It isn't often that I feel let down by a Netgalley choice. I have felt, overwhelmingly, that the books I've received here met my expectations. And, more often than not, exceed them.

This book, however, did not live up to the hype. I fully expect a thriller by an author touted as an 'expert at tension' would craft a story that would keep me on the edge of my seat, that I wouldn't want to put the book down.

But this story had little of that immediacy or suspense for me. It took me longer than expected to finish it, since I frequently put it aside for other stories.

Oh dear. That sounds too harsh. The setting details are excellent. But I struggled to care about any of it. Not my best choice.

The second installment in the Laurel Snow series was somehow even more chilling than the first one. I loved how Laurel came back, and how she still had to somehow work on more than one level to get things to go her way.
The new mystery was well done, and as I said, very chilling.

I thought at one moment I had figured out who the killer is, then something would change my mind. Well one of them was right.
Laurel is so smart it's almost scary. Her sister is actually the scary one. Poor Huck. It seems that the man can't do anything right. Laurel falls for him though. Opposites and all that.

Huck and Laurel have a bit of history. Huck is the protective silent/grumpy type but handsome. Laurel is a unique beauty in Hucks eyes.

Both are In law enforcement and after one night together there is awkwardness between the two. When they are paired up to investigate another serial killer can the two work through their relationship or will they continue to ignore the attraction?

This book definitely had me guessing all the way to the end. Action packed romance at its finest and definitely a book and author I would recommend.

I want to preface this review by saying I generally do not read romance. I’m not a fan of it. However, I read the first book in this series and really liked it. Maybe it’s because I identify so much with the main character (the awkwardness in social situations, etc). The thing I liked most about this story, is that although this one is labeled as a romantic thriller, it focuses more on the case instead of the romance between Laurel and Huck. It was the perfect amount of romance to not turn me off from it. As far as the characters, they are written extremely well. Laurel and Huck are great. I really like their dynamic. I did find myself having an intense dislike for Abigail, which was clearly the author’s intent. In my opinion, that is a sign of great writing, when an author can evoke that kind of emotion toward a character. All in all I loved the story and would absolutely read the next one!

You Can Hide (Laurel Snow, #2) by Rebecca Zanetti
This series is wonderful and I'm hoping there will be many more. Laurel Snow (FBI) and Huck Rivers (Fish and Wildlife officer) make a fantastic team hunting a serial killer - she is also dealing with her half sister Dr. Abigail Caine. We catch up with some old friends and family and meet new ones -one is evil. This story has angst, terror, horror, murders, mystery, some tears, a few laughs, and an undeniable attraction and steam between Laurel and Huck to take us one an edge of your seat journey to find a killer and their hopefully HEA. I am hoping for another book in this series.

This book had me all over the place.
It was definitely gripping and a bit scary. I literally did not know who the killer was and was so not expecting it. I was honestly very surprised and annoyed when I found out who it was.
I love how Huck and Laurel have this mutual understanding of one another. It is so refreshing to see.
Abigail is definitely one interesting creature, thats for sure. She really annoys me honestly. I have a lot to say about Abigail but I don't want to spoil it for those who have not read it yet.
I am definitely going to be waiting for the third book (I really hope there is a third book).

YOU CAN HIDE by Rebecca Zanetti. What a great read! I enjoyed this one a lot. Ms. Zanetti sure keeps the reader enthralled and intrigued throughout. There is danger, mystery and even a growing love story between Laurel and Huck. These two are terrific - both have some issues and, at first, one might not see them together. But I think they balance each other terrifically. Ms. Zanetti works her magic with the written word while bringing the reader on this journey of a psychotic serial killer and those that are trying to stop the deadly murderer. If you enjoy suspenseful reads, this one should be on your list. This is book two and I do recommend book one as well (I think you could read this as a standalone well enough, but the story is mighty fine in book one also! ). Zanetti does action and suspense so well. Creepy good plot, and always something driving the story. The main character, Laurel, is smart and resourceful. Watching her navigate various difficult relationships gave her depth. The heat between her and Huck - 5 stars. It's a bit of a slow burn, even though they know each other they are fighting the attraction. But the chemistry with Huck is so good, you really root for these two to figure it out. The story was well-paced. It is the second in a series, but it didn't feel like I was missing information jumping right in with Book #2.

Complete spine-tingling, nail-biting perfection!

A totally satisfying read. I read it in one evening and felt very connected to the characters. I had not read the first book in this series (hopefully more are coming) but it worked just fine as a stand-alone though I could tell there were some back stories.
The main character, Laurel, is fascinating and Zanetti describes her well. Her lines are unique and you can't help but like her and hope that her unique intelligence doesn't keep her from finding happiness.
I was able to guess how the book would end and who the killer was. Normally I cannot do this, so that was a slight detriment to me, though interesting to watch it all come together. I'd definitely read another book in this series. It's just very engaging!

