I enjoyed this book. It gave us more information about Jonathon’s background. I felt after reading book 1 that he was an enigma. After reading this book, I feel like I know Jonathon more. I enjoyed the plot of the book, everything involving the Russian Mob, money laundering, and blackmail kept me reading.

-----I was provided with a free ARC from NetGalley for an honest Review-----

This is the second book in the Mina's Choice Series. There are only 2 books out so far but the third book is being written.

After a long vacation away from the court room, Mina is back in action but now she doesn't want to protect and set free evil men anymore. With a new case about an immigrant from Russia being accused of fraud and money laundering and somehow having to do with the Russian mafia, Mina is in for a tricky one. But things start getting confusing when Jonathon's frenemy is somehow involved in this case in ways she did not expect and when an unexpected death happens, Mina knows that she isn't for a light ride.

Having read the first book, I can say that this is my favorite book out of the two. Some parts for me were confusing but we'll get to those bits in a little. This books didn't have as much spice as the last one and I'm grateful for that because there was an overwhelming amount of spice in the first one. This book was more focused on the case that Mina was working on and the Russian mafia. I just have to point out that the use of yoga posses was so random and honestly USELESS . Like what? Like there's a fight scene where someone has gotten hot and is literally BLEEDING and then the author described the characters position and compares it to some random yoga pose that I have never heard of. I was REALLY confused at some parts where I was questioning if Mina actually loved Jonathon or if he was her play thing or something but it got clearer closer to the end. The third book is being written as we speak but I won't be continuing this series in the foreseeable future. It had a good plot but it drags... ALOT. I felt like there is possible potential for this book but I'm still not interested or invested enough to keep on reading.

I do believe that many readers will like this series but this series was just not my cup of tea and it's literally the opposite of what I normally read.

The book is nice; there are no plot twists, and the reader can easily understand the story. It is nicely written.

I gave up on this about 20% of the way through. I didn't feel any connection to the mina, and I just didn't really care what was going on with her, which sounds bad I know. The writing was good but I just didn't want to finish it.

DNF this one, so I don't feel comfortable giving any star review. I could not connect with any characters for some reason.

This book had so many twists and turns. You never knew what was going to happen sat down and read in 2 hours. I need to go back and read book one now. This was my first read by this author but secondly will add her books to my to be read pile.

The Contract is a good continuation of the story between Mina and Johnathan. The first book was good but this book was far more suspenseful The cover is very attractive to the eye and it was a quick read. I do like the ability of the author to continue this story and make you want to keep coming back for more. I am waiting for the 3rd book in this series because I need to know what else is going to happen. This will be a 5 out of 5 for the story. I will also be reviewing this on social media.
I love the author's play on Mina's guilt for taking on clients that make her feel like she is second-guessing her instinct for right and wrong.

I received an ARC of this book through Netgalley.

The synopsis of The Contract is what initially drew me in. The idea of a story that explored a BDSM relationship as a means of coping with some less desirable aspects of a woman's career appealed immensely. Add in the mystery and thriller aspects and I was all in.

Sadly, I feel as if the book failed to deliver on what I was hoping for from the synopsis. The prose was well written, if a bit flowery, but that obviously is something that comes down to personal preference. I, however, deeply struggled with connecting or even caring about the characters or their relationships. There was a distinct detachment between myself and the story. I just couldn't get invested.

Also, with this story being advertised as erotica, I was expecting...Well, more sex, certainly. There were times when it read almost clinical. I couldn't feel the heat, the passion between the characters. It just felt incredibly lack luster for me. Again, this could simply come down to personal preference.

I just know that this book was not for me and I doubt I will be picking up anything else by this author.

Criminal lawyer Mini is a strong independent woman who feels her life choices are conflicting with sense of right and wrong, especially defending billionaire Jonathon Thomas Heun. He draws her into his world both in and out of the bedroom. Her self-inflicted guilt sends her into his arms and into his world and gives him control embracing her dark hidden desires. I love this second book it definitely delivers a great suspenseful dark romance story as secrets are revealed. I have voluntarily read and reviewed this excellent story.

