Laurel Snow is in northern Washington State near the Sauk River. A call comes in from FBI Agent Walter Smudgeon, he gives the coordinates and she and Fish/Wildlife Agent Huck Rivers are on the move. When they arrive the snow is flooded with Black Dahlia flowers. In the center they find a woman's body. Walter is holding a bloody ax yet not much gore surrounds the corpse. Her face has been stabbed, her head has been bludgeoned, her hands removed with the ax. Who is the woman? And who could be so angry to do such carnage?
Zanetti’s latest also features the return of Laurel’s half sister, Abigail Caine. A woman who is persistent in her demand for protection in this case. She feels that she could be the next victim. Laurel is certain her obnoxious calls are not persistent with the latest case but in the back of her mind she wonders, could she be right? Is she be on the assassin’s list?
You Can Hide will be published on November 29, 2022 by Zebra Books of Kensington Publishing. I appreciate their allowing me to read Rebecca Zanetti’s latest in the Laurel Snow Thriller series via NetGalley. Zanetti is an excellent writer with a large selection of novels in several genres. The Snow Thriller books are demanding in their attention. Once the reader starts there is no putting it down. When she develops her story line there is always a question as to who committed the homicide, there is always a surprise in the conclusion. Fans of Zanetti’s will grab this one. If you are a true suspense reader make certain to pick this one up. Enjoy!

This was a great read. I enjoy3d the mystery and the character development. I have read books by this author before and find I enjoy her contemporary mysteries more than the paranormal. Although there is never a truly bad read from Ms Zanetti! Special Agent Laurel Snow is a complex character and I hope there will be more books I’m this series. I highly recommend this title! Laurel Snow is a brilliant FBI profiler, very good at her job tracking serial killers, but she is very literal, somewhat innocent in many ways, and has some problems interacting with others. She came back to visit her family in Washington state, but it looks like she’ll be staying awhile, long enough to set up a field office. There seem to be a number of serial killers attracted to this area.

I really enjoyed the main characters in this story. There is Huck, the tracker for the Fish & Wildlife Dept. with his huge bear dog. Huck and Laurel are dancing around their attraction for each other, neither trusting the other. And then there is Abigail, a half-sister Laurel didn’t know about. Abigail seems to be a sociopath, is as smart as Laurel, and wants sister bonding time with Laurel. Laurel doesn’t trust Abigail, but Abigail keeps pushing for a relationship.

Tracking the killer and finding his victims kept me wondering who the killer was and why was he killing these women. There are a lot of twists, possible suspects, and side stories of other people who live in the area.

With this new series brings new characters and the ones in this book are starting to form this little family in the quiet town. But again there is a case to be solved is that a coincidence or could there really be a serial killer in this quiet town. That is the big question. I love how Rebecca is taking us readers on a new journey or adventure really and I’m excited to say I can’t wait for the next one.

Book two in the series and it was just as action packed as book one! I love the character development in this one, the characters are interesting and I was caught up in their story. The case is dark and perplexing. This was a quick read that had me frantically turning pages! I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

This book was entertaining! It’s a romantic suspense following genius FBI Agent Laurel Snow. It’s the second in the series, and while the first book would have given me a better understanding of a pretty complicated backstory, the focus is on the here-and-now and I felt okay reading it as a stand-alone. Laurel for me is written a lot like Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds - incredibly smart, child genius, multiple degrees, eidetic memory, but struggling with “normal” social behaviors. It reads to me a bit as an autistic stereotype (I’d say the same of Spencer’s character), which for me is a criticism of the book. However, I liked Laurel; I enjoy her blunt demeanor and her ability to know herself so well. Huck is likable but I feel like in this installment I didn’t get to know him well enough other than he is protective. The plot was interesting, though for a bit in the middle they seemed to be spinning their wheels. Overall an entertaining read and I would read more by the author. I enjoyed this intriguing thriller. Rebecca Zanetti is a master at writing stories that keep me guessing until the very end. This story sucked me in and had me on the edge of my seat! I would want Huck and Laurel looking out for me, for sure!! I look forward to the next book in this series!

