3.5 🌟

The cat and mouse game continues in The Atonement after Ainsley’s attempt to start a new life. Things have gotten messy between Peter and Ainsley and you can’t help but wonder who is being the unreliable narrator? Who can you trust? What will happen to the Greenburgs?

This was a great end to the trilogy, despite the fact that I didn’t love one of the big plot twists and found that this book lacked the same thrill as the previous two.

I love that the narrators stayed the same from the beginning, which contributed to me loving the audiobooks!

Thank you again, NetGalley!

Peter and Ainsley.. these two are so much fun to read about! Every book I enjoy more than the last, they are so deliciously bad. Kiersten Modglin tells us this is the final book of the series, but she's also the queen of twists, so is it really? The story is a bit like a cat and mouse game - Ainsley just wants to get away and keep her kids safe, and Peter just wants to make up and love her and take care of his family. So what could possibly go wrong? George Newbern and Sarah Mollo-Christensen as narrators did a fantastic job of becoming Peter and Ainsley and keeping us entertained with their earnestness.. I think I spent about half of this book chuckling and gasping at what they would do next.

I loved the Arrangement, the first installment in this trilogy. I couldn’t wait to see how Kiersten Modglin would twist the tale further. Unfortunately, I do feel Peter & Ainsley’s story could have ended there. I was let down by both the Amendment, and this final part to the trilogy, the Atonement. I think she went a little Tom far off course. And with most great books (the Arrangement was a 5 star rating from me) the sequel usually doesn’t live up to the memory.

This has been quite a riveting trilogy. I read The Arrangement in print, but was able to listen to The Amendment on audio as well as this last installment. The narrators are top notch and really added to the entertainment value. If you have been following along, you know that the second book ended with quite a cliffhanger. The cat and mouse feel of this new release had me listening whenever I was walking the dog, doing housework, cooking, gardening, etc. I had to know if Ainsley or Peter would ultimately win. Along the way there are some really great twists, a few eye-rollers, and a plot hole or two. Are you Team Ainsley or Team Peter? Only one of them will get what they want. Who will it be?

A big thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for an audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This series rocks! I love all of the back and forth between Ansley and Peter. You honestly never know which one is more crazy or who is going to kill the other. Love it!

The Atonement by Kiersten Modglin

First I want to say that I did go back and read the other two books in the series. I thought the first book was really good the idea of having an open marriage it pulled me in. Then I felt in book 2 and 3 that it drifted way to far to crazy town. Peter and Ainsley have sort of a sick pact that they make with each other in their marriage. First they agree to in an arrangement with having an open marriage. That did not work out the way they thought it would. Then when that does work out they make a pact with each other to stay together and continue to work through their problems.

Ainsley has basically had enough with Peter as we head into book three nothing has changed like she thought it would. She decides to take the kids and leave. It isn't as simple as just getting a divorce for the couple oh no. Their secrets need to keep them together. Ainsley doesn't agree she wants out now and is willing to tell the secrets to be free of Peter.

Though the book went into crazy town for me it was still entertaining a bit far fetch but I can see some crazy couple like this do it this way. Even though I myself would not. Will Ainsley succeed in leaving her husband Peter? Or will Peter keep Ainsley trapped? I do suggest reading all three books or you will not that good of an idea what is happening between the couple and why. Who will atone for the sins and ultimately get what they wanted. You need to read these three books to find out.

George Newbern and Sarah Mollo-Christensen narrated this audiobook and did a great job bring the characters to life. They where easy to understand and each character had a there own voice.

Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for a free audio copy of this book for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I loved loved loved this book! I haven’t read book one or two of this series but I will definitely read them, even if it’s out of order. The author managed to write this book in a way that book 3 could be a stand alone. I didn’t feel lost by reading the last book first. This was a fun and gripping psychological thriller but had a touch of humor to it.

I love all of Kierstin's books and this one did not disappoint. I read the first book in the series but not the second one,
I was, however, able to catch up with the story line fairly quickly.

Kierstin's book always keep me guessing, and this one was no different. I always say to my friend who also loves her books , "I just don't know how she comes up with some of this stuff!" 😁

Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and to Kierstin Mogdlin for the ARC of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This insane couple is back again - and I'm all for it! The game of wits Ainsley and Peter's marriage has become is so entertaining. Something about Kiersten Modglin's writing makes her books unputdownable; I again finished in less than 24 hours.

Sarah Molio-Christensen and George Newbern were the perfect narrators for the book.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media for providing me with an ARC.

“It had been a mistake to come here.”

After receiving the most shocking text of her life, Ainsley is in a panic. Her plan failed. Now, she has to figure out how to keep her kids safe while staying one step ahead of Peter.

