Savannah and Griffin are about to get married. Savannah is a powerful witch. She and her secret group
C.R.O.N.E. (Covert Responses to Occult Nightmares by Enchantresses work around the planet, doing things like keeping demons from poisoning water supplies. Meanwhile, Griffin is a member of a secret group who, historically, tracked down and destroyed witches. Nowadays, though they still consider witches to be their enemies, they help keep the world safe from supernatural threats. As a result of their covert jobs, neither knows about the other.

I loved this book. The world-within-our-world made it easy to believe. The way they met, and the steamy nature of their relationship made it a fun, intense read. It is a lot like the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith (hence the title); Savvy and Griffin are at odds and have to fight to stay alive while trying to figure out who wants them dead. Writing this review has made me want to read it again - I definitely recommend this book.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith, but it gets even better with witches and other supernatural beings.

I honestly had so much fun reading this. The world building was very well thought out, the cast of characters were all unique and full of life, and the overall pacing was great.

Savvy and Griffin were absolutely adorable and it was very rewarding to see the distinction as well as the similarities between their past and present. The way that they met and instantly clicked with their banter was so satisfying to my romantic heart. They were both reasonable and mature when it came to reading their respective chapters, so I didn't find myself rolling my eyes at their POVs. What I really appreciate about the book is that there was no unnecessary dramatic 3rd act break up. This was a cozy and fluffy romance that I can say with confidence was good for my heart.

I also feel like the author did a good job with diversity and inclusion in the story in terms of sexuality and demographics. Diego was a side character that I loved not only for the representation but his humor as well.

All of the familiars had my heart and that one chapter that we got with Paris had me smiling from ear to ear with how cute it was. The concept of having bonded familiars had me jealous and desperate to have one of my own.

The found family aspect of the story and end to feuds between C.R.O.N.E and H.U.N.T.E.R.S was everything that I never knew I needed. My only issue was that the ending we got with the heads of the respective organizations felt incomplete. But that sentiment might just be the cynic in me to see justice done or the author will attempt to continue the story in another book. We will just have to patiently wait and see. Other than that everything else was great.

In conclusion, this was an amazing and quick read full of witchy wholesome goodness. I definitely recommend this to fans of the paranormal that one something warm to read.

I will leave a review on Amazon and B&N on Mar 7th

At times in this book I really enjoyed it, at other times I wondered why am I even reading this. It was action packed, but at times the storyline was so far fetched. When a witch and a hunter meet, with no concept of what they each are what follows is a fantasy storyline with a little bit of romance tossed in. Although this was not a favorite of mine I still would recommend to others because not everyone enjoys the same style of writing.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and St. Martin's Griffin, I am leaving my review voluntarily.

Review:
I cannot say enough good things about Mr. & Mrs. Witch. I've already reccomended it to some people and my go to description is Mr. and Mrs. Smith but with magic spies instead of assassins. Savvy and Griffin are the perfet coupld and the way this book is plotted: starting with their wedding day and interspersed with flashbacks to moments throughout their love story you really get a full sense of who they are together and apart.
I've enjoyed Gwenda's books over the years, and having read a lot of them, I feel like this one is a level up for her and I'm so excited to see it happen for her. Her characters are engaging and magic or not feel like real people making real choices and not puppets on a string.
My only criticism comes from the ending where the main conflict gets wrapped up rather easily, but it's not that I didn't like that personally, but the stakes felt so high the whole book and it tooks the wind out of my framatic sails a bit. The drama and the humor go hand in hand for Gwenda and she does it so well!
While Savvy and Griffin are the main characters for sure. There is no way not to mention Savvy's familiar Paris, a leopard that glamours into a housecat and loves dad just as much as mom. Both Savvy and Griffin's fellow agents, friends, and family are interesting and I feel like there is a book two here and I need it to happen.

Synopsis:
Savannah Wilde is a witch, a very powerful one—an identity that only her fellow witches know. Following a whirlwind romance that surprised herself and her family, Savvy is all set to marry the love of her life. But she isn’t the only one with a secret that needs to be kept, even from her soon-to-be husband.

Griffin Carter is a top agent for a clandestine organization that, well, used to primarily hunt witches, but now mainly tries to shut down supernatural threats their own way. He can’t wait to lay his eyes on the woman he’s about to spend the rest of his life with.

As Savvy walks down the aisle to Griffin, the wedding quickly goes from blessed day to shit show when their true identities are revealed. To say there’s bad blood between their factions is putting it mildly. Savvy and Griffin are tasked to take the other out, but when they discover a secret that could take down both of their agencies, they realize the only way to survive is to team up. With assassins hot on their trail, will Savvy and Griffin make it out alive to try again at ‘I do’?

This was a cute, witchy take on Mr and Mrs Smith. I liked both Savvy and Griffin as characters, but I found some of the magical elements a bit juvenile. Especially the acronyms for the organizations.

What a delight! I have enjoyed Gwenda Bond's Date from Hell series and was excited to get an email about this new book that described it as an "absolutely delicious lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers paranormal take on Mr. and Mrs. Smith." That's an extremely apt description of the story of Savvy (Savannah) Wilde and Griffin Carter, unknowingly star-crossed lovers who find out, right in the middle of their wedding ceremony, that they're actually enemies. Savvy is a witch and is part of organization (C.R.O.N.E.) run by witches who are trying to keep magic in check. Griffin is part of an organization called H.U.N.T.E.R. that... well, tries to keep witches in check. This was very fast-paced with lots of action and magic and banter and a ton of chemistry between the main characters. Savvy and Griffin's history is told in interstitial chapters, and their whole romance is very sweet. I found this fun, funny and satisfying, and I'll definitely keep looking for more Gwenda Bond.

