Slaying vampires and dealing with the supernatural never ends when you live in Sunnydale. But when mysteriously the hellmouth seems to be pulling more and more supernatural beings to it, Frankie and Scooby gang are put to the test. Can they defeat old rivals and new before they access the hellmouth bringing forth a greater evil. More importantly can they finally figure out what happened to the original slayers?
I really enjoy this series. Just like the last one this is perfect continuation of a world that many of us grew up loving. I truly hope that this could lead to maybe a revival of the show. If not having the world of Buffy back even in book format is just so much fun. I love Frankie. This book does a great job showing how much she loves and depends on those around her to help her get through all the crazy that seems drawn to Sunnydale. I can’t wait to see what happens to her and the Scooby gang next.

Thank you so much to Disney Publishing Worldwide and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this title.

One Girl in All the World is the second installment in author Kendare Blake's In Every Generation series. 16 year old Frankie Rosenberg, daughter of the infamous Willow, the witch who almost destroyed the world, is the first witch-slayer in history thanks to the devastating events that happened in Halifax prior to the first installment. Frankie and her new "Scooby Gang," Hailey Larsson, sister of the slayer Vi Larsson, Sigmund, a sage demon, Jake, born werewolf, plus Willow, Spike, and Oz, are trying to not only train Frankie into what it means to be a slayer, but to protect the school and population of New Sunnydale.

Meanwhile, thanks to Dawn and Xavier, the investigation into what happened in Halifax is still ongoing and the mystery is getting deeper and deeper, as well as who was responsible for attacking Buffy and her fellow slayers. On a kind of goofy moment, it appears as though Frankie is doing a sort of census to see where certain supernaturals are coming from before slaying them. But the tip of the iceberg is straight ahead. Something has reawakened the Hellmouth―and is calling old friends home. Someone is performing demon magic in the shadows, opening portals between dimensions.

And a demon oracle warns Frankie of a new evil on its way: the Darkness. Pushing the envelope just a little bit more, Vi Larsson returns, but is that a good thing, or a bad thing? Vi’s return not only throws Frankie and Hailey’s budding friendship into flux, but it perhaps leads to answers as to what readers need to know about the missing slayers. We also have a surprise arrival of almost all enemies that Buffy and her gang once faced when she first became the slayer thanks to an intentional play by another enemy who wants to unleash hell on New Sunnydale.

Plus? The one plus in all of this is that Grimloch has returned to town and seems to have become Frankie's guardian. Grim also would love to know what happened in Nova Scotia since the slayer he loved is also missing. If you are a fan of the show, you will probably remember all of them. Then there is the arrival of Sarafina, mother of Sigmund, who also has a connection to Willow. Sorry, not Sorry, but I’m not a big fan of Grim as love interest. There’s something about his age and previous relationship with an older slayer that makes his interest in Frankie less believable and a bit creep and if Grim finds his missing slayer, what's going to happen?

I would love to continue this series, especially since we are getting closer to the answers as to whether or not the author will stab Buffy in the back, or will she make a surprise appearance. This may or may not be a mild spoiler, I really like this development in the mystery of who targeted the slayers in Halifax. It makes a lot of sense in the context of the series mythology. Buffy has always been a show that talks about power corrupting.

As a child of the 90s, and an avid (rabid?) Buffy fan, I am loving this series by Kendare Blake. My only qualm with identifying it as Young Adult is that many of these young adults will not be familiar with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Yet, the 90s are having a moment, so it might be right up Gen Z and Gen Alpha's alley...

Gosh do I love this series. Kendare Blake continues to completely nail the tone of the original "Buffy" series and its characters, the new characters like Frankie, Jake, Hailey, and Sigmund fit in with old favorites like Willow, Oz, and Spike. The humor and heart of the source material is there, and she also hits the right beats of broader problems that Frankie and her friends are facing that expand further than the building tension of a growing demon infestation in the Hellmouth. Frankie has a lot of pressure as the only Slayer available at the moment, and while her friends are supportive and trying to help her, they have their own (very relatable) problems they are also trying to contend with, be it parental expectations that are hard to meet, burgeoning feelings for friends, or torn loyalties between family and friends. And on top of all that, which Blake pulls of very well, we also have great explorations and expansions of the characters we love from the show. I was especially happy with how Blake is showing the stresses that Willow and Spike have been facing, as they are pretty much the new Joyce and Giles, and are having to deal with the wish to keep the world safe (And to help a still MIA Buffy), and to worry about Frankie getting hurt or even killed. On top of that there are worries about WIllow's magical wielding, and Spike's deep fears about Buffy never coming back. I loved all of it. THe old and the new come together perfectly.

