I really enjoyed this conclusion to the Elements of Cadence duology. The magic system is so unique and it never felt predictable. The stakes were high and the plot moved along at a good pace, so I finished the book in two days. I'll be looking forward to reading more from Rebecca Ross.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley.

Overall: Special thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

…I honestly don’t know what I have to say about this book aside from that I LOVED it. There was mystery, suspense, friendship, family bonds, magic, heartache and love that was so beautifully done that I could NOT get enough of it. This was SUCH a good continuation of the first book and I can’t wait to reread this. And can I just say that the yearning in this book was so good!!

Usually I have more to say, but I loved this so much that I honestly can’t express it. Maybe at a later date I will have the words to express how much I enjoyed this, but you will not be disappointed in picking this up if you liked A River Enchanted.

(And just as an FYI, we get HEA’s y’all & it made my little heart swoon so hard 🥺)

Just as with A River Enchanted, A Fire Endless sweeps you up in its magical storytelling. It's cozy, atmospheric, and utterly beautiful. These books will be receiving high honors on my favorites shelf at home! I already have a shelf-talker up in my store for the first in the series and will continue to recommend these books to anyone who loves Celtic mythology, folklore, and fairies.

This sequel to A River Enchanted, which was released earlier this year, definitely revealed more of the world, explored more about the cast of characters, and answered questions leftover from that first book. I will say though, it just didn’t hook me in the same way. I think so much of what I was interested in book one had wrapped already, and so this book just didn’t feel wholly necessary. Rebecca Ross does still have a wonderful writing voice, and I’m interested to see what she will release next.

Literally can not get this duology out of my head, I'm obsessed. Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC of Ms. Ross's work. Review to be posted on GoodReads, Amazon and IG.

This was my most anticipated read of the year. A River Enchanted was a blind grab from BOTM and it forever will be one of my top favorite books, so I was excited to read an advanced copy of A Fire Endless!

I love that we are introduced to new characters from the beginning and we pick up not very far from where we left off. Some of our characters roles change and swap around which was very interesting and a take I wasn’t expecting. Sidra is my girl and this book just solidified it even more. We learn more about the Breccans, just how different they are and the lengths they go to survive, even amongst themselves. Family dynamics change and throughout made me wonder where things would really end.

It was a satisfactory read and conclusion. The only point that bothered me, purely just my personal preference, was there were more intimate scenes in this book and they were a bit more descriptive. I considered this book (and the last) to have strong enough characters and storyline for those more intimate details to not be needed at all.

Overall another great book from Becca J. Ross. Her knack for world building and creating emotion pulling characters is one of the top. I’m looking forward to her next!

Rebecca Ross's A River Enchanted Duology is truly amazing. This is the sequel to A River Enchanted, a Scottish-inspired fantasy novel about magic, music, and the elements.
Our characters in this novel are awesome. Obviously I love Jack and Adaira, but also Torin and Sidra!! I've probably said this in my review of the first book, but this is a rare instance of me actually liking main characters more than side characters. These people are all just so interesting, and I found myself just flying through the POVs with everyone, even more so than in the first novel. That's info for the paragraph about writing, but I think it's relevant that the characters are all so compelling and deep that you want to read more no matter who's narrating. That's all I really have to say here!
The romance in these books is immaculate. One thing about A Fire Endless is that all of the main characters are actually already in stable and permanent relationships. There are outside factors straining them (distance, power, magic, etc.), but there's also a comfort in knowing there's no romantic turmoil. I do think I like Jack and Adaira's relationship more than Torin and Sidra's as we got to see it develop from an earlier point, but both are crammed with mutual respect and love for both the other person and those they love.
Lastly, plot and writing and worldbuilding! I still think everything about the writing of this series is astounding. It creates the perfect balance of suspense, worldbuilding, feelings, and more. I don't have a single negative thing to say. As I said above, this book flows INCREDIBLY well, even better than the first book in the series. READ IT.
This book is definitely a sequel that lives up to the standard of book one. It's great for those who want a tame adult fantasy or even a bridge between YA and adult that isn't NA, more of an intro adult. It's the perfect combo of intricate and readable to the point where you can see how much energy has gone in, but the reader doesn't need nearly that much work to understand it. I can't recommend this duology enough!

A Fire Endless was an excellent conclusion to this beautiful, atmospheric fantasy duology. It picked up right where the last book left off and wove together different storylines for the characters. This book had great pacing and a very satisfying ending.

Brilliant!

The world building in this book was incredible. The story so immersive you can almost feel yourself in the magical land of Cadence.