Always love a good bit of spice, but it’s especially enjoyed when the plot line is good as well! This book was great!

Mina is an intelligent criminal defence lawyer. She is strong in and out of the court room. She spends the first part of her career representing some terrible people which leaves her feeling guilty. She deals with her guilty conscience through cliff diving . Eventually she becomes eager to seek relief in other ways. Her client, Billionare Johnathan Heun is happy to oblige by helping her surrender control and explore her dark and dangerous desires. Through her relationship with Johnathan, Mina quickly finds her self in a dangerous predicament. Which threatens some of her closest friends.

Minas choice is a two book series , book one 𝒯𝒽ℯ 𝒞𝓁𝒾ℯ𝓃𝓉 and book two 𝒯𝒽ℯ 𝒞ℴ𝓃𝓉𝓇𝒶𝒸𝓉. Though 𝒯𝒽ℯ 𝒞ℴ𝓃𝓉𝓇𝒶𝒸𝓉 is very descriptive, I would recommend reading in order.

There were times in 𝒯𝒽ℯ 𝒞𝓁𝒾ℯ𝓃𝓉 I wasn’t sure this was the series for me but I am glad I held out. 𝒯𝒽ℯ 𝒞ℴ𝓃𝓉𝓇𝒶𝒸𝓉 definitely caught my attention.

The strength and determination in Mina had me constantly rooting for her. She was put in some uncomfortable and scary situations yet held onto her strength. She didn’t surrender to anyone (outside the bedroom) which I loved.

I wasn’t a huge fan of John and Minas relationship, until near the end which left me needing answers.

The amount of mystery and suspense throughout kept me intrigued and the cliffhanger leaves me curious as to what will happen next. I have a feeling book three will be the best one yet.

Overall I would recommend 𝒯𝒽ℯ 𝒞ℴ𝓃𝓉𝓇𝒶𝒸𝓉.

Received this ARC from netgalley and really enjoyed how this was a continuation of Jonathan and Mina’s relationship. Being able to see their journey instead of ending after the first one was splendid. There’s far more exploration into the world of BDSM in this one, so beware if that’s not something you’re into!

I feel a little overwritten at times. But overall a solid read

I really liked Mina’s character.
She’s strong and a good female maincharacter

Leaves you wanting more of the story. Couldn't get enough. Very entertaining and it was a book that once you started it you won't put it down until you have finished it! Highly recommend. .

When I received this ARC I did not realize it was the second book so I did ho and read the first one before diving into this one. I loved this one way more than the first. It keeps you on edge the whole time and the spicy scenes definitely keep it going as well. I didnt really love the FMC whoch usually lowers the stars for me but the plot was very well done!

I accidentally requested this arc before the first book and I ended up not finishing the first book due to not liking it.

Giving it a 3 just because this could be a good book but it could also be a bad book but I am not sure as I didn't read it.

I think I would have enjoyed this a lot more had I read the first book in the series. I felt very confused majority of the time and I think it left me unable to “connect” to the story and characters. Otherwise I think there was promise to the story and intriguing it just left me a little off.

Thank you for the free e-arc Netgalley!

This is the second story in Mina and Jonathon's love story. Unfortunately I didn't realise that before committing though. We have a lawyer and a billionaire equaling a really fast paced story full of action and suspense. I do feel like the story could benefit from some extra editing however it was really good and a 3 star read for me.

Going into this book, having read The Client and excitedly expected the second one, I was really excited to see where Mina and Jonathan's story would pick up from and where it would continue to go. The two of them grow into their roles and their relationship with one another but with themselves as well. I actually found I liked them a lot more going into this book because we get to see them in a new light that shows them as letting one another grow in their personal lives and part of the BDSM community. Karissa does a fantastic job merging the two together and showing us how the character growth actually impacted them and their relationship. Looking forward to book three!
