A stunning conclusion to my favorite book of the year, A River Enchanted. I was so happy to receive a copy of A Fire Endless that I dropped my entire TBR to pick it up immediately, and it did not disappoint. A truly magical tale, set on the mystical isle of Cadence, that feels like a character itself. Steeped in Scottish folklore, you will fall in love with the characters and the spirits that surround them. Fans of slow burn fantasy with lyrical prose will surely devour this duology. I absolutely adored this novel. This was a beautiful conclusion to the elements of cadence doulogy. I actually enjoyed A Fire Endless even more than A River Enchanted.

This story was just written so stunningly it was so easy to get swept up in the story of Jack, Adaira, Sidra, and Torin. They are all lovely main characters each on their own journey to help the spirits and attempt to improve relations between each of the clans.

I absolutely adored the interactions with the spirit world and loved meeting new spirits this book. Aside from Bane of course, they were all so sweet and I really loved their contribution to the story.

The ending was absolutely amazing. I was shocked at how it all happened but I loved every minute of it. This book was wonderful.

The magic and enchantment was so much more in-depth in this book. The world has set up even the hierarchy of the spirit structure so the action and politics is heavier in this book. We get to go to the West and see how they live and they have more of a warrior outlook than the village life in the East. There is so much magic and veils of spirit realms. There are ulterior motives and a romance trying to survive through everything.

These characters are so well developed and I could read another book with them. With Adaira, Jack, Torin and especially Sidra.

This was an excellent sequel to the lush and atmospheric story of A River Enchanted. Even without remembering the first book as well as I should, Jack and Adaira (and Torin and Sidra)’s stories are endearing and interesting and draw you in. It answers the questions leftover from the first book, and enriches the world and the magic—I loved getting to see the West through Adaira’s eyes.

While I did really enjoy this book, I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as the first book. A lot of the story is very slow, and I skimmed bits of even the action packed parts. While it’s still beautifully atmospheric, it’s not quite as much so as the first book, and the different tone didn’t work quite as well for me.

Overall, it’s a solid 3.75/5, and a strong ending for the duology.

I LOVED A River Enchanted earlier this year and have been counting down the day until A Fire Endless would be out. I did a happy dance when a copy showed up last week and dropped everything to read it with my bestie @reading.rambo. I was so happy to drop back into the isle of Cadence to see how things would work out after that wild ending in A River Enchanted. The pacing in this felt a little slow for the majority of the book, but I was still completed engaged with the story. I loved the peek inside the spirit world and would have loved to see even more of it - or perhaps a spin off?? I had a few minor annoyances with repetition of words (plaid is said so very often as is the nickname my old menace) but it probably wouldn’t bother anyone except me 😂 The ending felt a bit rushed to me and I was left wishing we could have seen a little more in the journey, but I was happy with how things wrapped up. This duology will definitely be in my top reads for 2022 and I highly encourage you to pick it up if you haven’t already!

A Fire Endless by Rebecca Ross is a beautiful conclusion to the Elements of Cadence series. If anything, the second book was even stronger than the first. The writing was beautiful and created a lyrical story that you were eager to keep reading, and it was exciting to continue following our main characters to their respective conclusions. All the characters are strong, well-written individuals that I cared about deeply. I highly recommend reading this beautiful series!

This is the 2nd book in the Elements of Cadence duology and picks up where A River Enchanted ends. This continues to follow Adaira, Jack, Torin, and Sidra after Adaira surrenders herself to the West. There she struggles to find her place amongst the Breccans and Jack struggles to see a life without her. In the East the trees are infected with a blight that has also begun to spread to the people. There Torin and Sidra must fight to find a cure in both the mortal and spirit world.

This book is just as beautiful as the first and I may like this one even more. I absolutely loved this world and the way Rebecca Ross weaved it. This feels like a daydream and is impossible to put down. This is a near perfect duology and I’m glad I waited to read A River Enchanted so I could move right into this one. If you are looking for a fantasy with lyrical narration, action, romance, and heartbreak this is it.

Somehow A Fire Endless was even more of a lyrical masterpiece than a River Enchanted. The stories of Jack, Adaira, Sidra, and Torin were told beautifully as they went on their separate paths and as their stories intertwined. The second half of their tale had me gripped the entire time, and I found myself constantly rooting for them to succeed as they worked to unite the East and West of Cadence. The pace of the book was just right, never making me wait too long but also letting me sweat some of the more tense parts. I can’t wait read more of what Rebecca Ross has to offer!

The first book was great but this one was just brilliant.

I really loved to learn more about the world of Cadence and the whole story behind the clan line and the fisión of the Island. The beginning of the book was amazing and I real loved Kae and how important she was in the story.

