I like cryptozoology and I cannot lie. I mean, it’s just fun, whether you believe it or not, isn’t it? And why wouldn’t you want to live in the world where fascinating creatures mysteriously exist?
In this, the latest of the cryptozoology series Systema Paradoxa, a teenager comes across a very strange creature in the woods near Princeton, NJ. And then can’t let it go, so she proceeds to unravel the mystery of just how such a creature came to be there in the first place.
I’d never heard of the author, but according to her biography she seems like she specializes in YA fiction. Which I’m not (forgive the pun) a fan off. But this was still fun enough. YA, sure, but not in an intelligence insulting way. Primarily because these books are not meant to be great literature in any way – they are creature features. Quick mindless fun reading. And this one was pretty much in line with the overall quality of the series. Thanks Netgalley.
