I received this book from NetGalley in return for my honest opinion.
I really wanted to love this book. It sounded like something I would enjoy very much.
Don’t get me wrong, I liked the characters and the familiars where really enjoyable. It was just that this book is written over the span of two days. We have the before, about how savvy and griffin met. I really liked those stories. Then there is now. They fight a whole bunch of people and they end two organizations in two days. It just didn’t feel believable. The romance was also really weird in the now parts. I really expected it to be like mr and mrs smith but I did not get those vibes.
Also, having sex in a car after (kinda during) a fight and you are still in your wedding dress even though you have been home? Yeah, no. Not really believable.

A retelling of Mr. & Mrs. Smith with a witchy twist!
This was such a fun, witchy rom-com read!
Savvy and Griffin are in love, but on their wedding day they discover that they’ve both been harboring some big secrets in their relationship. Savvy is a witch and Griffin is a witch hunter. They soon find themselves working through some seriously perilous escapades as they simultaneously navigate their emotions in a laugh out loud story full of fun and witty moments.
I thought Savvy and Griffin were perfectly matched and I loved the past/present switches that gave great background to their love story. The magic system was fun and unique as well as the familiars. I really loved the inclusion of Savvy rescuing and helping to rehab familiars.
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for an e-arc in exchange for my honest review!

I was kind of iffy on this book for the first little bit but it definitely grew on me as I kept reading! I really enjoyed the dual povs and timelines.
Paris thinking all the humans were dumb was hilarious, I especially enjoyed her pov chapter. I love that any miscommunication was kept to a minimum, everyone was able to talk things out which was refreshing.
I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I’ve intended to read several of Gwenda Bond’s novels for a long time now - and after reading Mr. and Mrs. Witch, I can’t believe that I ever put it off! She’s an incredible author … no wonder she’s a NYT bestseller!! This book is just awesome!
I’m not a big paranormal or witch reader normally (I tend to stick more to contemporary), but I’m really trying to get more into the subtrope. This is definitely the best witch romance I’ve ever picked up, and I’ve read a lot more of them in the last few years, thinking each was better than the last. Any future ones are going to have a lot to live up to, now! I also don’t generally like the plot device of telling a story by using flashbacks… but she really did it well (it was very necessary with this storyline).
I liked the nod to the Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie movie (Mr & Mrs Smith).
I totally enjoyed Savvy and Griffith’s wedding day disaster and the year leading up to it, with the background of the paranormal groups they each belong to, which keep the secrets of witches and other supernatural creatures from the real world. Very, very well done! I definitely recommend this book to everyone! For anyone looking to increase their paranormal reads like me, this is a perfect one to pick up!
I received an advance review copy from NetGalley and St. Martin's Press (St. Martin's Griffin), and this is my honest feedback.

Savvy is a powerful witch. Griffin is a genius witch hunter. They don't know about each others' secret lives. OH, they're also engaged. And their wedding day explodes into chaos and they now both have bounties on their heads. No big deal!
You Deserve Each Other plus witchy vibes! A badass witch and sexy, shy professor was a pairing I never knew I needed. I was really unexpectedly drawn into this book immediately. You are dropped into Griffin and Savvy's wedding day and things quickly get out of hand. From there you are on a non-stop adventure, going from flashbacks of the origins of Savvy and Griffin's relationship to the present timeline where they have to work together to stay alive and possibly save their relationship....
Other fun details of this book were the side characters and the magic universe that the author created. You also get a chapter from the point of view of Savvy's familiar, a leopard/cat named Paris, which is SO fun and creative.
One thing I hoped for was some more romantic moments. Because the present timeline moved so quickly there wasn't much time for space or romance and that left me wanting more.

Mr and Mrs Witch is full of charm and delightful characters, but reads more action than romance (lightly steamy).
The flow of the story left me feeling disjointed — moving from present to past at variously decreasing intervals — and it ultimately seemed to stymie the depth and development of the characters and the story. The emotional connection between the characters just didn't have the time to develop for me to connect to. And the lackluster "final bosses battle" fizzled.
A fun magical twist on Mr and Mrs Smith whose spellcasting could use a little tweaking. For as charming as it was, it did not leave be bewitched.

