This was enjoyable from start to finish. Great characters, great plot, great read. This was the first Portia Macintosh book that I've read and I'll certainly be picking up more now. I highly recommend Just Date and See.

I found this to be an interesting read, however I did not feel like I connected with the characters, which for me it's very important in a romance. this one just did not work for me. It felt really slow and like it was a chore to pick it up and read more chapters where nothing happened, the plot wasn't engaging either.

This was a fun, easy romance which I read through speedily. I'd recommend to any rom com fans. While it wasn't ground breaking in terms of plot twists or originality, it was entertaining and delivered most of what you'd want for a romance novel.

Fun story even though the beginning and the end were kinda of odd to me, they just didn't fit.
But the middle of this book was entertaining, witty with so much humor.
We have Rocco and Billie. Billie is trying to stay away from her unwanted guests, so she signed up for daily social events through a dating app. She is at a Single event where she meets Rocco and she tries to friendzone him, which I guess is bc she wasn't really looking for romance but good thing there was no real success.
I have enjoyed so many books by the author; Portia MacIntosh. This one was good but not my favourite.
I know others are really gonna like this book though, so you should give it a chance.

I am glad to have the opportunity to read this book, thanks to the publisher and NetGalley. The above review is my own opinion, honest and voluntary.

Portion Macintosh is one of my go to authors, I absolutely love her writing and this one was no exception.

Another fabulous read, I really click with her writing style and have even got my sister to start reading her books!

I always love picking up a Portia MacIntosh book, knowing that I am in for a good time. Whilst I did slightly baulk when I realised this was a Christmas book, I decided to dive straight in and see what it was all about.

For the most part, this is all about Billie escaping into the world of mass dating: social meet-ups for singletons in her area. Desperate to escape the house invasion after she had envisaged a quiet Christmas in her new home, pyjamas and all, Billie jumps in with both feet and figures hanging out with those looking for love is a far better option than being stuck in her now mad-house. I loved the different scenarios that MacIntosh describes and found the bingo hall particularly entertaining – and toe-curling too! From cooking to a strange house party, Billie certainly has adventures far beyond what she was expecting, making this a really fun read.

Although set at Christmas, I think the emphasis was more on the dating than the festive time of year. True, there are descriptions of supermarket madness (so very true!), the decorations and excessive foods that apparently must be purchased at this time of year, but I think this all added to the atmosphere of the story and I found I didn’t really mind reading this Christmas book so early in the year. (Or maybe I am late for last year?!)

Not only do we watch Billie and her fun dates with Rocco and her new friends, I liked how the subplots were equally entertaining. The battles she has with her neighbour take a different turn when her sister shows an interest in him; Billie just cannot fathom why there is a romantic connection. There’s also the strange relationship occurring between her divorced parents and then when Declan, Billie’s ex-boyfriend, arrives at the house, I could completely understand her frustration and desperation to escape! Furthermore, when Christmas day arrives and everyone gathers together, I knew there would be fireworks – just not the ones that MacIntosh delivers as the plot twists were definitely unexpected.

I loved this quick, fun read that is definitely MacIntosh true to form. The characters and scenarios were entertaining and I found I could not put the book down, desperate to see what would happen next in Billie’s mad-cap life.

With thanks to Boldwood books and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Smart, sassy, funny... describes this book perfectly! Another great read from one of my favourite authors.

I loved Billie, but the supporting cast of characters were equally as wonderful, and the situations she found herself in were hilarious. There were also a few surprises along the way that I simply didn't see coming and added to the chaos.

A Christmas read that can be enjoyed any time of the year.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I found this to be an intereting read, but I just could not connect with the characters. Craziness, insues. Don't judge people as you never know what people are dealing with. I will try others by this author, but this one just didn't click for me. 3 stars

I need to start this review by stating that I LOVE Portia MacIntosh. She is an author that is an instant purchase/read for me.

So, I didn’t gel with this book, which shocked me. I think if it was an unknown author I might not have finished the book. However, knowing what a brilliant author Portia MacIntosh is, I carried on. I struggled to fully engage with the first half of the book. On reflection, I think there was too much about the house and her relationship with her mum. It was around the 55-60% mark where I felt connected.

The last 30-40% of the book was great and it would’ve been nice if the dates prior to Christmas and Christmas Day were the focus of the book.

I loved the twist with Rocco and didn’t see that coming whatsoever.

Overall, this was a nice read. It certainly hasn’t affected my opinion of the author and I will continue racing to read her work as soon as new titles are published!!