This is second book in the Laurel Snow series, and the books should be read in order since the storylines progress from book one. There is a serial killer on the loose in frozen North Washington State who beats his victims and leaves black dahlias at the scene. Laurel is sent to investigate. She is a child prodigy wo attended college at age 13 and graduated with all kinds of degrees. She is aided by Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck RIvers who was a former sniper, has PTSD and is always accompanied by his loyal work/support dog Aeneas, a Karelian Bear Dog.
This was a great police procedural with lots of twists and turns, great characters and chemistry between Snow and Rivers, even though she can be a little awkward at times. Their relationship is very early stages as both of them feel they are not worthy of a serious relationship. Time will tell.
Laurel is extremely intelligent and logical, and investigates the serial crimes with becoming emotionally involved. Her sister, Abigail, is her opposite in many way and is just as smart as Laurel is and also a bit of an oddball.

We also have Laurels newly found manipulative sister Abigail, who might be a potential victim or is she somehow involved in the murders. This book has both suspense and romance. Holy heck! Rebecca Zanetti is killing it (literally) with this series!

Laurel is one of the most unique heroines I’ve ever read and she captivated me just as much this time around as she did in the first book. Her abilities are otherworldly and her personality is one that intrigues me. I love characters portrayed as she is.

While I’m all about the hero, I have to confess that Huck doesn’t really win it with me. He seems a bit lackluster and less fiery than the heroes I’m accustomed to reading by this author. Of course, Ms. Zanetti has built a high bar for herself with previous heroes that have become some of my top favorites ever.

This storyline is one that refused to let me skim it. I was in a place where I needed to be able to read and move on and this book was not it. It forced me to pay attention to the details, to the clues, and to the characters. I love when a romantic suspense demands my attention in this way. It’s a sure sign that the writing is pure excellence.

This can be read as a standalone but I encourage you to read the first book. Also, beware…while this story concludes, it also leaves us with a honking hook for the next book.

You Can Hide is a wonderful rollercoaster ride that keeps you dangling til the very end. This thriller by Recca Zanetti has it all familial hostility, murder, quirky characters, romance, and suspense. Zanetti hit the mark by building the animosity between the two stepsisters, mixing in strange clues left by a serial killer who focuses on brutal murders of women, and a budding romance between the lead detectives on the case. You Can Hide is the second novel in this series by Zanetti, and I hope it won't be the last. She can create a powerful thriller that will stay with you long after the final page. < : 0

Another great book in the series.
Laurel is back in action as a new serial killer is on the loose in her home town. Even worse he is targeting Doctors, which includes Laurels own half sister Abigail. With her ragtag team and the help of Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers things begin to get tangled.

I loved the mystery of the killer, but I also enjoyed the quirk and angst between Laurel and Huck. Add in the crazy wired of half sister Abigail and you have one great read.

What I am most looking forward to is finding out what Abigail is really up to, and where Zeke Caine really is. Can’t wait for the next book.

FBI agent Laurel Snow is back in a second action packed adventure in Genesis Valley. In this entry, Laurel is investigating another serial killer in her home valley. Like the characters in the book, I also wondered how likely that would be and really appreciate that the author anticipates that concern and is laying out the reasoning in the book. I previously felt a little annoyed that the main character was somehow a brilliant profile who couldn’t relate to others. How could that be the case? You can understand motivations of killers but can’t understand common undercurrents in conversations? I still feel that way a bit but I’m letting go because it isn’t bothersome enough. The action was more fun in this book than the previous one I think the romance was second fiddle. I do like that the true main baddie is so close to the main character. I would certainly read the next book in this series! This was a fun and quick read.

Finally the second book in what I am tipping to be an amazing series. There is a serial killer on the lose and Laurel Snow is tasked with hunting him/her down. Don't despair Huck Rivers is also on hand to help her out.

This novel builds on the relationships we were introduced to in the first novel, so while you can read this one as a stand alone I recommend grabbing the first one and reading it. I was truly blown away by the character development in this instalment and I simply can not wait for book three.

First and foremost this is a mystery with a little romance thrown in to keep you smiling. The FBI procedural elements of these novel are totally realistic and so is the descriptions of a serial killers mind. The descriptions of the victims is somewhat detailed but I do not find it overwhelming in any way.