One Liner: Entertaining but could have been a lot better
Savvy (Savannah) Wilde is a powerful witch working with the CRONE organization. Griffin is a top agent at the HUNTER organization that obviously works against CRONE. Since their identities are supposed to be secret, Savvy and Hunter end up in love.
Their wedding day ends up as a disaster when the truth comes out. But things have just gotten worse. Savvy and Griffin soon have a bounty on their heads, and maybe working together is the only way to stay alive.
The story comes from the MCs' limited third-person POVs. The narration moves back and forth between the present and the past.
If you haven’t guessed already, this is a witchy retelling of the movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
What I Like:
It’s a light read, and I mean really light; the kind of book you read with the grey cells turned off and go with the flow.
The writing is easy to read and has a decent pace. It is also easy to speed-read the book.
There are enough laughs and some roll-your-eyes kind of jokes that may or may not be funny. This depends on what the reader enjoys.
The premise is rather good as it tries a different take on the centuries-old war between witches and hunters. Having different animals and birds as familiars is a cool touch.
What Could Have Been Better for Me:
Well, I know rom-coms are supposed to be lighthearted and fun, but this one is a little too easy.
Insta-lust turned love isn’t explored. The world-building is sketchy. The climax is simple. The ending feels effortless (not in a good way).
The conflict is presented but never worked out in detail. The bits and pieces of the past (not MCs' past but the fights and deaths) mentioned aren’t talked about. Generational trauma, baggage, and hatred are solved with such ease, I wish for the same in real life.
World-building is a crucial part of fantasy work. It is necessary even in rom-com. This one sets the base but doesn’t explore it.
The characters are uni-dimensional. Some of the supporting characters show hints of being more but are underutilized. Even the main characters are more about their physical appearances. Calling the guy nerdy a dozen times isn’t going to be enough if we can’t see how he qualifies to be one (and no, a professor with fake glasses doesn’t automatically become a nerd).
I don’t mind steam in books. In fact, I do like reading well-written steamy scenes. But it shouldn’t come at the cost of character development. A good rom-com should do justice to both elements.
The villains are boring. Yeah, yeah, rom-com and all. But come on, at least give me villains I can despise. Give them some attitude, if nothing else.
To summarize, Mr. & Mrs. Witch is a decent entertainer that could have been a great book with a little more of everything (except steam). But it ends up as a time pass book. Read, review, and forget.
Thank you, NetGalley, St. Martin's Press, and St. Martin's Griffin, for the eARC. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.

WOW this book was *so* much fun. This book is essentially a Mr. and Mrs. Smith retelling but with witches and hunters and it is just as fun and fast paced as the movie. The main characters were so fun, and I loved seeing their journey as they unraveled the conspiracy. I am also a sucker for animal companions and this book had multiple throughout the story. Overall I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend for someone wanting a fun action packed book.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an e book in exchange for my review.

This was a quirky, lighthearted read…like I Love Lucy/Bewitched high jinks meets contemporary setting and rom-com vibes. Some parts are a bit of a stretch and it def doesn’t mind diving into the cheesy end here and there, but it all makes for a fun, low-stakes read that you can just laugh at the silliness and enjoy. It’s a perfect palette cleanser between heavier/intense books.
It definitely felt like things were being set up for a second book with Brie and Diego, and I’m totally here for it. I’d love to see a book about Melissa as well, she was one of my favorite characters in the book.

Mr & Mrs. Smith but make it supernatural, I’m sold.
I’m a sucker for a good urban paranormal romance novel and this one didn’t disappoint. It followed the bases of Mr & Mrs Smith so well, powerful witch Savannah who works for the C.R.O.N.E (Covert Responses to Occult Nightmares) operatives and we have geeky professor Griffin who secretly works for the H.U.N.T.E.R (Humans Undertaking Nocturnal Terror and Evil Reduction) they nemesis and they fall into a whirlwind love match that blows up in their faces come their wedding day. With everything exposed a lot more comes to light regarding why they thought their operations didn’t like each other. I love a good enemy to lovers’ twist. One big thing that made me chuckle were their familiars and how they could transform, poor Griffin thought he had a little kitty cat, but little did he know Savannah familiar was a full-grown Panther and a little frog whose true form is a horse lol it cracked me right up.
This book was honestly just so much fun, so glad I was gifted an E-arc from Netgalley. This was the first book I’ve read by this author, and I’ll definitely be checking out more from her!