I hadn’t read this author before, and this book’s blurb sounded interesting. This is a fun, romantic book with some action-packed suspense around the romance. This was well-written, and I liked the characters. I wasn’t sure that we really needed the glimpse of the past, and I found that almost unnecessary. If we need to see the past, especially only a year in the past, make the book chronological. Anyway, that aside, I did enjoy this book. If you like a paranormal romance with witches, you will definitely enjoy this book. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Mr & Mrs Witch was not the right book for me. I wanted to like it. I usually really enjoy witchy rom-coms, but this one was so action packed that it started to become boring. And all that action was at the detriment of character development. I feel like the only things I know about the characters are like basic descriptions. I know the guy was hot and wears fake glasses, but I can’t tell you one thing about his personality and I just finished the book yesterday. Also I would have liked a bit more Worldbuilding.

3/5

Overall, I liked this book and would recommend! It was a fun, quick recreation of Mr. & Mrs. Smith with magic!

What I liked: I liked that you are instantly thrown into the drama and main crux of the book within the first chapter. It really grabbed my attention and I immediately had to know how it ends. I also liked that we flipped from past to present in getting to know Savvy and Griffin’s relationship. It worked really well for this story and worked well with relying on the character’s nostalgia of the beginning of their relationship against their present position of fighting each other. Also LOVED how we have a MC part of LGBTQ+!!!

However, I wanted more depth to Savvy and Griffin’s characters. I felt like I didn’t have that much grasp on them both below a surface level. I wanted more about Savvy’s relationship with her mom and how that has affected her feelings towards relationships. I also feel like there could be more action in the middle to amp up the fighting aspect. The story lagged a bit in the middle and felt like it needed more plot than just relationship filler.

Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!

This book had major Mr. and Mrs. Smith vibes but with a supernatural twist. And I was 100% here for it. I really like Gwenda Bond’s books. They are different kind of romance books and I enjoy that. I think this would a great book to read during spooky season.

A cute take on Mr. And Mrs. Smith. The beginning was a little rough to get into. It was hard to understand why they seemed to hate each other when the truth about who they were came to light at the very beginning. I didn’t get a clear picture of this until farther into the book. I did like the flashbacks to them meeting, falling in love, etc. The story was cutesy and cliche and the magic twist was a nice touch (though the “world” building was a little rough). All in all, this was a fun, and sometimes funny, read.

Savannah Wilde is a witch, but only those closest to her know. Well, only if they’re also a witch. Following a romance that swept her off her feet, Savy is set to marry the love of her life. But she’s not the only one with a secret.

Griffin Carter is a top agent for an organization that (mainly) hunts witches, but now tries to stop all supernatural forces. He can’t wait to marry the woman of his dreams.

That is until Savy walks down the isle and everything goes from perfect to a shit storm in .2 seconds when their identities are revealed. To say there’s bad blood between their two organizations is an understatement. Now they’re both ordered to take each other out, but when they’re taking “too long” assassins are ordered and hot on their trail. Will they make it out alive?

This book originally sounded like a magical version of Mr. And Mrs. Smith (and I loved that movie!) The magic in this book was really an interesting concept and probably kept my attention the most. The only downside, was there was a lot of miscommunication which was a main part of the plot. Being that I’m not a huge fan of that trope it made my irritable 🤣 This book also has two timelines and that can be hard to keep up with what’s going on. While the author wrote it well, there were still times that I wasn’t sure how long into the relationship I was supposed to be in.

I really enjoyed seeing Griffin and Savy work together even through their hatred with one another. I never really quite understood why the mom hated him so much but I enjoyed seeing him try his best to impress her, it was funny. Overall, this was a fun book to read and anyone who loves a good enemies to lovers romance should check it out!

Thank you to @netgalley, Gwenda Bond and St. Martins Press for an #arc of Mr. & Mrs. Witch to review.

I seriously loved this book! Everything I could ask for in a witchy, tongue-in-cheek, romantic story. Savvy and Griffin are about to be married when they discover she’s a witch and he’s a hunter. From that point on it was nonstop fun and action. I loved the flashback stories of how Savvy and Griffin met and fell in love. Can’t wait to read more from Gwenda Bond.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Thank you for letting me read this arc! I DNFd this book after about 50 pages. I liked the concept of the book but nothing was really holding my attention. I do think others would find this book enjoyable.

This was a fun read! I really like Gwenda Bond's first series, so I was excited to check this one out when I saw it was available. I definitely was caught up in the action of this book and thought that the main characters had good chemistry. I hope we are getting a book 2 with some of their friends as leads, I know there was a pairing I think would be good together!

Lots of witchy fun! I had good connections with Griffin and Savvy and thoroughly enjoyed the fun romp this book took me on. This was very like Mr. and Mrs. Smith with its fun retelling, but i was not disappointed on the fun !

Such a cute and fun supernatural retelling of Mr & Mrs Smith. The characters are quirky, fun and relatable as a couple. Both agreeing to keep each others secrets until their wedding day when each is ordered to take the other out.

I truly recommend this fun romantic read for any lover of the contemporary romance genre and like anything in the supernatural/witch realm.

This book intrigued me because it’s a fun, witchy retelling of Mr and Mrs Smith, the movie. I haven’t seen that one in awhile but was interested to read this take. It was face paced and a really cute idea! I liked the dialogue and the premise worked really well for witches. Would be a perfect read for October as well!