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for my advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review 📚

Another warm and fuzzy read from Portia MacIntosh, her romantic comedies never disappoint me!

Billie is looking forward to a nice quiet man free Christmas in her newly renovated house however Billie’s family have a completely different Christmas in mind. When not only her mum needs a place to stay over Christmas and then her sister Jess turns up too Billie resigns herself to a rather different Christmas then she expected. However, when suddenly her dad and his new wife need somewhere to stay due to a plumbing issue as well, Billie needs a reason to be at home as little as possible and suddenly remembers an alert she got from her unused dating app Matcher about Mingle All The Way. In the week up to Christmas, Matcher is running a singles night event every evening with a different activity and Billie decides that’s the perfect way to get out of the house and away from all her relatives and stay sane in the lead up to Christmas. However, she doesn’t count on making friends and meeting Rocco. Sparks fly and she begins to look forward to the events and the fun her and Rocco have together but when neither is being honest about their intentions for signing up for the events can their fledgling relationship be more than just for Christmas or is Rocco a gift that Billie will need to return once the holidays are over?!

I really enjoyed this one! As usual, with Portia MacIntosh’s books, I got the “feel good factor” feeling I always get when reading her books pretty early on in the story and that continued throughout the whole book. Also, as usual I ended up laughing out loud multiple times, one example of this was during the description of the clingfilm wrapped Christmas tree! The speed dating was hilarious as was the Eiffel Tower Party…. Although I was clued in about the latter very quickly when I read the name of the house, just a shame Billie and Rocco didn’t figure it out quicker! I am not used to having a twist in a rom-com but this book delivered a great twist near the end that I didn’t see coming so I really enjoyed that. As strange as it sounds I actually learnt things from this book too, firstly that I will never EVER attend an Eiffel Tower Party and secondly to use a coat hanger to do up the back of a dress I can’t reach- that is a game changer and I can’t believe I have never heard about that before!

Overall a really enjoyable read and I would definitely recommend this for any reader of romantic comedies who fancies an escape from the real world. I can’t wait to read Portia MacIntosh’s next book.

Thank you to NetGalley, Portia MacIntosh and Boldwood books for my advanced reading copy. Out now.

A perfect light hearted rom com… Billie wanted a quiet man free Christmas and she got everything but that! I loved the humour throughout the story and had some real laugh out loud moments.

This is my second Portia MacIntosh book, I really enjoy her style of writing. It’s such an easy, enjoyable read. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more

I had so much fun reading this book by Portia MacIntosh! Oh yes, I really enjoyed myself all throughout the book! This book is full of goofy situations, funny misunderstandings, and the main characters are really likeable! If you are looking for a fun read to light up your days, this will be the perfect book! Also, I have to add that up until the end, many events that you would not see coming are taking place! Loved that! 4 stars out of 5 for this story!

Fantastic festive read! Light hearted and full of fun. I loved all of the characters in this book! This would be easy to read in one go. Many proper laugh out loud moments and I was definitely wondering at points who would pop up in the story next. Laid back read with a lovely flow to the story. Great book!

Thank you Netgalley

Portia Macintosh is back with a fun, flirty and fabulous romantic comedy, Just Date and See.

Christmas is just around the corner and Billie cannot help but go Bah Humbug, thanks to her family who seem intent on ruining the holiday for her! With her nearest and dearest descending upon her, Billie’s plans for a quiet man-free Christmas end up going up in smoke. She is desperate for an escape and cannot bear the thought of having to make small talk with her dad’s new wife or dealing with her mum’s mid-life crisis. As for her sister, she is far too busy flirting with her arrogant next-door neighbour to be of any help dealing with their parents. Billie needs to find a way out of the house to get some respite from her family and she might just have found the perfect solution: a whole week of singles nights in her area!

Romance might have been the last thing on Billie’s mind, but there is simply nothing she won’t do to get out of the house – even fall head over heels in love! Between disco bowling and boozy bingo, Billie is going to have a Christmas she will never ever forget – hopefully for all the right reasons!

Portia MacIntosh’s romantic comedy are absolutely fantastic and she knocks it out of the park with Just Date and See. A festive contemporary romance with a difference, Just Date and See is full of holiday mischief, laugh-out loud humour and naughty shenanigans that will keep readers hooked.

A terrific romp that readers will struggle to put down, Portia MacIntosh gets it right yet again with her latest romantic comedy, Just Wait and See.

This was a cute holiday read but I didn't love it. I liked the plot but didn't enjoy the ending.
