This title was geared towards a younger audience. Themes included self care, embracing differences, supporting and depending on others in times of need, coping with depression and anxiety, and making friends. More of a positive comic than a funny one.

This compilation of comics features an adorable cast of characters as they find comfort in themselves and one another. The stories are heartwarming and relatable, which is really a good pairing, isn’t it? They cover things like mental health as well as how you don’t have to always be okay. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone who’s looking for this absolutely endearing pile of positivity.

Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the e-ARC!

One Cup at a Time collects webcomics from the Cats Cafe Comics Series, which follows various animal characters who visit Cat’s Cafe. Some characters experience issues with self-esteem or mental health, while others seek friendship or just want to be a good person and help others. I adore these comics because they address these topics in a wholesome and helpful way. They’re cute, and funny, and always brighten my day. I loved the first volume and loved this one just as much!

Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the e-arc!

many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read this short and sweet graphic novel for free, lt was exactly what I needed to read today ! I cried so many time while reading it - not sad crying though ... some of the lines these cute animals said were just too comforting and relatable + i kinda needed someone to say these things to me today? not because I didn’t know them or didn’t hear them before i just think I tend to forget them when I’m actually down/in a bad place mentally …. Being reminded that life must go on and everything is going to be okay eventually is just comforting enough to me :} anyways this small book lifted my mood :D I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who’s having a hard time - I believe it will help you feel at least a little bit better ?

This was so cute! I've been feeling quite anxious lately and reading these comics actually made me feel better. The little stories are so cute and uplifting.
Well put together, the art is very good. The stores are funny, relatable or cute sometimes even all those at once. My favourite was the fox and the cat one where the cat learns some sign language to talk to the fox.
Highly reccomend if you're feeling a bit down and need a pick me up. Also good when you're having a hard time concentrating because the stories are short and sweet, most are just one page but some are a bit longer.

I absolutely love Matt Tarpley’s webcomic “Cat’s Cafe” and I adored this collection! One Cup at a Time is the perfect read for whenever you feel down or unsure of yourself, as it does an amazing job of reassuring the reader that their struggles are valid by showing all different types of characters with their own struggles.

All the different characters are loveable and relatable, as they all are unique in their own way. Some examples of the different characters include: a fox that’s hard of hearing and uses sign language, an opossum who struggles with depression, and a gator who has imposter syndrome.

I would recommend this collection to anyone who needs a little pick me up and some positivity; and especially to those who love cute artwork!

Thank you so much to Netgalley for giving me this arc in exchange for an honest review!

Looking for an adorable, cute, light-hearted, escape into a world of animals who love coffee? This anthropomorphic book is for you! Positivity leeks through the pages as the Cat Cafe's owner, whom, fittingly, is a cat, shares encouragement and advice to its troubled friends and customers. The problems and advice may be in cartoon form, but their relatability to the real world are easily seen, along with the reminder to be good to yourself and appreciate who you are and what makes you different, and sometimes, life sucks and that's okay to admit. This is seen through simplistic panels that provide a powerful message using a variety of cute, colorful creatures, worries/stresses such as anxiety, mixed with humor and thoughtfulness.

This was the most adorable and uplifting little comics I've ever read! I loved it so much! Some are cute and adorable and some are funny. I would definitely buy this for a friend who suffers from anxiety. A lot of the comics are relating to anxiety and how it's okay to not be okay.

I only discovered Matt Tarpley's Cat's Café comics earlier this year and I absolutely DEVOURED the first collection. I saved so many of the little comics to come back to and read on rainy days, and this collection made me shriek with excitement when I saw it pop up for review!

One Cup at a Time is a wonderful follow-up to the first collection. It contains so many adorable moments with the characters that I grew to adore. I really loved the positive spin and how it addressed mental health in a lighthearted but serious way! I think my favorite little section was rat's journey, it was so cute and such a wonderful extended comic in the set.

I think Matt Tarpley's illustrations are some of my favorite things in the entire world. The simplicity of the characters set against the warmth of a coffee shop just add to the overall wholesome and cozy atmosphere. What an absolutely fantastic collection!

What a sweet collection of comics! Before this little graphic novel I’d never heard of the Cat’s Cafe webcomics and it’s positive outlook on mental health issues. Each page in this book is like a little colorful hug for the person reading it, especially if you feel alone and or lonely in your life. Plus there are a few chuckles as well especially from Kiwi, the knife toting bird. Highly recommend!

This book was absolutely one of the best Graphic Novels I’ve picked up in a long time. The art style was absolutely stunning. How the book was also a self help book of sorts was just well done. I related to each story in different ways. It’s one of those books that make you say “yeah. It’ll be okay” just absolutely blown away. Loved it so much. Thank you Netgalley for giving me the chance to review this.

Such a great read, loved all the cute animals. The author did a great job discussing topics such as mental health, self esteem and friendship that many people struggle with. Just loved all of the different characters and how they are able to overcome these real life issues. I was able to relate to a few of the adorable animals and we always need friends who are there for us no matter what’s happening in our lives. Loved it, would love to see more from the author.

One Cup at a Time by Matt Tarpley is a wonderful, impactful webcomic following a bunch of cute animals as they navigate the ups and downs of life. Some of the stories made me laugh and some felt so relatable. The illustrations were adorable and supported the story. I haven't read Cat's Cafe yet, but will definitely check it out.

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an eARC of One Cup At A Time: A Cat's Cafe Collection by Matt Tarpley in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! So cute!! What a fun time. This book has an absolutely adorable cast of characters, all struggling with their mental health in one way or another, and all celebrating the little victories throughout the day. We get to follow these furry friends throughout a calendar year and see them interact with different seasons and holidays like Halloween and snow in winter.

My only complaint is that I wish that the continuous narrative that was present throughout this collection of comics was not so stilted. I think perhaps following one character at a time and then having scenes with them all together at the end of the book might have been a better execution.

Overall, this is a feel good book and a wonderful reminder to be kind because we all experience mental struggles differently and can measure victory in small increments.

A very sweet collection of fluffy and loving characters that let you know it's ok to not be ok.
Each suffer feelings we all have; loneliness, depression, lack of confidence, unloved, and show how someone somewhere will help.
For me, a little too saccharin sweet, but I'm cynical so...take it for what that is.
Illustrations are very well done and I love kiwi, a tiny kiwi bird who carries a knife. Kiwi isn't dangerous, just willing to protect the ones they love with all their little body has. Just precious
Thanks to @netgalley, Andrews McMeel Publishing, and Matt Tarpley for the opportunity to read this eArc in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
