Savvy, a witch, and Griffin, witch hunter, are both essentially secret agents working for rival clandestine organizations whose members are all convinced they're saving the world from the other. The couple don't know about each others' secret identities, and the book opens on their wedding day. Both of their notorious bosses show up, are recognized, and Savvy and Griffin discover they are supposed to be mortal enemies. But they don't kill each other immediately, giving them enough time to realize that not everything they've been taught about each other seems to be true.
After the opening, the story alternates between present day and the period following their first meeting and whirlwind romance. I enjoy a dual timeline and thought this worked well here. I wasn't immediately grabbed by the beginning, as first couple chapters were a little info-dumpy and felt a little abrupt in terms of writing style. However, this soon improved. I quickly got absorbed by the story and really enjoyed it. Also, many bonus points for all the fun animal familiars, and particularly for giving one a POV chapter.

3.5 stars . . .
This story was cute and entertaining! All the characters were lovable and people you wanted to root for. The description is perfect for what to expect throughout Savvy and Griffin's journey. Would recommend for anyone in need of some magic and love!

Well, I don't know how to start... Savvy & Griffin... I love the way they met, felt like fate and I really enjoyed it and it was really sweet the way they felt about each other, even with *that* twist. It's like Mr. & Mrs Smith but with magic!

4.5 stars! This story was so cute and fluffy and I can’t wait to officially review it when it’s released in March! Savvy and Griffin were adorable, the villains were unpredictable, there were themes of personal, communal, relational, and familial betrayal, and the relationship the main characters shared with the supporting cast was rich and heartwarming. In this novel, the power and beauty and magic of love shines! My only complaint is that I feel like Claudia got off too easy!

I really wanted to love this book, and was so excited to read it. The premise is amazing…Mr and Mrs Smith but with magic? Great idea. No matter where your Brangelina loyalties lie, we can all agree that Mr and Mrs Smith was a sexy movie. And the girl power from Angelina! We all wanted to be her just a little, did we not? This book tried to emulate that, but with witches and magic hunters. Loved the premise. However, it ended up not being for me.
The story follows Griffin and Savvy, the perfect couple that ends up being not so perfect after all. Griffin is a hunter who works for a secret organization that vows to shut down supernatural threats, including witches. Savvy happens to be a witch, who works for an equally secret organization with the same goals (except they hate the hunters). This conflict is, of course, realized while they are standing at the altar. The book follows them and their friends as they reconcile this, and try to stay alive despite a bounty on both of their heads.
My biggest negative is that the story and characters lacked depth, and their perspectives were loosely held and flip flopped too quickly, which made the romance and passion feel somewhat tepid. It felt hard to connect with and root for Griffin and Savvy. We were told many times how powerful and badass she was supposed to be, but the chaos of the book made it hard to internalize that. There was a lot going on in terms of subplots that was confusing. I still don’t understand what the deal with Melissa was, and I felt like there were elements of the story and thoughts of the main characters that we were supposed to understand, and I just didn’t. Finally, I am a really fast reader, and the way that Ms. Bond writes isn’t necessarily compatible with that. Simple sentences really work for me. They can be long, but she used a lot of asides and turns of phrases in the middle of sentences, which made it hard for me to follow.
I did love how the book went back and forth between times and we saw their relationship develop. That did make you root for Savvy and Griffin as a couple, and the entire world that the author created was so detailed. I also loved the dual points of view. And the supporting characters were set up perfectly for a sequel. If you love light and fluffy books, modern magical realism and chick flicks, and don’t want to get invested, this could be for you. But if you want a real girl power magical adventure romp, maybe keep looking.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

This was a really fun and surprising book! Savvy and Griffin were exploding with chemistry whew! No the paranormal aspect was very different for me and not my usual go to but this book was pleasantly surprising. I thought this was a fun and quick read which highlighted the enemies to lovers trope. Without giving away any spoilers I highly recommend this book.
**Thanks to NetGalley, Gwenda Bond and St. Martin's Press for this ARC in exchange for an honest review**

Much like Mr. and Mrs. Smith, this book follows the story of two people who learn the hard way that their respective careers make them enemies. This book was so much fun, and Savvy and Griffin make the cutest couple. Perfect witchy read.