Bringing the East and West together turns out to be something that not one person can do alone. Jack and the clans find they all need to let go of the ideas they held for so long to bring both clans together.

This story was truly beautiful. I may have cried a bit, but it was all worth it in the end.

A Fire Endless is a lovely and tense conclusion to the tale started in A River Enchanted. I think the pace flowed more smoothly in this novel because the characters and the world are mostly established. I really enjoyed that the spirits had names and motivations and weren’t just mysterious forces on the island. I thought all the main players saw a good amount of character growth as well. For the most part the story played out how I thought it would with a throughly satisfying end. I think this series was a great jumping off point for the author diving into adult fantasy, even if there is very little keeping this from being YA.

“A Fire Endless” is the second and final book on the Elements of Cadence duology by Rebecca Ross. This book picks up right where the first book ended and we follow our favorite characters from the first book as they navigate this world in different ways. A very vague synopsis but since this is a sequel, I don’t want to spoil the first book.

This book was stunning. Rebecca Ross is so great at crafting fantasy worlds that feel lush and cozy without the prose being too flowery. I loved how we really got to see both sides of the island in this book and get a feel of how different they are. This is a book about families and how they can be very different from one another and how far people will go to protect the ones they love. There were also several moments in this book where I did not know where the story was going to go and I was worried for the characters. I was literally giving my boyfriend a play by play of the events as I was reading them because I was getting so anxious about what could happen.

I am typically a fast reader. It isn’t anything for me to sit and read a 500 page book in one sitting but I really forced myself to take my time with this book and I feel like it made me love it even more. I got to really feel immersed in this world over a few days instead of a few hours and I absolutely loved that experience. And I’m not going to lie, the ending definitely made me tear up! I’m going to miss these characters and this world so much. I can see this being a story I come back to in the future.

A Fire Endless by Rebecca Ross

Adaira has gone to join the Breccans, leaving her husband Jack behind. In the 2nd installment of this beautiful story, members from both clans will have to navigate the mortal and immortal realm to save what they hold most dear.

This conclusion brings all the same things I adored about the first book. Folklore, community, and strong female leads. I loved how relationships continued to develop and how the faerie realm was incorporated. Fans of the Bear and the Nightingale series would LOVE this.

This series is so, so lovely. It has the same comfort of a warm hug and magical cosiness of a daydream.

And the atmosphere of this story is just as strong as it was in the first book. The fairytale-esque vibes with the lure of Scottish charm is just so lush. The mysterious island of Cadence, the resolution to an age-old feud between clans, and exploring the realm of spirits create a very tangible world.

And I can't get over how great the characters are. They are individuals that are so easy to empathise with and care for. The two main couples are separated for a good portion of the book, but I found myself not hating it as I normally would. I love how they each all bring something to the story.

Overall, a wonderful conclusion to a tale filled with so much heart.

Obsessed doesn't even begin to cover how I feel about this story! It's such a magically written book and Rebecca Ross writes in a way that makes me want to live in the story. I loved the first book and A Fire Endless was just was good. Absolutely adore these!

I absolutely loved A River Enchanted, and A Fire Endless is the perfect follow up, and conclusion, for this duology. Rebecca has such an incredible way with words that left me wanting to live in this world she created forever. I loved it.

Heavens above! The conclusion to this story is absolutely stunning. Every moment had me reading the next and next until finally tears started streaming and I found myself on the very last page completely satisfied.

This is a story about love at its very core. Yes there’s magic. Yes there’s action scenes & political intrigue, but the heart of it, is love and my gosh was it beautiful.

I can’t thank NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to bare witness of this beautiful ARC and conclusion to this marvelous story. I will be think about Jack, Adi, Torin and Sidra, for a very VERY long time!

I was so excited to be able to read this and have been looking forward to it since I finished the first book in this series. The author does such a good job of describing the island and the general atmosphere. I truly felt like I’ve been to this fictional location. Both of these books read more like a fairy tale to me which I loved as well.

A Fire Endless is everything I had hoped it would be and more.! The follow up to A River Enchanted, Ross delivers a beautiful second volume to her Elements of Cadence duology.

This story has the perfect mix of fantasy, action and romance. The highland island at the center of the story is split along 2 major clans that now must resolve their differences for any of them to survive. Jack, Adaira, Torin and Sidra mush each do their part, each paying a high personal cost of their own. I loved the characters, the beautiful setting and the magic system based in music. The plotting is paced perfectly with some exciting twists and a very satisfying conclusion.

This is simply one of the best fantasy stories of the year!

I am so thankful to Netgalley and Harper Voyager publishing for allowing me access to an eARC in exchange for this independent review.
