Former teen stars reconnect at a reunion special 20 years later. Old flames but now estranged Liv and Ransom find out if they can reconnect after everything that has happened behind the scenes. I love a one is famous storyline but both were child actors made this a bit different. Lots of history but to be honest it was a bit lackluster. Had a hard time finishing it. Liked the concept but wasn’t fully invested in the characters.

Fun concept- we all have those shows that we grew up on and then they have a 20-year reunion or magazine article, well this is the vibe it gives for me.
The reunion brings these 2 main characters back together. They were child stars when they started working together, and became best friends while working, but then a few things changed making them estranged adults who were no longer in each other's lives. Now seeing each other again and realizing that they have changed quite a bit but their feelings and chemistry for each other are def still there.
Liv & Ransom - 2nd chance trope between these two
Will they be friends again and stay in each other's life, will hearts be broken again or will they work out their feelings and stay together this time?!?!?! Only time will tell.
This was a fun romantic read.
I really enjoyed the added gossip column additions in between the character, this was sooo fun.
This book def has you connected to these 2 stars and cheering their relationship on even when it has some stressful or slow moments, and you wanna yell at them to get it together lol

I was able to read this ARC thanks to the publisher and NetGalley and am thankful for this opportunity. The review/opinion above is my own, honest, and voluntary.

3 stars!

This was cute but between this novel and How to Fake it in Hollywood I don't think the "fame" trope is for me. I thought this would be more of a second chance romance and it was, but part of what I love about second chance is how long it takes for the characters to reconcile that they want to be back together. Instead I felt like Liv and Ransom were just a little too insta lovey. I know its bad to say a romance book is too predictable, but this one truly was just too predictable.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I don’t know if it was just a reading slump or if it was the book but it didn’t really mesh with me. I think the main couple lacked the chemistry I was hoping for. I will definitely give the author another try but this wasn’t for me.

When the cast of Girl on the Verge reunite for a reunion special, Liv and Ransom discover the chemistry they shared in teens is still there.

This was a quick read. I like the second chance romance and the Hollywood setting, but it was missing something to make me love it.

This book was good but not great. When I read the blurb I thought it was going to be an angsty story about second chances but it didn't have much to it's plot and the romance wasn't really believable I think the author relied too much on telling us how these two characters were meant to be instead of showing us. The chemistry wasn't palpable or visible.

It has a good premise but could have been so much more with a bit more drama and angst.

Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for the advance copy!

I enjoyed reading the story about Liv and Ransom. Two actors that practically grew up together on screen. They're brought back together for a cast reunion and that would have been fine but they hadn't spoken to each other in years.

Sometimes feelings don't ever get resolved or ever go away and sometimes it takes a wakeup call to realize what's been there all along.

Living life under a spotlight isn't all that it's cut out to be... Especially when it comes to having a personal life and relationships.

I just loved ‘The Reunión’ by Kayla Olson! Six POV’s had me a bit nervous at first as I’m not usually a fan of multiple POV book, but this sounded so good I had to give it a shot, and it absolutely did not disappoint and was not hard to keep up with at all. It was emotional, funny, full of drama, and super sweet. Highly recommend!

I liked this one a lot. I tend to gravitate toward slightly messier romcoms but I enjoyed the hollywood dynamic of this, and thought it was well-written. I think it's a great read for a romcom lover who likes lighter stories with a happily ever after.

Liv and Ransom spent their teenage years starting on the hit TV show Girl on the Verge. After 20 years the cast is back together for a reunion special and the feelings between Liv and Ransom still exist.

I loved a good teen drama growing up, and being now at an age where all the reunions for my favorite shows are starting to pop up, this book was all the nostalgic feels I could ever want. There was so much to enjoy about this one and it kept me entertained from the beginning. I loved Liv and Ransom and the back and forth of will they get back together or not? I thought the tabloid and social media posts sprinkled in between the chapters was a fun addition. And of course, I loved the behind the scenes drama of the TV show.

