A wonderful book about Cassie a single mother of two grown up children and there life around the boatyard and their love of yachts. Cassie’s life has revolved around everyone but herself for over 20 years and with encouragement from her family realises she needs more. But will friendship turn to love or the expensive gift giver find her heart. After worrying about her son doing an around the world yacht race but being injured on land, her daughter decides she wants to uphold the family honour, yet more stress and worry for poor Cassie.
I enjoyed the pace of the story, getting to know all about life on board a yacht and the pitfalls they can experience

I feel a bit torn about this one. At times, I really enjoyed the story, loved the sailing races and references and the picture of multi generational family life. But it was really busy with a lot of characters I struggles at first to keep track of and whose storylines I’m not sure added overall. It was also a little but twee at points - the decision to get married after a slow burning relationship all felt a bit too neatly finished and tied with a bow….overall I did enjoy it though.

This is a rewrite of this authors earlier novel The Call of the Sea. Set on the River Dart estuary, it is a family story of sailing and the challenges that competitive sailing presents. As someone who knows nothing about that world, I found it interesting and informative as well as entertaining.

A sweet family story based around sailing and the sea. We follow Cassie, widowed 20 years ago when her husband died in a sailing accident, and her two children. A good story about love and family.

This was my
First book by this author and won’t be my last and always lovely to find a new author.

This was the perfect cosy escapism read with a fabulous storyline loved how the sailing and the locations all fitted seamlessly into the back drop off the story and how it focused on overcoming adversity, love and loss and of achieving your dreams and how anything is possible with friendship family and the right people beside you.

I read this in almost one sitting as once I had started reading I couldn’t put it down

I would love a sequel to this to see how the future pans out for
Cassie and James and for polly and Dexter.

This book was sent to me by Netgalley for review…thanks to the publisher for the electronic copy. This is a book of family dynamics, love and romance, and most of all, sailing…the protagonist is a likable character, and I enjoyed following her changing story…the rest of the family have their own problems…and triumphs…along with disappointments and blessing…this is a fun read with real life people…it reads like a true story…I enjoyed this book…it is a cannot put down story of a family…if I could give his book more than five stars, I would…it is such a pleasant read…appropriate and heartwarming…I hope there is a sequel.
