Det. Madison Harper is one sharp detective! And that serial killer was one fucked up dude! This was a great twisty & turny ride and everyone should read it! I now have to go back and read the first 4 books in the series b/c I just jumped into book 5. I can't wait to see what she gets up to in those books! I am definitely loving this author!

This book deserves everyone of it's five stars it's a cracker!

It hooked me in from the first to the last page.

This is book five in the series and I've picked this one up from book three and have yet to be disappointed.

Wendy has a talent of writing absorbing thrillers that are engaging and relentless in a good way.

This was another great addition to the series but am hoping that in further books Madison develops more emotionally.📖📖

FANTASTIC police procedural addition to this great series of which I have read all & totally RECOMMEND highly. Suspenseful, with terrific characters in a mind boggling plot. Kudos to a superb author. Thanks to #NetGalley &#Bookouture for this ARC in return for my honest review.

Oh this is an absolutely brilliant, extremely addictive read. I'm hooked to this series and will read anything by this author and this book - wow! One of the best I've read this year. Five stars are not enough.

Another gripping novel with Madison Harper running from 1 bizarre crime scene to another. Why are the little boys left untouched while their mothers killed?
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this arc

I LOVE this series! This is the 5th book and they just get better. This book has so many twists and turns. I don't care for Madison's new partner at all. I like the relationship between her and Nate and hope it grows. I thank Netgalley for the advanced copy. I strongly recommend this book and the whole series

I love this series. Though you can read this one as stand alone - I recommend reading in order. It helps to understand the interrelationships but also get you obsessed with this series!
Madison is about to celebrate her first Christmas with her son, Owen, in years. A killer uses the holiday to bring more attention to his victims. A young mother is found dead from a brutal assault. While seating in the driver's seat. Her toddler son strapped in his carseat.
With few leads, Madison struggles with her frustration. Then he kills another mom. With her child standing by.
Flashbacks to a case her father worked in the 1990s adds another element of suspense.
Such an amazing book! Cannot recommend enough!!

A masterpiece in fear.
This takes you down a dark scary path that is your worst nightmare. It’s filled with twists and turns and shadows lurking. Some of the best literary characters are with you on this journey to find a deranged soul. Jaw dropping and gripping from page one. You can’t put this down. Just bloody amazing!
Stayed up all night to read this one

Catch Her Death is the fifth book in the Detective Madison Harper series. It can be read as a standalone book but I would recommend reading the previous books as they are all fantastic.
Catch Her Death is a fast paced, turn pager that, as with previous books in this series, I could not put down. I love the characters and reading about their progression. I highly recommend Catch Her Death and all the previous books in this series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

Gosh, I have just finished this book, and wow! What an explosive ending, which has left me in tatters! I feel so much loss!!

This story is a sad and twisted story, once you find out the truth! It’s dark and cold, and completely heartbreaking too. I had no idea of who the “killer” might be until 2 pages before Madison found out and then I was kicking myself for not realising sooner! It was just horrific.

So many emotions and storylines to take in and I just don’t think I can process this. Nate has a semi-completion to his storyline which was completely bittersweet and I have a feeling, it’s not quite as resolved as we are led to believe. We have Madison and her Dad, building on their relationship, Owen getting a job, and generally growing up! Plus the murders of these women, with no apparent link……. Just be prepared, and maybe have a couple of tissues when you get near the end. This book will toy with you before leaving you unprepared for what is about to happen!

I have been a HUGE fan of Wendy’s for so many years now and each book is just getting better and better. I still want to see Dean again but as I have said, Nate is a decent replacement, for now. 😉 I love watching these characters grow and adapt to their new lives on the outside. What I do love about this series is that we don’t forget they are still in turmoil, still living with their demons due to both wrongful convictions. We see them at their lowest, and it’s realistic. Their lives do not just go back to being all pretty and smelling of flowers and that is what I enjoy about this series the realism! I am instantly swept up into any storyline Wendy writes, I mean I would read anything she writes. We are always hooked straight off the bat and the book doesn’t even let go when you read that final word. I can’t wait to see what is next for the duo, hopefully, some good news, but I know that there may be trouble ahead.

Fantastic series, fantastic author. Just read it!

I was hoping that this novel, the 5th in Wendy Dranfield's series featuring detective Madison Harper would be equally as good as the first four instalments and to my great delight, it was!

It's a freezing and snowy winter's day just before Christmas Eve and Madison, a detective at Lost Creek Police Department is on her way home, but gets called to a crime scene; she is in the car park of the shopping mall, looking at the victim, a woman with a head injury in her thirties wearing jeans and a once white T-shirt, under a winter coat. Forensic technician, Alex Parker tells Madison that the dead woman is Sarah Moss, identified from her driving license, and her toddler was in the car with her.

Wendy Dranfield has once again penned a remarkable tale with so many twists that I could not put it down. The plot is enthralling and the subplots are all woven together superbly creating a compulsive, dark, psychological police procedural. With the tension levels on the upwards ratchet, there are tonnes of action and drama. Truly brilliant.

Thank you to Bookouture for my copy of this book via Netgalley and for letting me take part in this tour. How are we already at the 5th book in this series? I absolutely love Detective Maddison Harper and friend Nate Monroe. If you haven’t read the previous books you could read this as a standalone but you will have a better enjoyment if you have read all the books.

I really felt for Maddison in this book. She was a step behind the killer from the very beginning. If only her dad had been less proud then maybe they could have worked together to catch the killer.

This book doesn’t let up at all. The weather really helps to build the tension and being set on the days around Christmas just makes it all the more heartbreaking. Wendy really pulls you in and has you questioning everyone. It’s fast-paced and filled with suspense from the very first page.
The motive behind these crimes is quite fascinating, as well as horrifying, from a psychological perspective.