Being on Kiersten’s arc team, I read this book when it first came out, so I knew what happened. But hearing the story versus reading it was a completely different experience.

The voice actors were fantastic. George Newbern was the absolute perfect Peter. The voice, the tone, it was so spot on. I really didn’t think I could despise this character more, but hearing his perspective and dialogue spoken was bananas.

This series is excellent, but I must say listening to it is on an entirely different level. It changed everything.

Peter is such a terrible human, and having that character brought to life was both awesome and gross. Sarah Mollo-Christensen was a fantastic Ainsley.

I still love how redeeming this book is for Ainsley and how despite having done bad things, she can always see the goal and know her purpose: to protect her children.

A mother's love is no joke, and Ainsley was a momma bear ready to attack. This was such a great audiobook, and I was taken through many emotions.

I would definitely recommend listening to this series, and it’s such a wild ride.

Book 1. The Arrangement was about Peter and Ainsley and there attempt to go to extremes to save their marriage no matter the cost.

Book 2. The Ammendment This is where secrets are revealed and attempts are made to fix their broken marriage.

Book 3 The Atonement This book takes us to where Ainsley becomes aware that. some serious changes need to be made and that starts with her and her choices she makes.
This was a very fun cat and mouse game back and forth that kept me intrigued to the end.
Enjoy the read!

How is it the last book is the best of the series?! And I say that as I say the first and second books were 10 stars! But this was my all time favorite, maybe my favorite of Modglin's ever! I can't believe this is it for the Greenburgs, my absolute favorite effed up couple! Talk about a wild ride. A million well-deserved stars. Anyone who isn't reading this author is truly missing out on one of the greatest thriller writers of our generation.

Kiersten has done it again by counting her gripping series with the newest book The Atonement! A quick read that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Lies, deceit, and the power struggle between Peter and Ainsley continues. The story starts with Ainsley on "vacation" with the children in tow. Peter quickly is around to show her he is again, not easily defeated. Wonderfully written the Atonement flows beautifully as the finale of the Arrangement series. Kiersten has become the latest master of mystery and suspense!

3.5 and rounded up to 4 for star rating. This was a super short and thrilling thriller! A domestic thriller that hooked me from the first chapter. It reminded me a bit of My Wife is Missing by D.J. Palmer, that being a domestic thriller that leaves the reader torn between the husband and wife and who is telling the truth. It kept me guessing at times, but I was hopeful for a bit more in that regard. Overall I thought it wrapped up nicely and I enjoyed listening to the audio! Funnily enough, I had NO idea that this was the third book in the trilogy! It says "book 3 of 3" on the cover and I didn't even notice, ha! That being said, I was able to follow along with ease and wasn't lost at all, so I feel like that in itself says a lot of good things! Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape for the opportunity to listen to this book.

3.5 stars. I was hoping for something different I guess. This just kept repeating itself over and over until the last part. Idk honestly. I did the audiobook thanks to Netgalley and one thing that bothered me is Peters voice is different depending on who's reading. If Ainsley was speaking it was a more immature voice. But when Peter spoke for the book it was a completely different person. Made it hard to know who Ainsley was talking too at times because the younger voice was used for all the other male characters.

Kiersten Modglin did it again! I have still not read something of her's that has disappointed me. Ainsley and Peter are definitely a crazy couple that tries to save their marriage in literally every crazy way possible. I love I alternating POV as well.

The final piece of the trilogy!
I was really excited when the author announced that there would be a last installment.
The story follows Ainsley and Peter’s dilemma on their marriage. One wants to get away from all the baggage (i mean who wouldn’t?) while the other seems to hold on in a toxic manner.
I am not looking for a rainbow and butterflies ending but for some reason the ending fell flat.
There are some parts where I didn’t really gice too much thought because it was just a bit lackluster compared to the other two. However, this book is still entertaining. Maybe it just didnt work for me too well.

The perfect ending to this trilogy. So twisty, and brings Ainsley and Peters story to an end!!!

What decisions do they make? Will they outwit each other? Will they decide to save their marriage? Is there always a winner and loser?

I do not want to give away anything!
I highly recommend reading all 3 books in order!

Absolutely fantastic ending to an amazingly gripping trilogy. I was on the edge of my seat through this fast-paced cat and mouse chase. I was back and forth on who to root for. I binged this audiobook in one sitting. Thank you netgalley for allowing me to listen in exchange for my honest review.

The finale of the Peter and Ainsley trilogy is here and it doesn’t disappoint! How far will this husband and wife go to save their marriage? Or to punish each other if that doesn’t work out? Whatever you’re thinking, adjust your expectations and go a bit more twisted.

If you loved the first two, definitely grab this one. And if you haven’t read the Arrangement, you definitely should!
