I love K. O'Neil and all their work. The art style just brings me pure joy.

In this story, Anya is training to take over the duty as the moth keeper. She is in for a solitary life of duty and honor: alone in the desert night with just the moths as company. While she craves fulfillment in her role, she also dreads being alone with just her thoughts. She dreams of the sun and the village of the sun. One fateful day, she spends a day in the sun village and there are dire consequences. Can Anya rally all the lunar moths together to pollinate the flowers in time?

This is a middle grade approved graphic novel for my classroom! It was adorable.

What a beautiful story! I love Kay's work and The Moth Keeper feels very timely having gone through a global pandemic. The Moth Keeper is a graphic novel about a child who becomes the new moth keeper for her village. It's a big responsibility and requires a lot of time in solitude through the night. This is a story about burnout, loneliness, and the effects of parental neglect, all delivered with gorgeous art in a way that will be accessible even for young children. It's about the importance of community, about how love and friendship can be healing, and about how we don't have to shoulder everything ourselves. I found this to be incredibly moving and will be buying a copy when it's released. I received a digital advance copy for review via NetGalley, all opinions are my own.

This story was incredible to read! I adored Anya and her journey to discovering herself and what she wants out of life. "We live our lives surrounded by the darkness... I want to try and be a light for others." The art was absolutely beautiful and I'm obsessed with every page. The art style is unique, along with the character, and the landscapes were breathtaking,

I greatly enjoy this author's work! The Moth Keeper is a brilliant series that I will be recommending and sharing to my Children's Librarian and her staff.

Beautifully illustrated with a rich storyline

For Libraries: Suitable for youth graphic collections, but your middle grade and older readers will get more out of the story than your younger ones.

This is a charming graphic novel that explores how light and dark, day and night all intertwine.

Anya is a darling character and I adore the subtlety of the LGBTQ characters. All around a wonderful graphic that I'll be sure to recommend for purchase at our library.

I can always count on Kay O'Neill to deliver something beautiful, inclusive, and poignant. This one wasn't as strong as her Tea Dragon books, but i truly enjoyed it all the same.

I've truly enjoyed Kay O'Neill's work for a long time now, but I think this book, of all of theirs, hit me the most. It's a quiet, slow, introspective story, that is beautifully written and illustrated. If you need a reminder that everyone needs to rely on others from time to time or the beauty of community, read this book. If you're just looking for a lovely story with fantasy elements (I'm talking to all the cozy fantasy readers, here), read this book. If you've at all enjoyed Kay's previous work, read this book! I'm going to be recommending this one for a long, long time.

O'Neill has been on my radar since I've seen the cover for The Tea Dragon Society but I have never read their work. Their work seems like something I wished for as a kid and reading this book was like reliving my childhood.

The Moth Keeper was a magical read. The story flowed beautifully and it really touched my heart. The narrator is so super lovable and you never wanted it to end. It packs quite an emotional feel to it. It was super cute and one I can see a lot of kids and adults loving. The art was adorable and really stands out from the rest. The entire package was fantastic and memorable.

I'll read anything by K. O'Neill at this point. There's something about her work that it just so warm and cozy, even when it's broaching serious topics that can be challenging to overcome in real life. The Moth Keeper keeps to that theme and tells a beautiful story about about accepting friendship and help in your life. Art work as always is A+

This was sweet but I definitely prefer Kay's other books. I liked the art but I didn't love the story. I think other people will love the story, though. I think maybe I'm not the perfect audience for this. In Kay's other books, I liked the animal characters but I didn't like how in this book the characters were like half human half animal. That's my personal artistic preference though. This story could be done with human characters and it could be the same story.

Being a moth keeper is a big responsibility but what happens if the new keeper decides to abandon their post to see the sun? Done by the creator of Tea Dragon Society this story is everything you would expect from K O'Neill. The art is adorable. I want to frame the pictures and hang them on my wall. The story is about friendship and hope and everything that you want in a middle grade comic. It is a little longer than the Tea Dragons, but that made it even more perfect because I did not want this journey to ever end.

3.5 stars!!

This book was very cute. And I think it would be a fantastic graphic novel to read with your children.

I love the story teller. The wings are so pretty!
You have the sun village and the moon village and I love how both can see the benefits of the other side based off of the struggles they personally go through or the tough parts of living during a specific time.

The story of being afraid of the dark is natural and becoming lonely is as well. You just need to remember to be there for people and allow others to be there for you as well until it isn’t as scary.

If you are looking for a cute, very quick and sweet read definitely check this out.

I'm a fan of Kay O'Neill so I'm probably biased, but I found this book extremely charming. Both the lovely worldbuilding and the cute character designs made me feel warm and fuzzy. I would definitely recommend this book to fans of fantasy comics.

I didn't think this story was as strong as some of K. O'Neill's other books, but I still really adored the artwork, the diversity, the beauty of the story.