If you are looking for a crime thriller which will have you hooked from the beginning til the end then look no further! An excellent addition to the series and I cannot wait for the next one!

The deeper Madison digs, the closer she gets to a serial killer her own father spent a lifetime chasing. Has the killer followed her father here? Could Madison, single mother to a son herself, be next?
This is the 5th book in the Detective Madison Harper series. It is a book that has interesting characters and lots of twists and turns that kept me reading until the surprised ending. Madison's father has been in Alaska but she finally meets up with him again when he follows the serial killer back to Lost Creek, Colorado. Find out what happens to him and the serial killer as they hunt him down. I'm looking forward to the next book of the series as Madison and Nate are drawing closer together. If you like mystery thrillers then you will love this book. I would like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for a copy for an honest review.

The past: A little boy witnesses the brutal murder of his mother as he plays with his Christmas toy train. The present: Detective Madison Harper is called to the scene of a young mother who has been murdered as she sat in her car with her young son. The murder is tragic, but the killer did not harm the little boy. Madison continues to deal with her unjust conviction and the time she spent in prison, a new detective and her father’s return to the area. Her love for Nate Monroe, who also unjustly spent time in prison and was responsible for her overturned conviction, is still a little rocky as they try to blend her career with his work as an investigator. When another mother is murdered with her young son nearby, do they have a twisted serial killer? If so, they must stop them before they can kill again. Madison slowly pieces together the scarce clues as cases from the past come to light. Will she be able to find the killer who has been able to elude detection and arrest? Amazing series! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

As always, Wendy Dranfield has crafted a solid book featuring the unlikely team of Madison and Nate - two damaged people who continue to fight on, despite the odds. I am very glad that I have read this series from the beginning, and I urge other readers to do the same, although this book can be read as a standalone as well.

Madison has a new partner at work, and she isn't sure if he is a good fit for her, or for the department. Nate has some things to work through, and just when they start getting closer, he pulls away. However, the bond with her dad is strengthening after many years apart and she is enjoying how her son interacts with him.

Of course, there is the little matter of murder getting in the way of her complicated family and friends tangle and Madison is tasked with tracking down a serial killer, someone who quite possibly holds her best friend hostage as well.

Great book, all the threads made sense. I am already looking forward to the next one!

4.5 stars from me.

p.s. So sorry for the loss of Sookie. I am a big cat lover too.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture.

Must read page turner!!!
Wendy Dranfield’s Detective Madison Harper series always delivers a intense, nail biting story!
Catch Her Death starts out with the gruesome murder of a young mother with the killer leaving her 4 year old alive in his car seat. And then similar murders occur which has Madison scrambling to find out what is going on in her town. So many questions arise. Could Madisons father have a connection to what is going on? Is there a serial killer? Madison needs answers and to find the killer. What doesn't help is Madison has been assigned a new partner who is just not helping her out very much.
I really need the relationship between Madison and Nate to go somewhere! I hope in the next book we get to see if they get together-together or not. I’m on team get together!
If you are interested in reading a awesome police procedural crime series, you need to read this series starting from book 1.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and author, Wendy Dranfield, for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions and thoughts expressed are my own.

Catch Her Death (Detective Madison Harper Book 5) by Wendy Dranfield

Genre: General Fiction (Adult) | Mystery & Thrillers

Catch Her Death is the 5th book in the Detective Madison Harper series by Wendy Dranfield. This book can be read as a standalone mystery, but all of the previous books are so good that I recommend reading them all together. (Thanks to Kindle Unlimited I was able to read the whole series (so far) in under 4 days!)

I absolutely love the Detective Madison Harper books and Catch Her Death is my favorite (so far)! Madison is such a unique and fascinating character! Her life experiences have definitely changed how she views the world and her approach to her detective work. Madison is supported by great people, such as her friend Nate and her son Owen. They bring so much to the story! (There is so much I want to say, but I refuse to give away any spoilers!)

This is such a fast paced read and I could not put it down. I was able to read this one in like 8 hours because I refused to do anything else! The mystery was intense! I loved the twists and turn and how many layers were involved in this!

I highly recommend reading this if you enjoy crime dramas! 5 Stars! I can't wait for the next book to be released because I am hooked!!!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I'm already a huge fan of this series, having read all five books now, and I think it continues to go from strength to strength. I honestly think Catch Her Death is my favourite in the series so far!

Just before Christmas, a little boy is found unharmed in the back of a car, his mum dead in the front. Madison is tasked with investigating during one of the worst snowstorms they've had in a long time in the small town of Lost Creek. More bodies turn up, similar to the first, which could mean she has a serial killer on her hands.

This book was absolutely packed with tension that once I picked it up, I just couldn't put it down. I had to know what happened next!

The relationship between Madison and her PI friend Nate gets more and more complicated with each book. Will they get it together? Won't they? I'm very much looking forward to seeing what Wendy Dranfield has in store next for the pair.

The ending was just... wow. I'm still a bit emotional about it, to be honest!

Catch Her Death is a hard-hitting police procedural that pulls you in from that very first chapter and doesn't let up for a second throughout. I'm already eagerly awaiting the next book!

How am I just discovering this author!?! I loved “Catch Her Death!” It chilled me to the bone, and it was so scary I couldn’t read it right before bed.

“Catch Her Death,” is about a detective who is tasked with catching a serial killer who is killing moms in front of their children. While a very disturbing premise, it was not too much for me as a mom. I liked the main character, Detective Madison, so much that it was easy to be on her side. I also loved the element of her complicated relationship with her father.

The pacing of this book is great, and best of all- I didn’t figure out who the killer was! This is the perfect read for this “spooky” time of year! Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the copy of this in exchange for an honest review.
