I haven't read many books by Portia MacIntosh but the ones I've read have made me chuckle at the predicaments the characters get themselves into.
In this one Dani's boss/boyfriend dumps her right before Christmas. Haven't these women learned anything, why they keep continuing to date their boss in these books is beyond me. That's one thing that'll never turn out well. With no dates for the holiday, she's got it all planned, with her extra time she'll go visit her parents for the holiday and just show up as a lovely surprise. The surprise is on her though when she finds out her surprise visit is a bust as her parents are not home but on holiday themselves without telling her. Deciding to stay there while they holiday, she runs into old friends and acquaintances. She's hopeful a romance may just come knocking this Christmas season for a little kissing under the fairy lights. Cute, romantic seasonal read packed with humor.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

Fun, festive read which made me giggle throughout.

The plot initially didn't make sense, I wasn't sure why she was trying to hide that she was home herself, but as it developed it came toegther.
An easy 3 star rating from me.

This was extremely cute and cozy! I loved the concept of a woman showing up to her parents' house for the holidays and finding them away for Christmas. I didn't really understand why the FMC was so determined to hide that she was in the house alone from everyone, but outside of that, I had a really fun time reading this. Worth picking up for a warm, quick holiday read!

Single All The Way by Portia MacIntosh

Single All the Way is a super fun holiday romance that I gobbled up in just a couple days! I loved the setting and thought the premise was fun and unique. I didn't like the hero right away, but he grew on me. He and Dani were very cute together. The neighborhood was endearing. I loved how British the story was, too!

This was a cute festive read with a cute romance and the expected, typical romance thrown in. I found it quite fun to read. It was definitely an easy read! There were a few issues I had with it regarding the behaviours in the workplace that I felt weren't that realistic but maybe I'm being picky! On the whole if you're looking for a cute, easy to read festive romantic comedy then I'd suggest giving it a go!
Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for the chance to review this.

This book had a lot of potential but I don't think any of the elements had enough development to really allow me to enjoy the book. The fake dating is fun but then the fake boyfriend is absent most of the book except via zoom, this limits the romantic tension building and stunted the development of the relationship in my opinion. A secondary potential love interest is introduced but we also spend no time with them and there is never any believable romantic tension built. It was frustrating as it is clear to see the bones of a good story, it just felt quickly cobbled together which is a shame. I was also quite frustrated with the main character, there was absolutely no need to lie about a party and then have to cobble something together at the last minute, it did not make any sense. It was easy to read however and I have very much enjoyed the author in the past so will continue to pick up their work. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for providing an early copy of the ebook for review.

A cute, enjoyable Christmas read. Could have done with a bit more of the romance between Dani and Rex, but I still enjoyed it. Loved her family, (her dad’s rivalry with the neighbour over the Christmas lights was a fun touch). Hated her boss and co workers (would anyone really put up with being treated like that??).really loved the setting, and the author did a stelljob of describing it all and setting the scene. Delightful book.

I absolutely adore Portia's Christmas romances, and this was another hit for me. While I felt it started a little slow, it really picked up for me about 10pc in. I loved watching Dani organise the party and reconnect with friends from her past, and revisiting Hope Beach and Marram Bay was such a lovely experience.

Short and sweet, I loved this book.

I enjoy Portias books, they are always entertaining, fun and full of interesting antics. This festive tale is another that’s full of crazy and daft things.
I like the pop culture references that had me thinking back to my younger days. They aren’t the most endearing of characters, I didn’t love nor hate them.
A fun, quirky, story and nice festive tale.

Portia MacIntosh is one of my favorite authors - her stories always entertain! This festive book is of the same high standard as her others, with an equally good plot line and nicely rounded characters.
It is funny, wittily written, easy to read and has a satisfying Happy-Ever-After ending.

Christmas, Romance and Laughter.... what more could you want? I think if i had to pick my RomCom book for 2022 this would be a contender and it would definitely win the Christmas RomCom prize. I loved it and I can easily picture several scenes vividly and they keep making me smile and giggle.

I hope this story will be made into a RomCom Christmas movie. It would be perfect for it! Most of Portia's books that I have read have been solid 4 star books, but this one just had everything I could have wanted in it. The characters, the setting, the story, the community, the romance and the many funny moments. RomCom that was both romantic and funny.

This book is just pure Christmas escapism and one you do not want to miss out on!

If you are looking for a fun and festive read, then you need to read Portia MacIntosh’s Single All the Way.

I always love a Portia MacInosh book because I know I am in for a rom-com that will have me laughing and swoony at the same time. Single All the Way has all the charm and wit that I come to expect from Portia’s books. The story checks off all those things I expect from my rom-com books, and I loved the festive twist to the story. There were times when I felt it dragged a bit, but overall I can see myself reading this book every holiday season.

Initially, I wasn't sure about this book. However, it ended up really gripping me! I couldn't wait to find out what would happen with the main character. I had to keep reading to find out what would happen next!
This book is a light-hearted, warm and funny story which is perfect for the holiday period! I would definitely recommend this book if you want a nice, entertaining read to curl up on the sofa with.
Thank you to Portia MacIntosh and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

As mentioned earlier, this is an author whose writing is one that I find myself enjoying. The story does not begin auspiciously with Christmas round the corner and our leading lady just having been dumped by her secret boyfriend/boss.
While she fumes over her situation, her work life is not much better. She makes an impulse decision to surprise her parents for Christmas. In the narrow window between the two events, she ends up agreeing to fake date another superior (this would have been a little off-putting if taken seriously, but here taken in the light tone it was meant, I found it entertaining.
Dani decides to make the best of a bad situation and starts announcing to everyone that she is throwing a Christmas bash, which does not necessarily go the way she plans.
It is not a book that takes itself too seriously. Office politics only come into the narrative as a way to advance the fake dating trope. The romance built up slowly and was believable.
The party aspect was a little odd, the way Dani persists in talking about it, although the ending does help put some extra dimensions to the situation.
All the supporting cast was entertaining as well. Dani has not been home in years and lost touch with all the people she once knew well. They are now the people who stayed behind, but the things that have achieved in the meantime in that small world are given a little bit of focus.
I think fans of the author and of this genre will find this an amusing read.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience of this and other works by the author.