These books are amazing and I think this book was even better than book one. Zanetti has a real knack for writing interesting characters that you fall in love with and that is exactly what you get with You Can Hide. I highly recommend this book and this series.

Holy Crap!!

This author definitely knows how to keep you on your toes and guessing until the very end. The second book in this new series was just as good as the first one.

Laurel Snow is such a unique character. A FBI profiler who catches the seriously disturbed serial killers. With an IQ off the charts. She sees things different from other people.

I love the growth in her relationship with Huck Rivers. He was so stand-off ish in the first book but he has become way more approachable.

“It’ll be nice to work with Captain Sexy again. Why is a grumpy man with a chiseled jaw so appealing?”

Abigale is super creepy. Talk about strange and unusual!!
I for one can’t wait for more of these characters.

This is book 2 of the series and I do suggest reading book 1 ‘You Can Run’ to fully understand the main characters, their backgrounds and interconnecting relationships.
This time FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow is called in to investigate a body that turns up on the bank of the Sauk River with no hands. Because the death occurred in a state river, Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers is also part of the team investigating the death. As more bodies begin to pile up, Laurel and Huck begin to wonder what are the odds of two serial killers existing in such a small town. And when Laurel’s sociopath half sister Abigail seeks help from the police because she believes the killer is stalking her, Laurel and Huck must navigate some tricky waters between catching a killer and discovering if Abigail is also involved.
I like Laurel, she’s a bit different to other female protagonists I’ve read lately. She’s neurodivergent. As is her sister Abigail. It was interesting the relationship between the newly discovered half sisters. How can two such similarly intellectual sisters be so completely different? It’s a game of cat and mouse between those two and I think their showdown will ultimately be the conclusion to the series, whenever that is.
The spark between Laurel and Huck which began in book one, is still there in “You Can Hide”. I enjoyed their budding romance. Huck is accepting of Laurel and how different she is because he’s different too. Living with and managing his PTSD has changed his life and Laurel is bringing him out of his shell.
I really enjoyed this book. It had the right blend of mystery, suspense and romance for me. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series. 4 stars

This is the second book in the Laurel Snow series, and it is as good as the first one.

The FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow has barely dealt with catching one serial killer on the prowl in her small town, when it looks like another has appeared. And again, her half-sister Abigail may be involved. Special Agent Laurel Snow and Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers must find the killer before he attacks again.

Laurel is such a fascinating woman; she makes a great main character. Her brain really works in an extraordinary way and that’s only one of the things that make her really special. And thanks to this, the whole series is also unique. She and Huck make a really interesting and well-matched duo. I like the dynamics between them and where their relationship is going. But I also like the constantly growing group of supporting characters. There is some great potential in them. Just look at how much confusion Abigail can introduce.

The plot of this book is as interesting as the previous one. The murderer's method of operation is really interesting, and at first it is difficult to see what his motives might be. We also find a large group of suspects, including Laurel's half-sister Abigail. The victims of the murderer are successful women with doctor titles, which I also found an intriguing idea. The stakes are high, and the twists are surprising. The ending was really good, and it promises another exciting storyline in the next book (but the main storyline of this one is completed). I can't wait to see what will happen in the next books.

I read the first book in this series, but you don't have to. This book can be easily read without knowing the plot of the first one. Although I think it's better to start the series from the beginning because then you know the character, and everything is much more interesting. Then you know the story of Laurel and Abigail, and everything is even more exciting. Despite the brutal murders on women, the book is not very dark.

Better than the first book, we are settling into our reoccurring characters and even some new faces. Once again, not a romance at all. We have 1 sexual encounter, I couldn't even remember details if there really were any. We are all suspense here folks. Huck and Laurel do have some great interactions towards being something someday, but its very slow going.

The baddie here came out of left field IMO. It was obviously intended to be mysterious but I didn't feel like the pieces really fit together, even in hindsight.

Can't stand Addison, again, obviously the intent. I wish I knew how long this series is intended to run. I'm not really looking for a JD Robb style mega-verse and this feels like a slower moving alternative.
