I couldn't wait to read the conclusion to this series. Unfortunately, this was my least favorite book of the trilogy. Even though this was a short audio book with short chapters, I still found myself bored. The first two books were thrilling, but this book was more like a domestic abuse drama.
The narration of the audio book was good. My main issue with NetGalley's audiobooks is that the app doesn't work well and if you listen to books at a higher speed, the audio becomes distorted.

I was very excited to find out that I was approved for an early listen of the audiobook because I love the first two books in this series.

The Atonement (Book 3) starts with all the suspense you need to binge it within 24 hours. It picks up immediately where it left off from book 2 (The Amendment). Kiersten does such a great job writing these characters, although it’s a psychological thriller, Peter is so funny to me but he is so manipulative! I love his character but I also love Ainsley & her efforts to stay a step ahead of him; it’s quite entertaining.

The cat & mouse psychological games between Peter & Ainsley is addicting and you just don’t see the twists coming especially at the very end!!! So happy that Ainsley was the SHERO in this one. She was badass!

What a thrill ride this trilogy has been! The first two really kept me guessing and I had no idea how this series could possibly end. The twists and turns in those were amazing but nothing like this ending. It was the perfect finale for the series and I'm sad to see it end. This was a fast-paced page turner that will make your jaw drop. Highly recommended but start at the beginning of the series.

Narration was excellent!

This was a wild and super bingeable series. The first is hands down my favorite, but if you read one, I suggest you read them all! All around 230 pages. Fun to listen to as well!

A great storyline to keep this series going. The narration was fantastic. I will definitely continue recommending this author.

Wow. This book was described as nerve shredding. That was a good description. It was a fast read as usual. When the reader gets in the car with KMod, they really need to buckle up. She is pedal to the medal, baby. NON STOP cat and mouse action in this one, too, which was enjoyable. I'm not even sure what more to say yet. The whole trilogy was five stars for me, and I daresay it is her masterwork at this point. I do feel the need to give a trigger warning for a scene with severe psychological abuse to the Son of the couple at the end of the book. That was hardcore. Sometimes KMod really goes there with examples of severe abuse, both on and off page. I am not offering that as a criticism, just a neutral observation, I guess. She is one of my favorite authors and I have read most of her work.

This was the final chapter of a story that I didn’t even know I needed. I had read The Arrangement not knowing it was going to be the first book of a series, so it was fun to see how Ainsley and Peter’s story played out over the next 2 books. Although it didn’t have the twists and turns that I expect from Kiersten Modglin, I really did enjoy this one. The ending wrapped it all up nicely!

Thank you to NetGalley for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

I really loved The Arrangement by Kiersten Modglin. I read that one assuming it was a standalone novel, and was terribly excited at its end to learn a follow up book was coming out soon. Book 2, The Amendment, was good (not as good as book 1, but that is frequently the case in a trilogy).

The minute I saw The Atonement as an audio arc on Netgalley, I scooped it up. First, you absolutely must start at book 1. You will be lost if you don’t read the series in the order it was written. Main characters Peter and Ainsley are a long married couple with kids and a need to relight the spark. Add a touch of dark, twisted perversion in a world most of us do not occupy and book 1 hooks you instantly. Husband and wife were interesting, compelling and at various times the villain.

Book 2 moves the story a bit further, but the characters maintained their “allure.”

Sadly, The Atonement was 6 hours of two characters who left the suspense genre and became repetitive drama as one tried to prove themselves smarter over the other. There was no hook. The back and forth got old. There may be a fourth book???? If there is, I’d skip it.

As for the narrators, the same duo, George Newbern and Sarah Mollo-Christensen, voice all three books. I LOVE Newbern. His deep tenor can be menacing, and delightfully charming. Mollo-Christensen was great in the first 2 books, but I found myself annoyed at the very slow cadence in The Atonement. In her defense, it may have been the material and not the voice.

I remember wanting this book so much and keep dropping major hints that I wanted a third book to tie together Ainsley and Peter's story. I thought it would be a twisty thriller throughout, but what we got was a cat and mouse, back and forth game. There wasn't a big twist at the end, which I have grown accustomed to reading with KMOD books. I am rating it 3 stars because I enjoy the narration and I was happy that KMOD put the effort in to appease her fans with a third and final book, but I can't rate it any higher due to how un-thrilling it was.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audiobook ARC for my honest review. I still LOVE me some KMOD and will continue to devour her books!

4⭐️
I highly recommend reading the first 2 books in this series (the arrangement & the amendment) before this one. This third & final book didn’t disappoint.
Peter and Ainsley's relationship is a crazy toxic rollercoaster.
This book was a great cat and mouse game with so many shocking revelations and twists.
I underestimated Peter and Ainsley's determination for their own agendas.
I was surprised with how the ending played out.
The Arrangement is still my absolute favorite in this series, but The Atonement was just as
addictive as the first!
Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This book is set to be published 9/6/22.

WTF????? And I mean that in a good way. K-Mod has done it, yet again! I was excited, yet kind of worried about this book. I worried because I wasn't sure how Ainsley and Peter's journey could go any further. Boy, was I wrong.

This is the third book in the Arrangement series and I literally devoured each one of the books in one sitting. I can't get enough. I'm sad this will be the last one in the series. Despite how loathable they both are, I like Ainsley and Peter. Especially Ainsley. She's my hero. Lol. Kidding, but despite the fact that she did some despicable things, I still could relate to her. And that ending. WHOOO!!!!! Modglin is defintely one of the best authors in the thriller genre, at least in my opinion. I love the twists and turns. In a day where too many authors are putting in twists that don't feel right to the story or are completely far-fetched, K-Mod really keeps it fresh. I never seem to see the twists coming.

Steller book. Steller audio. The two narrators are perfect and completely embody Ainsley and Peter. Eagerly awaiting her next novel and silently crying that this series is over. Five stars!

4 stars. I absolutely loved this domestic-thriller series. Admittedly, the first book was my favorite, but the second and third were solid sequels and made Ansley and Peter's story complete. I listened to all three books, and the audio is excellent (all around 6 hours). For fans of twisty domestic storylines, this series is for you!

Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape media for my ALC! This book is already out on Kindle Unlimited.
