I didn't expect to like this book so much. Very emotional and heart warming story.
Like both main characters.
Highly recommended.

I’ve listened to this audiobook multiple times, that’s how much I loved it. This story was absolutely lovely and lush. I got swept away in the descriptions, the wonderful cast of characters, the tender aching hearts of the two main leads. The romance was…just swoon. I can’t wait to read the sequels, which there better be at least two of given the seeds planted!

The opening scene gave me the impression that I would love this book. And indeed, it is filled with these swoon-worthy moments instigated by both main characters. This review most certainly shortchanges a lively set of secondary characters. I just adored this debut; the author, for me, echoed different pieces about what I love most about my favorite authors-with perhaps less polish, but you will still forget you are reading a debut.

this was super cute. I loved how easy it was to read and it was light and fluffy. I loved their relationship and the chemistry they had together. I highly recommend if you're looking for a page turner.

Another great debut, and I feel like I'm on a roll so far this year!

BEND TOWARD THE SUN is "a heartwarming, sensual, beautifully written story", When an academic setback leads Rowan to take on the restoration of an abandoned vineyard, she relishes the opportunity to restore the grapes to their former glory.

It was overall a great love story between Rowan and Harrison as they navigate their emotions and sort out their own baggage from their past, and bonus points because I always appreciate a romance with steam. I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Chris Brinkley and Erin Mallon, and thought they were good at bringing the character voices to light.

What a stunning debut by author, Jen Devon! And Chris Brinkley and Erin Mallon do a fantastic job on the narration of the audiobook!

This is a heart-warming, perfect romance in which I was transported into the setting with ease. I felt liked I lived at the vineyard that Harry’s parents bought. Rowan ends up helping with the restoration of the vineyard, and we get to feel the development of their romance. They both have a lot of baggage to deal with, but together, it seems they can take on the world.

The Bradys, Harry’s family, are those type of people that you want to associate with and love forever. I want to move to the vineyard today and live and work there with them! It sure would be nice to get a few more books with these characters!

Thanks to NetGalley, Jen Devon, and Macmillan Audio for this review copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily!

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I thought this was just ok. I love a strong, well educated lead female character who loves her field, but I found nothing about the story stood out as overly memorable or exciting.

I am full of lovey dovey mush. I really enjoyed this story of Harry and Rowan. It was a love story full of steam and tenderness. I couldn't help but have a smile on my face rooting for them. Gave me Ali Hazelwood romance vibes!! Highly recommend if you are looking for a good romantic read!

With so many great reviews I kept waiting for this book to get better but I didn't. The story is overwritten with nothing really happening. Time passes but the characters don't grow until the end of the book. They both had issues that never felt resolved to me.

Love everything about this book and the audio. It's a great love story, on par with Ali Hazelwood and Emily Henry! Bend Toward the Sun is one of my favorite reads of 2022!

Rowan and Harrison...two people with a lot of heartbreak and baggage. They meet in an unexpected paradise where they both found themselves for healing. They can't fight the undeniable connection as much as they try. A soul satisfying romance you don't want to miss! Thank you netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book.

A didn’t love this one. It was predictable but in a way that was too annoying. I didn’t like either of the main characters and felt there were many ways of improvement with this one

All my friends were talking about this one, but it just didn't work for me. I wanted to like it, but I just wasn't in the right mindset for this book. It was too sad, and I needed something with a little more humor. This doesn't mean that down the road I won't try to read this again and like it, I just couldn't get into it at this time.

It will stay with me for a long time. The narrator was so perfect for this book.
Thank you!

This was a sweet, believable romance that I really enjoyed. Anything set around vineyards and wine making grabs my interest. The relationship was realistic and I was cheering the main characters in to make it all work out.

This was a reread for me and can confirm this book is just as amazing if not better the second time around.

The narrators were wonderful especially Chris Brinkley. Just the right amount of angst, swoon and just these two horny for each other and falling for each other.

I love this book and cannot wait for the next.

This is the story of Rowan, a botanist who shies away from personal entanglements, partially as a result of her upbringing. When she accompanies a friend to a party at a soon-to-be-restored vineyard, she meets Harrison during a game. Something clicks between them, but they're both so scarred from their past that they are each hesitant to get more involved. However, when Harrison's family hires Rowan to advise them on their vineyard restoration, the plot thickens. And, this book describes what happens after that.
The book has a good "up-and-down" romantic story line, but it is infused with rural culture and botanical tidbits, making it unique and interesting. The characters seem real with the excellent narration, and make it one you won't want to put aside until you see what happens!

Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for sending this audiobook for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

Bend Toward the Sun is one of my FAVORITE summer reads and one I definitely recommend everyone puts on their radar.

Rowan wants nothing to do with love, all she wants is to finish her botany studies and move on with her research projects. She’s back in town with two of her best friends, wanting casual sex situations and beautiful plants. She’s withholding multiple secrets about her past with good reason, including a hard upbringing and one unfavorable ex-fiancée. Yet, when Rowan starts working at a local vineyard to help bring it back to life, what she doesn’t realize is that her whole life is about to change.

Harrison is back home at his family’s vineyard after losing a patient during a traumatic birth. He’s at the vineyard to recover from trauma, not find love in any way, shape or form. Especially someone named Rowan.

Sparkling with sexual tension and chemistry, Bend Toward the Sun tells the dual point of view story about two characters navigating their way through restoring a vineyard. Jen Devon is a debut author who’s writing instantly captured my attention and had me wanting to discover both character’s backstories. The side characters were placed throughout and I cannot wait to read their stories to come. I was able to listen to this story and was delighted with the two narrators: Erin Mallon and Chris Brinkley: that were chosen to tell Rowan and Harrison’s stories.

Thank you St. Martin’s Press Romance, Macmillan audio and Netgalley for my arc in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
