I have mixed feelings about The Reunion. It starts off fun and interesting. Learning about Liv and Ransom, and their history on a teen show together was fun to dive into. However, I felt Ransom to still be a bit disingenuous. He had all that time to tell Liv how he felt, why wait so long? I am not surprised Liv is so uncertain.

I enjoyed the evolution of the story, and the rest of the characters who were on the show with Liv and Ransom. And I loved Liv’s team. She seems to have really good people around her.

The end seemed a bit rushed, and a bit forced. Obviously I hoped everything would work it’s way out, but it all seemed to be done in a chaotic matter.

I did enjoy The Reunion. It was a fun and easy read. I just didnt love it.

Childhood friends and then estranged? Coming back together via forced proximity? SIGN ME UP! I’m a sucker for a second chance romance, especially with a friends to lovers element mixed in, and this definitely delivers. Fans of Christina Lauren, check this one out.

this book was so cute! I loved the Hollywood aspect of it and the scenes that were taking place onset. The tabloid and social media articles in between the chapters were also a fun and unique touch. I loved the relationship between Liv and Ransom. My only complaint was I felt like the relationship came on a little abruptly and out of nowhere.

Felt like reading a Hallmark movie but with a twist of Hollywood. Loved the characters and the story.

Thank you to NetGalley, Atria Books, and Kayla Olson for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I love a friends-to-lovers story done right! Hollywood romances can be a bit hit or miss for me, but The Reunion had the perfect mix of sappy romance, angst, and humor. The only thing that kept this from being a 5⭐️ for me was that there were a few moments that I wished were a little more fleshed our history wise and the big 3rd act break up/tension moment fell a little flat to me personally just because I felt like it didn’t seem to fit Ransom’s character well (and I felt like Liv seemed to be blowing the whole “my life is in the media” out of proportion because…you are a movie star…) However, I really enjoyed Ransom and Liv both as characters and found this romcom to be really cute overall!

This book was sweet read but 3.5 stars would be the best rating I can give it. I loved the characters and the premise. Liv and Ransom had amazing chemistry and feel back into their places perfectly. They seemed like they picked up right where they left off. That being said there were points of tension that I thought could have been dealt with better and differently. It was a fun and cute read though.

Oh, that was lovely. Lots of feelings, relatable characters, blog posts, and actual reunions. I just enjoyed this soooo much, and my heart was so full by the end.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.

I am really sad to say that The Reunion just didn’t work for me. I’m not a fan of second chance love stories & celebrity romance isn’t one of my go to sub genres, so this is definitely a me problem!

I really liked the protagonist, Liv. She was well written. I just didn’t really feel the chemistry between the two leads. I don’t usually love flashbacks in a story, but I think this story would have been served by just a few flashbacks to give a stronger connection with the main love story.

I am interested in reading other books from this author. Even though this wasn’t the book for me, I still liked her writing style & I will be back for the next book for sure.

The Reunion is a very engaging friends-to-lovers/second chance romance about two people who fell in love as teenage actors on a TV series, coming together again as adults when their old series is picked up by a streaming platform for a revival and potential reboot. Lots of intrigue added to the story through "celeb gossip" updates between chapters, along with the typically expected machinations of supporting characters who are also in showbiz. A very quick and enjoyable read! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity.

Sweet, spicy, fun - "The Reunion" is a perfect beach read! Kayla Olson now has a well-deserved place among the Emily Henry and Elin Hildebrand set.

The Reunion by Kayla Olson had me hooked from the start!
I didn't want to put it down and I would have finished it in a day if it wasn't for the obvious which I had to adult.
Very well written with a great storyline. Olson's writing hooked me almost immediately.
Liv and Ransom are characters that will wiggle their way into your heart and stay with you long after you have turned the last page. Amazing chemistry. Loved their relationship.
The romance was sweet, the banter was fun and witty and I thoroughly enjoyed these characters.
Very sweet and fun book. A quick fun rom-com.
A second chance romance that I absolutely devoured and can't wait to pick more from Kayal Olson in the future.

Synopsis: Liv Latimer grew up on TV.
As the star of the popular teen drama Girl on the Verge, Liv spent her adolescence on the screen trying to be as picture perfect as her character in real life. But after the death of her father and the betrayal of her on-screen love interest and off-screen best friend Ransom Joel, Liv wanted nothing more than to retreat, living a mostly normal life aside from a few indie film roles. But now, twenty years after the show’s premiere, the cast is invited back for a reunion special, financed by a major streaming service.
Liv is happy to be back on set, especially once she discovers Ransom has only improved with age. And their chemistry is certainly still intact. They quickly fall into their old rhythms, rediscovering what had drawn them together decades before. But with new rivalries among the cast emerging and the specter of a reboot shadowing their shoot, Liv questions whether returning to the past is what she needs to finally get her own happy ending.

Review:
This book was delightfully entertaining. Liv and Ransom are both talented and I never truly felt like there was competition between them. That being said, I hate misunderstanding that stand between people who should be together and for FOURTEEN YEARS?!? That is too much for me. The whole book felt like it was trying to justify why they disolved their friendship, but they were young and made mistakes and I totally get that. I didn't like they we never got any POV from Ransom. I think that would help the readers understand more how and why this happened.
I had the same problem with this book that I did with People We Meet on Vacation and everyone is obsessed with that book. I think The Reunion is better written and has a better overall story and friendship than PWMOV.
I really enjoyed Liv's assistant/friend and want more of that friendship and her team was awesome!

Liv and Ransom are former child-star best friends who haven’t spoken in 14 years and are brought back together for a reunion episode of their show. They’re forced to revisit their friendship, and possibly one-sided unrequited love. I found myself rooting for Liv and Ransom (despite how annoyed I was by his name..what?) and wanting to see how their story unfolded. Each chapter was split up by a celebrity news update that also kept the plot lines moving, which I found very fun!

This book absolutely reminded of cuddling up and rooting for Pacey and Joey of Dawson's Creek. In a day of reboots, this book tells the story of the original and the reunion with stunning weaving. An absolute joy to read about falling in love again.'

I could not put this book down! I was absolutely *swooning* over Ransom Joel from the first words he spoke and Liv's character is extremely likable. If you grew up watching sitcoms and teen dramas, you are going to love this book! Kayla Olsen does such an amazing job writing realistic characters that have depth. It's hard not to love this great cast of characters, too. This is one of my new favorite romances!

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

This was a really cute book. Very well written with a great storyline, it felt very nostalgic and reminded me of the shows I liked to watch as a kid / young adult. The romance was sweet and the inner cast of characters was fun! This brings me to my one main complaint… there are SO many characters that are irrelevant to the story and they are all given crazy names and I’m expected to just remember them. When I first started reading, I found myself confused about who was who and who they knew it was just a little chaotic trying to get to the main story. Other than that, I really enjoyed it!
