Sadly this book is just not for me. I didn't find the characters to be engaging and the fact that it was structured as short stories made it feel very fragmented for me.

I thought this book was truly eye opening to the injustices of black immigrants and the black community in general. Admittedly sometimes it’s challenging for me to see past my white privilege, but books like this are truly incredible for helping me begin to understand the trauma and sadness. Things never taught in school. This is such an important piece of work