Although Adair’s became my favorite character in this book I did have a hard time liking her while I was reading the first couple chapters from Jack’s point of view. It was really heartbreaking!.
The relationship between Jack and Adair’s is one of the best I have ever read in a fantasy book and they way they protected each other and the decisions they made always thinking about the other were beautifully executed.

Tori’s and Sidra are another couple that have my heart. They are so different but it is so beautiful how they are willing to overcome their differences because they love each other.

Adaira’s adaptation to her new home was really heartbreaking to read and I think she became my favorite character right when I was reading those scenes.
My heart dropped when Jacked figured out about the letters! I was so anxious.

I really enjoyed learning about the West and how different from the East their customs are. Obviously my favorite thing about the West was the enchanted library, if only!.

I loved how every single mystery that the story had to reveal was through family ties. It was really beautiful how the found family trope was used, although it is not my favorite I had a lovely time reading Jack’s meeting with elsphet as well as how the family relationship turned out at the end.

The arena was pretty surprising and there were so many twist and drama that it will be really hard to resume it because everything was THAT good. I do have to say that ,y favorite parts of the book is when Adair’s takes Jacks to that very far and deep place. As well as when Kae at the end got what she truly deserved.

One thing I find very infesting and kinda funny was that it was Torin who went on that quest to the Spirits realm. One would of think it was going to be Sidra but I loved the way it turned out.

I have no complaints. I had high expectations and was met with a lot more. I cannot wait to read the published copy. I preordered the Illumicrate edition and should be here this week.

This was everything I wanted and more! This is my favorite duology to date and I will talk about it forever.

The book is told from multiple point-of-views just like in the first book. All of the characters are back and a few new ones also make their entrance and it was nice to get to know more about the spirits and their realm.

If you asked me who my favorite couple in this duology is I wouldn’t be able to tell you. Each pairing brings a different struggle to the table and a different sort of love. Each one melts your heart and also breaks it at the same time. It’s not even the romantic relationships either. The sibling bonds and parental ones are just as important. I cried tears of happiness and sadness, sometimes at the same time haha. It’s just so easy to get wrapped up and feel some sort of way towards what is happening to the characters. There is great character development!

I will say that, and maybe this is me picking haha, but I could see my personal relationship in Torin and Sidra’s. Through their struggles and not always seeing eye-to-eye and speaking out in anger. It made them very relatable and maybe that is why it hit so hard.

After the last book and the way that it ended I knew what one of the plot lines would be but I wasn’t expecting everything else that came with it. There were some wild moments and I was in utter disbelief at what I was reading! This is one of those books that you get anxious about and you have to continuously read because you have to know what will happen! My poor heart couldn’t take the suspense.

It’s really hard to put into words how this book made me feel. Usually five star reads are an easy review but this book was just so beautifully written and wonderful that it makes me at a loss for words.

Overall, this book was just amazing! No complaints at all. If you haven’t read this duology yet then get to it! You won’t be disappointed.

Rebecca Ross did it again and swept me away and into another beautiful, enchanting story that captured my soul through her tenderhearted characters, alluring prose, and dimensional world-building. I wanted to escape into this whimsical tale where myths and folklore entangle with tradition and honor, and I devoured every word of it.

After the heart-pounding events of A River Enchanted, we follow the residents of the Isle of Cadence as they fight for balance, each other, and a brighter future for their lands.

WOW. This book is so full of emotion, intention, and heart. Ross cleverly constructed each element carefully to piece together a perfectly well-rounded story. It was such a beautiful journey to go on with all of our beloved characters. I loved seeing them grow from the first book into this new one and how their relationships flourished into incredible partnerships filled with trust and love—it made my heart SO happy and full.

My favorite part of the novel, the romance, was written impeccably! Each love story builds on various levels of intense, strong emotions—including joy, heartbreak, longing, and determination. They both consist of multiple soft, small moments that amount to so much meaning and impact that it makes you fall hard for these couples and their journeys.

I savored every part of this amazing tale, and it is a new favorite that will stay with me for a long time.

This. Duology. OMG. It's been a long time since I have been entirely swept away by a story like I was with this one. I loved A River Enchanted but I think I may have loved A Fire Endless even more. It has all of the atmosphere and stunning lore with a deeper plot throughout. The prose is beautiful and this story was equal parts heartwarming and heart-pounding. I found myself gasping at the twists and turns and never wanted it to end.

The characters in this story also really stand out. This installment deepened the relationships throughout the story. It also gave us a deeper look into the faerie realm and fully fleshed out the world of Cadence. It was magical and comforting and everything I hoped it would be. I highly, highly recommend this duology for anyone looking for a cozy fantasy to fill their winter.