Thank you Netgalley and Atria books for this gifted copy,

This was a fast read. Super cute and kept me engaged even though the ending was a tad predictable. I found the characters to be likeable.

Thank you, Netgalley, the author, and Atria Books for the gifted e-book! ❤️ #gifted. My review is comprised of my honest thoughts.

Read this book if you like: Dual POV, second chances, closed door

Honestly, this was just okay. I was really excited by the premise but was bored overall. I was hoping they would have overwhelming chemistry. I just didn't feel it. I liked it enough. I wanted more.

This was a great quick read. Ransom and Liv were childhood stars as well as best friends who ended up estranged. They reunite many years later for a reunion of their former tv show.
I loved the romance between the two, and that they got a second chance with each other. There's Hollywood showbiz, second chance romance, angst, and a happily ever after. I liked it a lot and would recommend it. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.

I was really excited about the premise of this story especially because second chance is one of my favourite tropes of all time, but I didn’t really know how I felt about the way it was executed. I just wish there was more, in regards with scenes and dialogue between Liv and Ransom. For the second chance aspect, I felt as if they had jumped back into it very quickly considering the fact that they hadn’t spoken to each other in 14 years. I wish we got more of that angst and tension that could’ve been present from them seeing each other after such a long period and having to work together again while they both had feelings for each other. Other than that, it was a quick and fun read and but I wish there was more in the romance aspect so I could’ve connected to their characters better.

THE GOOD:
A sparkling, happy, feel-good tale. Lively energy and totally addictive. Our leading lady, Liv, is effortlessly stylish and classy. You'll love being in her orbit and never once feel like she is spoiled or fake. Liv's best friend-slash-assistant, Bre, is a true delight as well. Liv becomes to the reader a genuine friend, and ends up feeling like they WERE actually fans of the fictional teen drama Girl on the Verge. All of this set against a dreamy, sun-filtered L.A. with its celebrities, gorgeous beaches, and lofty goals.

THE BAD:
I did feel like our main characters seemed like 20-something's rather than the thirty-something's they were intended to be. A bit more backstory of what Liv's and Ransom's lives were like in the intervening years would help flesh them out as more robust characters. But, to be fair, if written in that manner, it may have detracted from the sparkling verve of the tale.

THE CONCLUSION: Highly recommend for a cheery, uplifting, and fun read! Grab a copy today!

Got two chapters in and gave up because I cannot take how it's written. It is so clunky and info-dumpy that it's genuinely annoying to read.

Not gonna lie… the book was kind of just meh. Didn’t really have much angst, plot driven characters, or anything to make me go WHOA. All the drama was more “backstage” so we, as the reader, didn’t get to see or read (watch) it play out! Kind of a bummer, as the premise for this book was pretty legit - two prior costars on a show who come back together - sorta like a second chance romance in a way, but it just didn’t. Hate that! Thanks for the opportunity!

I felt that the book had a good storyline and execution but I just didn’t connect to the characters the way I would’ve wanted

This book wasn't bad by any means, but I had a hard time connecting with the main character. Not sure if having the hero's POV would have helped give the story a boost. Also, the premise for the disconnect between the two main characters 14 years previous was based on miscommunication, which don't usually do it for me. Finally, I got to the end and realized the main characters hadn't even kissed? I did enjoy the internet postings that came between chapters, and it looks like this is the author's first contemporary romance, so I would be open to reading another romance by her to try.

I enjoyed this second chance romance, it sort of reminded me of a Katherine Center esque novel. The Hollywood backdrop was fun and I liked the cast reunion setup. The angst was fairly minimal since the characters seemed to have matured since they originally starred together. The show drama was my favorite part by far. There wasn't anything wrong particularly with the romance but I didn't feel the heat as much as I wanted to between Ransom and Liv. Like it sounded good on paper but didn't translate to the book. Overall, I did like it well enough and would read more from the author. 3.5 stars.