Laurel is back in Genesis Valley and suddenly has another serial murderer on her hands. As she is quick to point out to Huck, what are the chances of 2 serial killers within months of each other in the same small town. The answer, incomputable…even for Laurel. With that in mind, she follows the twists and turns of the killers’s profile to figure out who it could be. Throw in a bear-dog, a sister who may or may not be what she seems, and a whole slew of red-herrings. This thriller will keep you in the edge of your seat and wondering whodunnit until the very last page. And then, with the last sentence, she’ll leave you wanting more.

I just cannot get enough Rebecca Zanetti. She is such a surefire hit for me, and I always love the romantic suspense plot. This series is a little more romance-lite, but I love the main character. You really can't go wrong with this author.

This one is even better than the first in the series. I love Laurel and although she is different her heart is in the right place. Maybe that is why she gets great along with Huck who is also very likable and they make a great team. The story keeps you on your toes until the end. Great amazing highly recommended story.

Four and a half
This the second book in this suspense driven series finds Lauren still undecided about whether she wishes to stay in the area but when dead women start turning up there's a chilling realisation that she has quite a lot in common with them ! These intelligent victims are clearly chosen not just for how they look but because they are extremely well educated and wouldn't you know it because it looks like Laurens half sister could be the killers next target !
I love this authors imagination and yet again her innate talent at bringing characters to life is front and centre. Lauren might not connect very well with others but she's certainly learning to show more empathy although in her personal life she's definitely having a blind spot ! Her half sister Abigail is cool, manipulative and yet desperately needing Laurens attention but this reader can only say she's an absolute piece of work although I admit she's not the only female character it's easy to dislike. However one character who has come on leaps and bounds is Huck who provides quiet backup and yet it's clear his opinion/feelings about Laurel are growing as she too blossoms from analytical to realising others have needs. The romance though is not the focus of this story as we get taken on a journey with a couple of red herrings and a truly creepy reveal at the end. I very much enjoyed this and definitely will look for the next book although I'm a little unsettled by the abundance of serial killers in a small town but who knows what is next and just who might be instigating everything ? Yes I really do need the next book !

Laurel Snow is back and on the hunt for another serial killer! This is such a great series with one of the best female lead characters that I have read in a long time. Laurel and Huck search for a serial killer that is murdering women who are being stalked . Will Laurel catch the killer before another women is murdered? Great mystery and so much suspense. I would definitely recommend this book and this series and can't wait for the next book!!

This is the first book I’ve read by Rebecca Zanetti in a long time, and I was pulled in at the start. This is the second book in this series. I did not read the first one, and I felt it was fine as a stand-alone. There was enough back story in this book so I was not confused. The author does a very good job of describing her characters and their clothing, as well as describing the settings. Most of the characters were likable and definitely believable. There is plenty of action and suspense, and no indication who the killer is until almost the end of the book. I recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery/suspense with a serial killer. Gripping and keeps you reading. Laurel Snow is an intriguing character, and I certainly will keep reading the series because she’s enough of a draw. I also like Huck and his trusty companion, Aeneas, a Karelian bear dog. Laurel is an FBI profiler, whose focus is serial killers. She’s very intelligent and logical, which helps in her job, but it does not make it easy in personal relationships. Huck is a tracker for the Fish & Wildlife Dept., and the small Washington town suits him after a tough loss in a case and a personal betrayal by his former fiancé. Laurel has been traveling around the country, but gets pulled back to her hometown for a case, in the first book. This one has her considering setting up a permanent office to be near her family.

I liked this book. It grabbed my attention and held it. However, it suffered some from being the second in series. While the first introduced a slew of of characters that were compelling with interesting relationship dynamics. This one did not build on that much. It mostly introduced a new mystery that wasn’t as connected the expected series arc. However it did still feature Abigail, Laurel’s eerily similar half-sister, and gave a little more information about her. Abigail is the other side of the coin from Laurel, and while it’s not clear what is going to happen with this series, it is clear she will be an important player.

Huck and Laurel’s relationship tends to be at a the level of a lidded pan on a simmer. When you take off the lid, there’s a lot of steam but most of the time it’s not very noticeable. They both think they can’t get attached because it is against their nature. However, they are drawn to each other regardless.

Ultimately, a good addition to this series, and I am really looking forward to the third book. I would recommend if looking for a romantic suspense, with some interesting relationship dynamics at play.
