I loved this book for so many reasons! It is sweet, beautiful and truly thought-provoking. The homesteading movement is something I did not know a lot about, but something my daughter has been telling me more of. A desire to simplify and increase spirituality drew me to this book. It is truly lovely and highly recommended.

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook, it was a quick and fun listen. The audiobook is narrated by the author, and you can hear her emotion and smiles when she is talking about certain parts of her story. She has a soothing voice and it was enjoyable to listen to. The Grace-Filled Homestead is all about following your dreams and following Jesus, weaving the 2 together in a beautiful story. The author is honest about how hard homesteading is but also shares about how rewarding it is. You can tell by reading a short time in this book how much the author loves animals, especially her goats. As an animal lover I enjoyed those parts especially. There are DIY projects and recipes throughout, which all sounded wonderful and delicious. I am planning to get the physical copy of this book just so I can have the recipes and see the pictures.

The Grace-Filled Homestead was a neat book to listen to, but I would recommend buying the book instead. I think I would have enjoyed the book more.
I love the cover of this book - it represents the warm and cozy feeling you get from the rest of the book. I have always loved goats but never have had any, they are so cute. This book does make you want to buy some land and move out of the city limits.

This was a short, sweet read. The author gave good Biblical reminders in her stories of living intentionally and to the fullest. She ended each chapter with a recipe or a how-to activity. It was really sweet. She talked a lot about her farm and animals which I couldn't relate to but wanted to.

Endearing and soft. In a good way. Just like the cover, the book is warm and cozy. It makes building my safe haven for my kids and doing the things I desire attainable. So well done!

I listened to this audiobook as an advanced reader of @netgalley (in exchange for an honest review)and I wish I had the actual book. It’s going to be the perfect coffee table book to add. Homesteading is a passion and dream of mine. And well faith, family, farm and oh my baby goats on the cover - its speaking my love language in all the ways. I enjoyed listening to this read and reconnecting to my why behind making all the big moves in life. I loved how she shared her homesteading journey, recipes and other tips, sprinkled with faith throughout the chapters. If a slower more intentional way of living is something you think about but not really sure, this is an easy read or listen to inspire you to connect with your why and tune into that feeling. May you live the grace-filled life whether on the farm or in the city that you desire.

Well now I just want to move on some land, grow a garden and play with goats! I want a grace-filled intentional life.

I received an audiobook of The Grace-Filled Homestead and really appreciated that the author read it. I enjoyed consuming this on audiobook, it felt like that author was just telling me stories about her life in my car. It kept me entertained. I hope then released, it will come with PDF of the recipes and such, as that is hard to put to use from an audio copy.

Bottom Line: If you are interested in becoming more self sustaining, homesteading, farm house living, etc, read it!

This audiobook was a good refresher for anyone struggling with their “why” when it comes to homesteading and living a slower paced, simpler lifestyle. The author gives several cute antidotes of things that have happened to her family and how they found grace throughout. I did find some portions to be somewhat redundant and wasn’t a huge fan of the author’s narration. She seemed nervous and the quality was a little lacking.

i loved having insight into a way of life ive always admired. i know the homestead life isnt for everyone but its been one ive always been curious about. i felt like the author was authentic and great some great advice on how to slow our lives down and learn how to live life on the simple side but how enriching it is to actually put in the effort to live out your dreams. i also appreciated the personal stories that were told and how faith is tied in. overall a wonderful look at life on a homestead & this was a great audio book to listen too that will (at least for myself) have you wanting to start looking at land and to slow down and appreciate the blessings youve been given.

As someone who also lives on a hobby farm, this book greatly appealed to me right away. The title (looking at you, "faith" and "farm") and the cover (excuse me, baby goats <3 ) hit all my buzz words.

Lana's faith really inspired me, while her humor and wit made this a quick and entertaining read. I loved hearing about the ups and down's and how it all related back to simple and intentional living. The world today is all about 'more, more, more!' and The Grace-Filled Homestead was a great reminder to slow down and focus on the things that truly matter. The inclusion of recipes was a great addition to the book, every recipe made me want to drop everything and eat!

I do wish there was more faith content, though. What was there, I loved, but some of it seemed tossed in just to keep up the Christian narrative. I would've really enjoyed more scripture related texts and more about how their faith has encouraged the slow-living lifestyle Lana was describing.

Overall, The Faith-Filled Homestead was a quick and uplifting read, I only wish it was a bit *more*.

I love that this audiobook is read by the author! It just seems to give it more authenticity and entertainment! I truly enjoyed listening to this and had to buy a physical copy, too!

I love how Lana weaves stories from her life into homesteading and turning it all back to God. It's truly inspirational along with moments I was laughing out loud and moments of tears. I can't wait to try some of the recipes she shares at the end of each chapter. They sound scrumptious!

I can't wait to start our homestead life! This book was a wonderful look into homesteading and finding God in the details!

First, please, PLEASE tell authors not to narrate their own books. They know the story. They have told it a thousand times. They have written it, read it, re-read it, rewritten it, proofed it, scanned it and revisited it so many times that their delivery is horrible. It is flat, not engaging and painful. They are AUTHORS, not performance artists and not narrators. Only once have I listened to a book narrated by the author and enjoyed it. This was not that time.