This is the follow up to A River Enchanted which I read at the beginning of the year. This one picks up right where we left in book one so it should really be read in order so that the story makes sense. I don't want to say a lot about this one incase you haven't read book one. This is a fantasy story that follows the inhabitants of The Isle of Cadence as they war between the East and West but now Bane the Spirit of the North Wind wants to control everything and the two sides might finally have to put their differences aside to beat Bane. I really enjoyed both book 1 and 2 of this series. The writing and story reminded me of Juliet Marillier who is my favorite fantasy author, both authors have a way of drawing you into their worlds and becoming invested in the characters. Whether you are new to fantasy or a fan of it I think this would be a good duology to pick up. Thank you Harper Voyager for my gifted copy for review, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Wow, wow, wow. I had very high hopes going into this, and I was not disappointed. Ross’s evocative prose created a magical and compelling sequel that had me hanging off every words. Not only that, but it had me yelling and crying along the way as well.

I loved getting to see Jack and Adaira each come into their own and really find their footing over the course of this book. Their individual arc and their arc as a couple were so beautiful and I was rooting for them the entire time. The love that they have for each other was leaping off the page and I devoured every single moment of it. I would read any story about these two and their love.

I enjoyed Sidra and Torin so much more in this installment, and found myself especially attached to Sidra. Both of them faced incredible challenges and I felt so proud of them throughout this book. I loved their soft moments together but I also enjoyed their individual paths in this story, even when they were hurting my heart.

The whole story was so beautiful, and it’s the most I’ve cried in a book in a very long time. This is one I already cannot wait to reread. A definite 5⭐️ from me.

An epic conclusion to an amazing duology! This book wove a spell around my heart, and it captured my soul. The writing in this book is just breathtaking, and I can’t recommend it enough.

A Fire Endless takes place right after the events in A River Enchanted. Ross seamlessly wove the two stories together. Bane, the spirit of the North Wind has pushed everyone and everything in his path off kilter, both East and West, in his claim for dominion over all.

Adaira is in the West, struggling to adjust to the ways of life of the Breccans. She is trying to find her place in the clan, and not sure if this is the role that she wants. The Breccans have magic, but the people are suffering in other ways.

Jack feels lost in the East without Adaira. When he sings to the ember-weak fire spirits, he finds himself on a dangerous quest that he never could have imagined. This quest will lead him westward. Torin and Sidra are entrenched in a mystery as a sickness spreads from the crops to the people of the Tamerlaine clan. Sidra searches for a cure, while Torin strikes a bargain with the spirits.

The island falls further out of balance, and humans and spirits must come together to face Bane. Will Jack, Adaira, Torin and Sidra be able to pay the sacrifice, or will it be more than they can bear?

I adored these characters so much, and I enjoyed experiencing their journeys and their growth, and watching how Ross brought everything together. Any questions that were unanswered in A River Enchanted were answered in this one. I can’t wait for my physical copies of the book to come, as this story will stay with me forever.

When I tell you that I jumped for joy when given early access to my second trip to Cadence, I mean I literally jumped. I love this world Ross has created; she has such a beautiful writing style--one that sweeps you in. Her style has an almost musicality to it and it seems only right she developed a world centered around a bard.

What a thrilling conclusion to such a wonderful story! This duology will remain near and dear to my heart. If you love cozy, slow-burn fantasies--then please pick up this duo up! I find them to be so refreshing and a great pallet cleanser from reading fantasies that may be more action heavy. These novels feel like a literal breath of fresh air.

I think two books was the perfect length for this story and I was very happy with the conclusion to the Isle of Cadence.

I have never experienced anything quite like the experience of reading this wonderful series. The Elements of Cadence series is incredibly emotional and magical while also feeling like a warm, cozy hug. I could spend a million books in this world without getting enough, but the ending of this book and thus the series was incredibly satisfying.

I felt immediately immersed in the world and story when starting this sequel, even though I read A River Enchanted back in February this year. It felt so good to return to the isle of Cadence, reading through the eyes of Jack, Adaira, Sidra, Torin and even little Frae! Fire made me cry several times and Rebecca Ross swept me up in her storytelling and prose. One of my top reads of the year - if not #1.

I'll be honest, sequels need to have a little "previously on" section in the beginning because I was having trouble remembering where we left off. 😂 But after a few chapters, I figured things out and was totally immersed in the world of Cadence again! And read the entire book in a few days.

I adored A River Enchanted and this continued the story beautifully. The characters, spirits, and atmosphere of the island are wonderful. You just get completely caught up in this world.

While I think it ended in a satisfying way, I must say I'm not sure *I'm* done with Cadence, I would absolutely read a third book. (It's a duology, so no more with these characters.)

Absolutely incredible finale to this duology. If I had known she was going to put the “who did this to you” trope in here???? Would’ve dropped everything when I initially received the ARC. I absolutely loved the writing style. This is a cozy fantasy romance, deals with lots of adults topics and was such a beautiful story to read. Her writing is absolutely stellar and musical. If you’re wanting a slower paced fantasy story, I highly suggest this duology!
