A change from what I have read by Adam Stemple before, but every bit as good! I read it from begining to final page in one sitting.

Definitely an interesting take on the typical apocalypse stories! This one follows a hit man and a weather girl as they weave through the start of an apocalypse. The typical “zombies” are replaced with creepy (and vividly described) lizard-ish people/creatures. It’s a thrilling, at times violent, and enjoyably crazy journey from beginning to end!

A hitman and a weather girl walk into a Big Pharma research building…no that’s not the setup to a joke but rather the start of Adam Stemple’s Bad Company. Oh, so what happens after they enter the building? They get wrapped up in the start of the zombie apocalypse of course! I’ve loved zombie books/movies since I first saw a copy of Romero’s Night of the Living Dead back in the early 80s. And the truth is when it comes to zombie type stories I’m quite easy to please, but I’m always thrilled when an author or director elevates the genre as is the case here. Not only are the ‘zombies’ in Bad Company not your typical slow shambling mindless brain eaters, but the lead characters have some actual depth to them. Stemple delivers an intense action driven story. If you’re a fan of the zombie genre, this is definitely one to read. I’d like to thank the author and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read and review an eARC of Bad Company.

Hitman meets weathergirl at the site of a zombie manufactory/medical research facility and death proceeds apace. There are two viral forms in this story, one which creates traditional zombies and another which creates ‘lizard people’ whose body parts regenerate so long as their heads remain attached. Much action, interesting premise, lots of killing, some morbid torture. Gotta kill for the story and save the world!

A hit man, Quinn, is sent to a large pharmaceutical company to kill one of the scientists. When he gets there, he finds a want-a-be reporter, Ellie, pretending to be his lawyer. What follows is mass chaos as the scientist realizes that the formula the company created is not quite right. It turns it's victims into zombies. The virus is also very contagious - so everyone in the building to going to be infected very soon. They need to escape. Then the team of hitmen arrive, and they can't be stopped because they have a different version of the virus.
Lots of action, shooting, zombies, and a great cast of characters.
