This was a short read but it really packs a punch. I didn’t know where the story is going but I was captivated from the get go.

This story is narrated by Jessica Lee, who recently got let go from her banking investment role at BJ Maroon. She started off by introducing what a male dominated role her workplace is. A place where they do not make accommodation for women and a place where men can get away with most things. With the extra time on her hands, she then received an email informing her that her husband, Kenneth, is a serial cheater, which shocked Jessica to the core…Feeling dissatisfied, she kept digging for more clues and she ended up with more than she bargained for, putting her own life in danger. She doesn’t understand why she became a target and wants an end to all this but is this just an issue of cheating or is there something more sinister behind it all?

I enjoyed this so much and I wished it was longer! But the story ended with a promise of a sequel so I am pretty excited for that. I was also shocked that this was a memoir because everything that happened in this book is so crazy and disturbing! I love Jessica’s character so much. She is a persistent woman who doesn’t give up even when the circumstances turned on her. Instead, she found strength and pushed on till she get some definite answers and hell hath no fury like a female scorned! Kenneth better be scared! I don’t want to give too much of the plot away but I am definitely looking forward to reading the sequel! Go Jessica!

Thank you Netgalley and BooksGoSoclal for the arc.

It looked like an ordinary email. But when she opened it, a Hong Kong housewife unwittingly uncovered a decade's old plot to blackmail her and her husband. Determined to find out who was responsible, she soon finds herself thrust into a shadowy underworld of sex, lies, and dirty money.

The men who had orchestrated the plot thought that because she was a woman, she was weak. But when she began uncovering their web of deception, they realized the old adage really is true - hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

They gave her a nickname... the Alpha Female.

This is her incredible true story. Overall 4 stars.

Well, this was a fast and compelling read. It’s only essay length so it left me wanting more. I absolutely will read part two, three, etc. until I get to the end of the story. It’s mind blowing that this is a true story. The chapters are short, and several had really great one-liners to end them which I thought was great.

This is the incredible true story of a housewife living in Hong Kong who discovers her husband has been cheating on her, but not just that, someone is trying to blackmail her and her husband. Once she starts following the thread of deception, it just keeps going. As soon as you think things can’t get worse, they do. As the problems go deeper, the housewife at the center of this story becomes more determined and won’t stop until she uncovers the truth, all of the truth.

The writing is sharp, but also somewhat stilted. I think if part two, three, etc. get published and all are put together, it will be an excellent read. For now, it fell a little short for me, but I’m interested to read the rest of this story and see more from this author.

This is a short story that’s very well told, I was captivated with the story and the way it was told. Jessica Lee is a busy mother, taking care of her kids and their activities after being let go from her job working at BJ Maroon, an international investment banking firm. BJ Maroon is a boy’s club type of workplace, they like their extramarital women and they don’t like to cater to women. Which is why when Jessica gets a tumor and has to leave work for a while to have surgery and get better, then she gets pregnant after that, the men at BJ Maroon end up pushing her out but before she goes she turns in some people to the HR department and investigations are made, setting off a chain of events of people trying to ruin Jessica’s life.

Jessica is married, happily. They have sex a lot and seem really in love until Jessica gets undenyable proof that her husband is a serial cheater. Jessica’s husband, Kenneth, is a doctor with an insatiable appetite for sexual misdeeds. Being a doctor, you would think he would be smarter, but he thinks with his penis and that gets him and by extension his whole family in trouble. See, he’s been seeing honeypots, women that are only sleeping with him to get blackmail videos on him. Jessica knows that these women are honeypots, just sleeping with her husband because it’s their job but what she doesn’t know is why. Is it because of the bridges she burned working at BJ Maroon? Is it because Kenneth comes from a wealthy family? Is it something bigger than that?