Although this was such a unique premise I can’t say that it sucked me in. The characters are presented as super in love but the moment a misunderstanding arises it’s like they are ready to throw everything away. Then the story dives in to how they met and I didn’t see where the chemistry came from at all. It felt super insta lovey. I did appreciate the constant action but it felt like there really wasn’t more to it. Plenty of people seem to love this story so it’s probably just me. I would still recommend others give it a read, but it wasn’t for me.
Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC.

Thank you @stmartinspress for the ARC 🫶🏼
Mr & Mrs Smith but make it paranormal. A witch and a witch hunter? Yes. And they don’t discover the truth until chaos breaks out on their wedding day.
I love a book that goes back and forth between past and present like this one does. We get to see Savvy and Griffin fall in love but also how they deal with learning the truth about one another. And then throw in some assassins coming after them & they have to work together. Honestly chefs kiss.
“Savannah Wilde is a witch, a very powerful one—an identity that only her fellow witches know. Following a whirlwind romance that surprised herself and her family, Savvy is all set to marry the love of her life. But she isn’t the only one with a secret that needs to be kept, even from her soon-to-be husband.
Griffin Carter is a top agent for a clandestine organization that, well, used to primarily hunt witches, but now mainly tries to shut down supernatural threats their own way. He can’t wait to lay his eyes on the woman he’s about to spend the rest of his life with.
As Savvy walks down the aisle to Griffin, the wedding quickly goes from blessed day to shit show when their true identities are revealed. To say there’s bad blood between their factions is putting it mildly. Savvy and Griffin are tasked to take the other out, but when they discover a secret that could take down both of their agencies, they realize the only way to survive is to team up. With assassins hot on their trail, will Savvy and Griffin make it out alive to try again at ‘I do’?”

This book was a fun, light read. Mr. And Mrs. Smith with a supernatural twist.
Savannah and Griffin are engaged, and both keeping their special abilities and careers a secret from each other. These secrets come to light on their wedding day, totally derailing their ceremony. Savannah is a witch who is involved in a secret organization called Crone. Crones focus is protecting humans from supernatural beings and helping witches to find their familiars. Griffin is involved in a secret organization called HUNTER, who’s focus is hunting down supernatural creatures including witches.
When their identities are revealed, they are assigned to kill each other. However, they end up teaming up together due to their love for each other and suspicion that something isn’t quite right with the kill order.
I enjoyed this book, and found it to be a fun entertaining read.
Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martins Press for providing me with an eARC of this book to read and review.

What's it about (in a nutshell):
Mr. and Mrs. Witch is the magical retelling of the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith and, oh, what fun I had reading it! Savvy is a witch, and Griffin is a witch hunter. Since they kept their identities secret from everybody, including each other, they were free to fall in love and get married. Except, there is one problem, on their wedding day, their identities are exposed, and they are each ordered to kill the other. What happens next is a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud magical thrill ride that is enjoyable from start to finish.
My Reading Experience:
I'm always up for a witchy romcom, but this one had the added element of thrills and spills, added to the romance and humor. I loved the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and this retelling of that movie hit all the best aspects with the added bonus of magic in the middle of the mayhem. It's an enjoyable and entertaining read.
I also loved how authentic the romance felt and how Griffin just had a way of letting Savvy shine. There are no insecurities in this relationship. Love and mutual respect make the pair easy to root for as they are pitted against one another.
I also loved the familiars. That part was magically fun, as I've never known familiars to be portrayed quite the way they are in this story. Savvy's familiar, in particular, is one insightful cat that won't be and shouldn't be ignored.
If you loved Mr. and Mrs. Smith and magic and are looking for a fun light read, Mr. and Mrs. Witch will hit the spot.

