There were some parts of this collection I loved, but it felt more like a series of tweets than poetry, with seemingly random line breaks and no punctuation.

That being said, Williams does an amazing job at presenting complex issues in an emotionally charged but accessible manner.

I would say I enjoyed this, particularly as modern poetry isn't a genre I generally like, but I probably wouldn't read it again

I truly enjoy poetry and thought-provoking phrases. Renaada definitely delivers and this book has fully caught my attention to dive into some of her other work. I enjoyed the journey that Renaada takes the reader on throughout this book and love the simplicity and directness of her writing style. This book truly is a journey of self-love and a reminder to take time to heal.

Thank you so much to NetGalley for an e-ARC copy of this book.

I really wanted to love this, however I didn't find that many of the poems to be that profound, touching or even thought provoking. I enjoyed the ones about race, as they provided a new perspective on issues I have never personally faced, however the majority of the poems in this collection are about love and self-love, relationships, and healing. While these are plentiful topics too drawn from, all the poems about them felt like ones I had already read before. This is not bad poetry, it just wasn't for me.

This was a nice read. This wasn't my favorite writing, but I did like how open and vulnerable the author was

A fun fact about me is I *love* poetry.

Love it, cannot say enough good things about it. And Renaada's work in this novel is no different. I loved how she shaped her prose, each section flowing into the next to speak about the beauty and the darkness of life all together. She spoke on her own experiences of being a black woman, of having a turbulent relationship with her father, and of experiencing the gift of new life. Renaada is relatable voice, and I thoroughly enjoyed her prose as it was woven through each topic.

I recommend this to anyone who loves poetry as much as I do. Thank you to Netgalley for my review copy!
