Controlled Chaos is the sixth book in the McCullough Mountain series. This is the final siblings story.
If you've read the other books you've likely fallen in love with the seven siblings, each unique in their own way. Braydon McCullough had a special place, he's the only brother to truly branch out from the family and live in the big city. But the city isn't where he wants to end up, it's lonely with only his work to keep him busy. When he's propositioned for a night with no strings from a beautiful woman he's certainly willing. That one night isn't going to be enough, as fate would have it he'll get a second chance.
Becca Stevens is holding on by a thread, her life is chaotic and she's tired. When her best friend pushes her to step out from behind her past and embrace life she decides to jump. Yet when Brayden pushes for more she's resistance and puts the breaks on. There is so much he doesn't understand and she's trained herself to be wary of anyone offering her more. But maybe it's time for her to truly look at what's best for her and makes her happy while dealing with her messy life. Maybe that happiness can come from a man who was only supposed to be a one night stand.

Love the protective main male character who will stop at nothing to get his girl. Was a great read, story line had lots of twists and turns keeping you guessing. Couldn’t put it down.

While I liked the story overall, I had a difficult time liking the main characters; Braydon and Becca. In the beginning, Braydon came across as an arrogant, self-entitled almost stalkerish jerk. I struggled to get through the beginning because of this. It was only once Braydon had a wake-up conversation with his family that he became a much more endearing character.
While I could appreciate Becca’s struggles in juggling her autistic child’s needs, her adult obligations and a new romance, her constant pessimism wore me down so much that I was actually rooting for Braydon to move on. Lucky for her he did not.
I loved Braydon’s family! The love and laughter from them were my favorite parts of this book.

I loved this romance - I don't know what it was about the story that made me happy - Maybe it was the adult way that Braydon and Becca handle their relationship. I loved that Becca had a child on the spectrum - this adds a great element and I am sure we all learned a lot about the struggles and joys of parenting.

Braydon came on broad and was so level-headed even though Becca had a lot of emotions and baggage to let go of with her divorce

I just enjoyed the whole thing - a great read with some great topics as well as spicy sec scenes

*Thank you to NetGalley & the author for an ARC of this book.*

I have been loving these re-releases of the McCullough Mountain series. I love spending time with them and seeing them find their HEAs. I really can't wait to go back in time and read about the parents and also see Kate get her man too.

For now, I just finished reading about Braydon and Becca. Who start as a One Night Stand and end up on the Forever and Always train. It's not an easy road for them though. Not that it ever is. But Becca may be wild and free and looking for a good time when she meets Bray, but it's only gonna be that ONE NIGHT in her mind.

Then she walks into work the next day and who should be collaborating with her company but... Braydon McCullough! The last person she wants to see, because he might want to see her again.. he might send her flowers and show up at her house and find out that she not the carefree woman he met before... in fact, she is overwhelmed being a single, divorced mom to a sweet but difficult Autistic son, Hunter.

This book did a great job showing the challenges she was facing while also showing her love and hope for Hunter's future. I also loved how Braydon dived right in and did his research but also wasn't afraid to ask questions and see how he could support Becca.

My biggest issue with this one was the 3rd act break up in this book. It soured a lot of the happy feelings I was having in a way i didn't expect from this author. However, the dream that Braydon offers of course, wins out in the end. And I still look forward to many more books in the future.

I was happy to finally get to read Braydon's story and it was a great one. I enjoyed this one as much as the first book about Colin. I was pleased to see how Braydon had grown and developed into a wonderful adult. He was terrific with Becca and her special needs son. With that said, I was not real happy with Becca and felt that she was her own worst enemy and really hurt Braydon before getting their HEA. I enjoyed, as always, catching up with the rest of the McCullough family.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Controlled Chaos is part of the McCullough Mountain series and unfortunately I read them completely out of order. It is possible to read the series without reading the others however it definitely helps to understand the family and their relationships with each other. This book especially feels like an epilogue to everyone's stories and so I recommend going back and reading the others first.

The author doesnt shy away from tough topics and this one was no exception with very detailed descriptions of neurodivergence and autism parenting. It was a lovely book about a hard topic and I feel it was dealt with respectfully and beautifully.

The romance was quick, and lovely without a lot of slow burn.

CONTROLLED CHAOS, the sixth in the McCullough family series, provides author Lydia Michaels with another opportunity to explore romance with the full gamut of human experience. In this book, the female lead’s child is neurodivergent and readers experience the lifestyle, challenges and rewards associated with that family before, during and after the romance at the heart of this tale. It is a beautifully told and sensitive tale, filled with warmth, frustration and triumph. This is another winning book in the series. I received my copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

I absolutely loved this book! My nephew is autistic so seeing accurate representation in a book gave me an indescribable love for the book and author.