I liked this book, I wish it was longer but I'm excited to read the rest of the series. While looking up more about the book I was reminded that this is a nonfiction memoir which blows my mind. This was supposed to be a sophisticated blackmail plot but Jessica didn't immediately open the email and what kind of sorry excuse for a husband cheats on his wife, especially when she has a brain tumor and is taking care of their kids. In the book, Jessica is given the codename Alpha Female and I love that for her because she definitely seems like an alpha. Even funnier is Kenneth's codename of Snow White. I'll have to read the rest of the series to find out what happens to Ken and Jessica. I know Jessica will be fine but I still want to know her story.

3.5
That was a ride and it's not done yet!

Make no mistake, Jess is a woman scorned (and I winced every time she said "whore") but it doesn't take away from the crazy story. At times her story and journey sound outlandish but so outlandish it has to be true, I mean she's talking about Jeffrey Epstein's friends and we thought Epstein was outlandish until it wasn't.
I liked her no no nonsense writing style, fast paced fact after fact, no dilly dallying in small details or unnecessary background, all made for a quick read.

Grab your popcorn and buckle up for this read.

If you have unfortunately ever caught your husband watching porn and got irritated, then you really need to read the alpha female by Jessica Berner-Lee. They say hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, but they would have to invent a new word and they met Jessica. She roared when grown man coward and kept going. When she what’s blackmailed she turned the tables and dive in headfirst to find out with whom he cheated and then ultimately who was behind it. This was an awesome book I really don’t want to get any of the particulars away just know Jessica is honest and bad ass and definitely an alpha female. Just to give you a little hint this whole story is connected to Jeffrey Epstein and the me two movement. I really never liked autobiographies that come in parts, but signed me up for Book2 of Jessica lays autobiography. I can’t say enough how great this book was it is a total five story she is no wilting flower and someone who demands respect and she definitely has mine. I received this book from net Gally and the publisher but I am leaving this review totally voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review but all opinions are definitely my own. This book is totally bad ass!!!

The story unfolds as Jessica who is married to a wealthy husband Kenneth, has a very good job herself and the couple have two children. Jessica’s curiosity gets the better of her and Jessica has no idea that the minute she opens this email, and the contents are revelled her life as she knew it will be turned upside down and will never be the same again.
Jessica’s husband Kenneth who is having multiple affairs, will take you on many a bizarre turn with levels of deceit, lies, sexual misconduct, blackmail, and manipulation. There are definitely plenty of twists and turns in this book, to keep you turning the pages and you will be astonished at the extent people will go to harm this famous Hong Kong family, just truly extraordinary.
When a husband cheats on his wife, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned
Jessica is an extremely talented writer, who has experience it all, and shares her very personal raw emotional feelings as her life’s unravels after opening the email. This has gained Jessica the nickname the Alpha Female. Also, the writing is extremely engaging and keeps you immersed in the story as Jessica experiences it all. I am looking forward to the next instalment Part 2 due out later this year (2022) and I will certainly be looking forward to reading it.

Wow, this is definitely not a typical story of husband cheats on wife, wife wants divorce. It goes way deeper and more involved than that. What a complicated puzzle. I don't want to give any spoilers so I'm not saying much.
Part 1 of the story and I definitely want to read the rest of the story.

A quick but crazy read about a woman’s experiences with learning about a plot involving her husband and the many bizarre turns it takes. A fascinating tale with more to come.

The Alpha Female Files by Jessica Burner Lee.

This isn't at all a long book, and it caught my attention from the start. However, it isn't for the faint of heart.
It's a review that has to be carefully written because it could easily give away what it is all about, but let's just say it wasn't what I expected (not that it is necessarily a bad thing) and it is based on true events! So, reading it all made it even more amazing as to what it was dealing with. The style of writing is engaging and helps keep you immersed in the story. There were solid twists in how it developed and how it changed trajectories on dealing with the problem.

Had that been me, I'm not sure how I would've reacted. My heart dropped for this woman. Seeing her reaction and how she dealt with it was handled with real courage and conviction was impressive.
There is a part 2 due out later this year (2022) and I will certainly be looking to read it.
I have no hesitation on saying, for me, this is a 5/5 star read ⭐️