I love Gwenda Bond's books and Mr. & Mrs. Witch was no exception! It was funny and cute, but it also had quite a bit of history in it, especially about the Salem witch trials and times before that. It was also a story about how love affects our lives and how the people around us think they know what is best for us, but in actuality they do not. The relationship and dynamic between Savvy and Griffin was electric, and I just knew they would be getting back together in the end. I loved this book and I am really hoping there is a sequel!!

First off, I loved the movie Mr. And Mrs. Smith and I love anything witch related so I just knew this book would be up my alley and I was not disappointed. I loved everything about this book- from the writing style, the back and forth between their meet cute/dating history and the current timeline, the absolutely adorable humor/banter, the main characters and the side characters, the action and romance and the fun take on a known story. It just worked. It’s such a fun read.

So I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I was given an ARC by NetGalley and this was an absolutely adorable book.
I always loved the movie Mr and Mrs Smith, so witches and witch hunters retelling? Sign me up!
The writing flowed well and it had just the right amount of angst for me.
I give this one a 4/5 stars and will definitely be reading this author in the future.

I received in eArc in return for my honest review.
3.5 ⭐️
This story was pitched as being a retelling of Mr. and Mrs. Smith which I have only seen once, but I really enjoyed and this book did not let me down.
This book was so much fun! Alternating between Griffin and Savvy and the past and the present seems like a lot, but it flowed really well and was super captivating. So much happened in such a short amount of time but Savvy and Griffin handled it so well. They were both so headstrong and yet would do anything for each other.
I loved how they were in fact enemies in love, without actually realizing they were enemies. I loved the familiars and how they connect with the witches. I loved the bi representation Savvy gave us. I really enjoyed how the coven and the hunters dealt with all the information being thrown at them and how everything played out.
This book definitely kept my attention and was super enjoyable.

Supernatural and romantic retelling of Mr& Mrs. Smith with satisfying outcome! Yes, count me in! A powerful witch falls for geeky, boyish professor and their whirlwind romance sealed with marriage decision but their memorable wedding ceremony turns into the worst nightmare of their lives when secrets start to come out!
Savy/ Savannah, a part of CRONE ( Covert Responses to Occult Nightmares) , independent, self contained witch falls for the enemy. Because Griffin Carter is a secret and resourceful agent, working for a powerful organization targets the witches.
Saying there’s a bad blood between their agencies is not enough to emphasize the threat they both have to deal with!
There’s only two way to get out of this predicament: they can kill each other or they can team up to survive, fighting against the assassins who were sent to take their lives!
Well, this is extremely enjoyable, action packed, smart, exciting popcorn fantasy/ romance reading! I loved this one more than the author’s previous work and I definitely recommend to the fantasy romance lovers!
Special thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press/ St. Martin’s Griffin for sharing this entertaining digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.

god this book was SO much fun. It’s so out of my comfort zone but wow I did not regret it. griffin & savvy serve lovers to enemies to lovers and it was such a delight seeing the way their story begin in the past tense chapters intermingled with the present. savvy is a witch and griffin is a hunter, the way they clash and have these action packed adventures against each other and then together… such a delight. I totally recommend for anyone looking for magic and humor and found family and a top tier romance story that has many twists and turns.

Mr. & Mrs. Witch is an absolute whirlwind of a romance
Savannah and Griffin are awesome👌

Mr. & Mrs. Witch comes out March 07, 2023.

I received an advance copy of Mr. & Mrs. Witch via NetGalley in exchange for a review.
There are a lot of similarities between Mr. & Mrs. Witch and the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith. But I would argue they are not the exact same.
I was expecting a super cheesy pun filled book but this was not cheesy and I really liked the story. The height of the conflict was a little bit of a let down but overall I enjoyed it.

It was a cute book with a good resolution at the end. I knew from the book's description that the main conflict, as is normal in paranormal books, would be that one would be a slayer and the other one would have magical powers. I received a review copy from NetGalley and have left my opinion.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc ebook in exchange for an honest review.
I could not for the life of me get into this. I will try going back to it again, but for now, this is where I’m at.

So I liked this in theory, it was FUN. But it was too long, so while it was fun I just felt like holy crap, just get on with it already. So, maybe 3.25 stars. It was also super enjoyable to imagine Brad and Angie in the lead characters, ala Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

This book was amazing through secrets and feelings of betrayal the main characters have to work together to find their assassins. The chemistry is A++++ if you love the trope lover to enemies to lover again, you will enjoy it!