The story itself was okay, but not terribly engaging – which is, in part, down to the horrible narration. But there was no point to it. I listened. I homestead and there were things Ms. Stenner wrote/read that I have experienced myself, but nothing that made me think, “YEA! THIS… this is why I listened to this book! So glad I did.” And I’m not. It kept me occupied while I did some mindless chores around here, but it wasn’t anything special.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the mix of faith and family, the author's story was very uplifting. As someone who does not live on a large homestead, there was still so much that could be taken away and applied to my own life. I did like the audio format, it felt like sitting down for a conversion with the author. I do hope that the final edition will feature a PDF download with the recipes and how-to items.

The Grace-Filled Homestead, as stated in the tag line, is about the lessons Lana Stenner learned about faith, family, and the farm. The audiobook is read by Stenner herself so it feels more like a conversation.

I found this short audiobook to be pretty instructional with its "homestead how-to" and "from the recipe box". I so wished I had read this book before I tossed out my old bookcase. The shelves had fallen apart but the rest of it was in great shape, I just couldn't think of a use for it. In one of the how-tos, Stenner told how she repurposed an old bookcase into a raised garden bed.

I liked that she considered that homesteaders come in all land sizes - apartment dwellers to 40-acre ranches. And encouraged the reader to do what they could with what they got.

There are a few faith-based objects lessons that were just too ripe to pass up. While Stenner is a Christian and the object lessons are in terms of her relationship to God, they are also good life lessons. These stories are shared as part of her life and not overtly to evangelize.

I started this list with a book that at times made me feel guilty, this book had me feeling hopeful and uplifted. Stenner is inspiring in her homesteading journey and her story is quite uplifting. I've been struggling with homesteading on my own, and while Stenner does have a husband that helps her, I felt encouraged after listening to this audiobook.

If you are looking for an instructional read that is also inspiring and leaves you feeling encouraged, then this is the book to pick up.

I really enjoyed this audiobook that was narrated by the author, Lana Stenner. I have an interest in being a homesteader and becoming more self sufficient and growing my own foods, etc. so I was excited to be able to listen to the ARC of this audiobook. I am honestly not anywhere near the point of raising goats and chickens (although I loved Lana’s informative and entertaining stories about her family’s experiences in making the decision to start doing that). I liked the life lessons and wisdom she shared about her family, where they started and how they got to the place they are now. I loved her anecdotes and thought that the idea to include recipes and helpful hints about preserving foods was a really great addition. I learned a lot and enjoyed her stories about her family, their strong faith and the many joys (and challenges) they’ve experienced during their journey to becoming homesteaders.

The Grace-Filled Homestead held my attention. It was full of sweet anecdotes about Lana’s decision to leave corporate life and fully embrace a life of homesteading. They face trials in their journey, but also form sweet memories together. A light, fun read that was narrated by the author herself.

I’m not a homesteader. And I feel like that’s important to clarify before going on.

Lana’s candid way of presenting her homestead life was easy to listen to, and truly delightful. While I’m most definitely a city girl, her thoughts about slow living and community really struck a chord with me.

I don’t see myself raising goats or chickens (even if the author is confident that I’ll love them)! But I know I want a grace-filled intentional life. And the practical and friendly way in which she navigates this topic is so wonderful.

Obviously, I loved the stories more than the homesteading advice, but I can see myself easily recommending this book to friends of mine who do desire their own homesteads.

The recipes and projects peppered into each chapter would make this book something I’d want to keep close at hand if I had my own homestead, and I think they are such a beautiful and personal touch!

Overall, this book was really sweet, and I’m glad I gave it a listen!

As a person who doesn’t live on a homestead, but would love to, I enjoyed this book. The author includes stories from her life and about her faith, tips for starting your own farm, recipes, and small projects. It’s a fun read about her journey. Thank you to Dreamscape Media for the audio copy of this book.

I had to stop when I heard "we had a house in the RIGHT neighborhood".

Very pretentious and I could not finish.

I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful book, narrated by the author on audio, as she describes every day moments through life with family and friends. She beautifully describes the ups and downs of life, the changes of the seasons and the times of transition that she has experienced living on a homestead with her family. The way she pairs places around the farm with lessons learned and important tie-ins with her faith were simply and beautifully said. I found this book to be a valuable reminder of God’s faith and endurance as He remains by our side throughout all the seasons of our life and how simple yet powerful His love and mercy are. Each chapter includes memories and lessons, a connection to faith and a recipe that is beloved by the author.

This is my introduction to the author. I enjoyed getting to know her throughout the course of the story and appreciated her messages of slowing down, enjoying the every day moments and finding the beauty and embracing the gifts that God has given us. Each of her stories resonated with me differently and I found myself truly appreciating the simple yet profound correlations between every day life and God‘s love for us.

I have a feeling that this is going to be a fantastic coffee table book, a book that can be revisited time and time again and referred to for inspiration and for important life reminders. Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance copy of the book, all opinions are my own.
