Absolutely love this..... So many fabulous ideas for Christmas I'm spoilt for choice over where to start! Do I make to sell at Christmas Fayres, do I keep for myself and family or do I make to give as presents? So many nice decisions to be able to make and there's something for everyone in here young and old and whatever gender. Many thanks for letting me read this book I will be looking out for more from Becci.

We are here for ALL things Christmas, holidays, and celebrations and this one is the perfect Christmas “everything” book from gift ideas, craft projects, recipes, and more. This one, through all of its many facets, works to bring the coziness of a Scandinavian winter season to your home, and range from wild winter birch wreaths, Christmas tree bath scrip, ornament making, and recipes with all the Christmas comfort foods. I think my favorite part of this one is that it includes a lot of traditional Scandinavian Christmas games for the whole family to participate in – this one is a great way to infuse a classic holiday with more fun, more shared memories, more high caloric value treats, and a whole lot of togetherness. Special shoutout to the chocolate marzipans, rum balls, and homemade coffee liqueur.

Wow! What a fun Christmas Craft book! I enjoyed the pictures, projects, and the well written directions. The book is broken down into 5 chapters, Decorations for Christmas, Edible Gifts, Quick and Easy Crafts, Christmas Comfort Food, and Family Fun. Traditional Scandinavian ornaments, food and traditions in one easy to follow book. The ornaments were fresh and really cute! The Most of the supplies will be easy to obtain and gather. The skill level ranges from child to adult, beginner to confident crafter, with most falling somewhere in between. The crafts are delightful and the recipes sound delicious. I will be using this lovely book for Christmas crafts and entertaining.

I initially snagged this title because I've been in a mood lately and was hoping to get some ideas for the holiday season to cheer me up.

NOT PREPARED FOR THE SHEER AMOUNT OF FESTIVITY BURSTING OUT OF THIS BOOK!! From decorating ideas to edible gifts- my expectations of what I'd get out of this were FAR exceeded. Everything was so well organized and SO much thought and love was put into this book. Each recipe or craft is wonderfully detailed and includes extra information that may prove helpful- how long things can be made in advance and can be stored, which recipes are great to incorporate with your kids, what you may have around your house in case you don't have a certain item for one of the crafts.

AND...THE GNOMES!! THE GNOMES, THE GNOMES, THE GNOMES!!! (IYKYK)- I AM MAKING ALL THOSE LITTLE DUDES- ugh, they are sheer perfection and they don't require sewing so- GAME ON!!

I will credit (and blame) this book when my home is overrun with full-size and mini gnomes this holiday season (but I do have an excess of socks missing their partners, so I guess I'll use them for this project instead of wearing two different socks ;-)).

Craft Your Own Cosy Scandi Christmas is a book full of crafts and recipes for the holidays. The pictures are excellent and the instructions are fairly easy to follow. The ingredients are not really things I would have on hand so a trip to the store may be in order. All in all, it is very well done and a lot of fun.

Craft Your Own Cosy Scandi Christmas was a great way to start getting in the Christmas mood. There are a wide variety of crafts in this book and the author exhibits extensive creativity. There is also a wide variety of options for readers to choose from including crafts, recipes and games. My favorites are the white clay ornaments and the hot chocolate mix recipe. I thought the photography could use a little work. A lot of the pictures were a bit too zoomed in for me to really appreciate the project. I did enjoy learning a little more about Scandi culture.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Thank you to Pen & Sword and Becci Coombes for the advanced reader copy of Craft Your Own Cosy Scandi Christmas via NetGalley.

This book features some beautiful photography of fun crafts to make for the holiday season. Many of the crafts included can also be modified to make year-round projects.

The book is written as a narrative, with the instructions for the crafts and recipes dropped in to the author's story and memories of their childhood.

The crafts are for a range of abilities and price points. Some readers may be disappointed as a significant proportion of the crafts featured are easily found on the internet nowadays, especially with platforms like Pinterest having such advanced algorithms.

However, the author's story does add a nice theme and flow, and also makes this a nice gift. The recipes definitely are the best part in my opinion!

Overall, it's a good effort in a difficult market.

There is so much to do in this book, it would make a wonderful edition to anyone's holiday craft section on your bookshelf.

In chapter one, it's devoted to decorating for Christmas. There is a great assortment of projects in this chapter. From making white clay ornaments to upcycled sock nisser, which is another word for gnomes.

The second chapter is filled with recipes for edible gifts. I want to make all of these recipes. All the pictures make them look very yummy. Homemade marzipan, honeycomb, or fudge brownies in a jar. Or if you want to get real fancy, try making some Brunkager, which are brown cookies! YUM.

The third chapter is all about quick and easy crafts. The crafts rely on using some materials already around the house, such as an old sweater. The Christmas tree body scrub intrigues me quite a bit.

In the fourth chapter, another section devoted to Christmas comfort food! What I like about this chapter is the traditional name of these dishes is used. But in parenthesis, a more common name is used. Such as Frikadeller, is meatballs. Or Glogg, which is mulled wine.

The fifth and final chapter is called Family Fun. There are three games for the family to learn and enjoy over the holiday season.

At the end of the book, there is a section that gives you templates when necessary for the activities and crafts.

I highly recommend this charming book!

Thank you #NetGalley and #Pen&Sword for letting me read and review #CraftYourOwnCosyScandiChristmas ebook.

So much tradition packed in one book! I really appreciated the author’s personal stories about the decorations, crafts, games and food and thought her tips (based on her own trials and errors) were not only extremely helpful but also just plain entertaining! The food section was my favorite and I want to try several of the recipes, but I do wish there had been a little vocabulary lesson for American readers because I’m not quite sure the ingredient I think she is referring to is actually what is needed for the recipe. The crafts were whimsical and lovely and I especially liked learning about the traditions and games played at Christmas time. I was hoping for a few nods to other Scandinavian traditions, but after reading about the author it makes sense that the focus was on Danish culture. An entertaining and helpful guide to creating a Hygge holiday!

Thank you to NetGalley and Pen & Sword Publishing for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Wow I love this book. It has a great mix of craft, decorations, recipes, gifts and games. All with that wonderful Scandi look. Plenty of pictures and good descriptions as to how to complete the various projects. I shall be buying this book as gifts once it is published in paper print.

This was one that I wish I could have had an actual copy off. So many cute little projects, my teen and I were absolutely engrossed in this and both loved it. Would have been fun to blog about this as we do some projects but sadly with digital copies that is a bit tricky to do.

I would highly recommend this, if you love Christmas and enjoy crafting as a family. Will review on Instagram and my blog more towards the publication date.

A lovely book that makes me feel excited for Christmas especially the cosy happy side this book inspires. I love Christmas but the actual day is always a let down, I prefer the actual build up to it. There was lots of things in this book I am so looking forward to be doing in my own house this year!

Many thanks to Netgalley for the FREE ARC in return for my honest review.

Scandinavia is the origin of many Yule traditions. Both food and crafts are shared in Craft Your Own Cosy Scandi Christmas by Becci Coombes. These are crafts and dishes you can prepare as a family to begin new Christmas traditions or to give as gifts. I plan on making the woven paper hearts to hang on my tree and the clay ornaments and garland. The gorgeous wreath with paper folded stars and LED lights is also a favorite. I plan to rework it for my front door! I hope to make many of these items with my niece and nephew this year.

I received an advance digital copy of this book to review, and it is a UK publications. I hope it will be published here in the US soon. I would like a copy for myself and one to gift my sister’s family. .
