone calls are only the beginning. This is the first book I’ve read in this series and it read fine as a stand-alone. Well written, with great characters, interesting plot & fine storytelling. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the series. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a voluntary, unbiased review.

This is great cozy mystery. It has a murder to solve and has just enough drama and twists and turns to keep you guessing until the end. I loved the setting, the characters and the pace of the story. If you enjoy a good cozy mystery, you will love this book.

Good addition to this pleasant cozy mystery series. Interesting group of ladies visit the lodge. The recurring characters are a delightful group. A smidgeon of romance. A clever murder mystery. Wonderful references to the locale.

Another miss for me with characters that I could not relate too, a story that felt contrived and writing that felt forced and superficial. Did not finish

The Mountaintop Lodge is the perfect setting for a cozy mystery since it allows for a revolving cast of guests who can be murdered and plenty of scenic areas in the surrounding mountains where bodies can turn up. And it’s nice to read a cozy where the local police force isn’t incompetent. Overall a fun story with well written characters although I didn’t feel that the chapters from the cats point of view really added anything.

Misty is happy to welcome a women's motorcycle group to her inn in mountains but then strange things- and murder- happen. Know that there are chapters in this well done cozy that are narrated by-wait for it- a cat, who has a pretty entertaining point of view. One of the women is found dead by the side of the road, one seems to be in hiding. What does Misty do? She investigates, of course, with the able assistance of her pals Brynn, Rocky, and Patty. I like that Misty is a mature heroine and the setting is terrific. I missed the first book so this was a fine standalone for me. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. For cozy fans- I'm looking forward to the next one.

I am thoroughly invested in Diane Kelly's The Mountain Lodge Mysteries. 'A Trip with Trouble' is engaging from the first page. The cast of characters are well drawn and believable. The mystery had me guessing until the very end. However, the most appealing highlight is the ongoing relationship between Misty, the proprietor of the Lodge and her handyman, Rocky. The unfolding of their interactions has me in anxious anticipation for the next offering. I highly recommend both books in the series.

A women's motorcycle group arrives at the Mountaintop Lodge in the Blue Ridge Mountains to spend a few days enjoying the colors of the change of season, riding the mountain roads, and enjoying their time together. Trouble seems determined to ruin their time. Misty, the innkeeper, gets involved with solving the accident/murder of one of the members. This is the second book in the series, but the story reads like a stand-alone.

This is the perfect fall cozy mystery. When the leader of a female motorcycle club is murdered, there are several people found to have a motive. The book keeps you guessing to the end. Definitely recommend this one.

This is a really good mystery. It kept me guessing. The woman's death was in a forest with no witnesses but there were still plenty of suspects. Misty welcomed a lady's motorcycle club to her lodge. All seems to be going well until one woman goes missing from one of their rides. Misty and others were looking for her when they found she had gone off the road. Unfortunately, she was dead when they found her. There are so many things going on and they have to figure out if they are related incidents or separate incidents. Can they figure it out?

The Dangerous Curves Motorcycle Club comes roaring into the Blue Ridge and park their cycles at the MountainTop Lodge. Misty Murphy, the owner of Lodge has a full house . The lady bikers are friendly and fun-loving, so when their leader has a tragic "accident" that turns into murder, Misty is once again driven to find a killer.

This second installment was great because we see definite character development as well as a good mystery.

A group of women motorcyclists come to spend some time at the lodge and ride their motorcycles. Misty is thrilled. This will help her pay for the lodge.

Everyone had fun and chatted until the leader of the group was killed. Misty wants to find out who did it. There are a lot of suspects. Everyone claimed to love her but someone must not have.

They find her off the road and it looks like someone knocked her and the bike down there. Will she be able to figure it out? Who could have hated her enough to do that?

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It is a standalone story. I have not read the first book but did not feel lost.

I like the motorcycle club and could relate to riding the Dragon and the other rides. The premise was intriguing. I will need to find the time to schedule the first book in my TBR list.

A motorcycle club called the Dangerous Curves rent rooms in an Inn run by Misty. The lead rider Gerri, died in a mysterious way while riding her motorcycle. Misty has her eyes and ears open to who possibly had caused Gerri's accident. One of the club members had a big secret which put them in a dangerous position of being exposed to who they really are. Gerri also had family members that were suspects since Gerri held their children's trust funds.

This was such an enjoyable read. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a cozy murder mystery.

This is the second book in the Mountain Lodge mystery series. Misty is in her early 50s and divorced after her children grew up (she and her husband just grew apart). She now owns the Mountain Top Lodge in North Carolina, and it is fully booked by the Dangerous Curves Motorcycle Cub. They are a fun group of women but when Gerri, the head of the club is killed it's up to Misty to figure out who wanted her dead.
It's a true cozy mystery with a cat, a potential love interest for Misty, some interesting secondary characters, and a murder with a long list of suspects. I like the fact that Misty is older and has years of experience behind her. Not in amateur sleuthing, but her issues are different than most of the cozy mysteries I have read. The lodge setting is one that can provide many different murder scenarios and I'm curious to see what happens in the next book.3.5 stars.

I have read some of Daine Kelly’s novels prior to this one. Specifically, her Paw Enforcement series and the first novel of the Mountain Lodge series. Yeti, Misty’s cat, still was not as prominent. In fact, I felt that Yeti was in this less than the first one. Again, Yeti’s voice just felt like it was there to fill chapters. That’s one reason that I took a star away.

Another was that, while I admire Misty and her openness with everyone and everything, I found her a bit quick to jump to conclusions in her investigation. About 2 of the suspects for sure, but then also for dismissing others. I just felt that her judgment was off in this particular novel.

Outside of those two reasons, I actually really enjoyed this novel. I liked the acceptance of Brynn, Misty, Patty, and Rocky of the ladies motorcycle club. I loved the camaraderie of the ladies as well. I was also really happy about Rocky and Misty.

The mystery was great. The fact that there were two instead of one, and that they were seamlessly intertwined was very smooth. There are several theories along the way, along with plenty of suspects. I also liked the fact that Misty worked with the police rather than there being any tension. Sometimes, it seemed like the deputy shared more than he probably should have, but as we find out later, there are 614 residents, news travels fast.

Overall I rate this novel 4 out of 5 stars.

A ladies motorcycle club takeover of Mountaintop Lodge for their annual fall ride/vacation thrills Misty Murphy – a full lodge helps with the bottom line. It is really busy with all these guests and their various dramas. When Misty and Brynn get invited to spend the day with the ladies a fun time is had by all until Gerri, a senior member of the club disappears. After notifying the authorities everybody pitches in to search for the missing club member. They discover her body not far from their last stopping point – is it a terrible accident or foul play?

This was a fun and light mystery with plenty of suspects and a satisfying ending. I really liked the flirtation between Misty and Rocky. I look forward to the next book in this series.