Overall, I enjoyed reading the story. I love the romance, suspense, magic, and humorous moments. I also like that the story is shown between the present and flashback to different points in time. The story opens just before the wedding when they realize that they are on opposite sides. Both of them feel that they were tricked and betrayed. The first flashback is to their first meeting and further flashbacks are shown as their relationship develops. This is a nice way to tell a story. I found it unbelievable that when they were in imminent danger, they stopped to make love. I also thought that things were resolved at the end of the book smoother than I would imagine. I received a free copy of this ebook from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I would enjoy reading a sequel to this book - maybe focusing on the secondary characters.

What a delightful, fast paced, adorable rom com! I picked this up after reading some heavier books and it was a perfect palate cleanser. Mr. & Mrs. Witch is a cute play on the movie Mr. & Mrs. Witch and it hits all the marks. I hope Gwenda Bond writes additional books for all the other witches!
Than you to #netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Hold on for the ride of your life! On a broomstick, of course! Mr. & Mrs. Witch is a funny, cute read about two people who fall in love and decide to marry. Normally, by the time you arrive at the altar, there should be no surprises, but when Savannah Wilde and Griffin Carter reach the altar, all their secrets explode in their faces.
Savvy is a witch, although her fiancée has no idea. She honestly never thought she would fall in love, let alone marry someone, let alone a mortal, but she had instant chemistry when she met Griffin Carter, a professor.
Griffin Carter can’t believe his luck! He is marrying the love of his life, Savvy. They have known each other for a year, and they fit perfectly together in every way. He still feels a sense of angst when he thinks about the fact that although she thinks he’s a professor, he really works for a secret company who hunt witches. But thank goodness there is no reason for her to know.
So, as they both stand at the altar, ready to begin their life together, waiting to take their vows which will seal the deal, as they look around at the guests who have come to witness these glorious nuptials, they begin to notice some unsavory characters. Griffin sees a witch, but not just a witch, an important witch they have been going after for years. Savvy sees a Hunter, not just an ordinary hunter of witches, but the head of the company that tries to kill them. What on earth are they doing at the wedding?
As Savvy and Griffin stand at the altar, they both realize they have been keeping some pretty dark secrets. That’s when all hell breaks loose and both sides begin to curse the other side. Savvy and Griffin are in shock! They can’t marry! It would be a crime! So, they do the only proper thing…they scream at each other and leave with their respective families.
Unfortunately for them, Savvy has been banished from her coven and Griffin has lost his job. Even worse, they have both been put on a hitlist, by the higher ups. None of this makes any sense, and even though they both realize they can never marry; they decide to work together to figure out what is really going on.
And this is when the real fun begins, as we get to glimpse how they met and how the relationship progressed. With the help of their families, familiars and friends, the lovebirds begin to piece a not so nice puzzle together that seems to have been going on for centuries. Now, if they can just solve it, before they are killed!
Mr. & Mrs. Witch is an exceptionally enjoyable read with plenty of mystery, sarcasm, laugh out loud moments and love.
Thank you #NetGalley #St.Martin’sGriffin #GwendaBond #Mr.&Mrs.Witch for the advanced copy.

Savvy and Griffin are ready for their big day. Savvy didn't think her job as a secret witch agent would allow her to have a normal life. But then she met sweet Griffin. Sure, she has to keep part of herself hidden, but he is worth it. She just has to get through her wedding with half a guest list of witches and half a guest list of humans without anyone noticing anything off. Until they realize their main foe is in the crowd. As everything unravels Savvy and Griffin realize in front of all of their closest friends and family that they are each the thing the other spends their life protecting the world from. When the heads of each agency call for Savvy and Griffin to be taken out for their betrayal, all sorts of extraworldly creatures come from them. They run into each other at their home where they are trying to regroup and save each other's lives. As they fight for their own lives they start to unravel a massive conspiracy. They must work together to figure it out. But will they be able to overcome their differences?
This was fun and quirky and a delightfully quick read. I loved the split timeline that contrasted the utter chaos following their wedding and the sweet meet cute and their courtship.
I am thankful for the electronic copy of the book that I received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Entertaining! I still wish any witch themed book would come out from Aug-Nov, but this fit the spring time mood for me!

This was a fun, whimsical book.
I loved the then & now chapters that showed the readers how the MCs met & clicked.
A very clever take on enemies-to-lovers/second-chance romance, I'd say.
Thank you Netgalley and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