ONE GIRL IN ALL THE WORLD is a great continuation of a series that is everything I wanted in continuing BUFFY stories. I can't wait to see what the final installation brings.

Still really enjoying this Buffy sequel series. Die-hard fans of the show and comics will get the most out of it. Honestly, I don’t know if there’s any other audience for it. I can’t imagine a Buffy newcomer starting where Frankie’s story begins, but I suppose there must be some who decided to start their Buffy journey with this series. I don’t recommend doing it that way as there are tons of spoilers, besides all the fun references to the show you won’t understand.
Blake has a strong sense of the original Scoobies, the original humor and vibe of the show. She’s written a good cast of next generation slayer and Scoobies, and I’m very glad she uses a structure similar a season of the show, in which each book works as an episode that solves a smaller problem and doesn’t end on a dang cliffhanger. I like Frankie’s combination of witch and slayer skills and her hapless but effective fighting style. I also like that this group of teens, while they certainly have some relationship angst, don’t let it take over when lives are at stake.
I’m not a big fan of Grim as love interest. There’s something about his age and previous relationship with an older slayer that makes his interest in Frankie less believable and a bit creepy.
The endless parade of battles went a bit long, but I did appreciate seeing all the familiar baddies from the show.
Fans of Buffy: this is a great spin-off and should not be missed.
People who have never watched the show: don’t read these until you’ve watched all 7 seasons of the show.

Thank you to NetGalley and Disney Publishing Worldwide for providing a copy of this eARC for review.

I was most definitely a Buffy fan. And I still regularly rewatch the series. This hit of nostalgia is phenomenal. The author makes so many references that you know they are familiar with the show (VERY familiar), and it's so fun to see the Scoobies all grown up.

With this next generation of Scoobies, we get to see them grow and mature. Their worries about friendships, relationships, and the potential of these falling apart are relatable and heartwarming. The characters are teenagers (clearly), and their worries and pain reflect that. Just as it was in the show, their are moments of frivolous childhood mixed in with saving the world. I wish more people were reading this series, especially the Buffy Nostalgia Club.

Thanks to NetGalley for this eARC. 3.5 ⭐️ rounded up.

Happy to be back in New Sunnydale! I like where the story is going and that we get a clearer picture of the Big Bad(s) and their evil plots. However, I was hoping for more character development for the new Scoobies in this book. At times, I found myself almost finding Frankie annoying because she comes off as much younger and (somehow) more impulsive than Buffy was at her age. Some of these solutions/plans she comes up with are so over-the-top (her first thought upon finding out the Darkness want the scythe is to just destroy it?), that it’s hard to imagine the OG Scoobies going along with it. I’m rooting for Frankie and look forward to seeing her grow as a slayer and leas for of the Scoobies.

One Girl in All the World picks up where we left off with Frankie and the Scoobies in New Sunnydale. It has more of the witty banter we all know, love, and expect from anything set in the Buffyverse. It has some seemingly genuine bi representation; I only say seemingly because it's a little too soon to tell, but I love where it's going so far! There were some new baddies to fight and some of the OG Scoobies "greatest hits" make an appearance as well! This was yet another wonderful, YA trip into nostalgia city, and I loved it. There were some grammar, formatting, and punctuation errors, but it's not losing any points since my copy is a digital ARC and thus is not in its final form. This was a solid 4 star read, and I am eagerly anticipating the next book! Thanks again, Kendare, for working your witty magic on Scoobies 2, Electric Boogaloo. I loved it.

Thanks to NetGalley, Disney Publishing Worldwide, and Kendare Blake for this eARC.

Fun for fans of the Buffyverse. Has a ton of recalls to the movie and was a quick read. Enjoyed the new characters, and appreciated how they related to the old cast

One Girl in All The World is another strong addition to the buffyverse by Kendare Blake - It really offers a lot to fans of the original series and show while giving us interesting stories about Willow. I cannot wait to continue to see the story grow!

I really like this installment in the Buffyverse! It feels like a continuation of the show and Kendare Blake gets the characters right. There have been several young adult Buffy series and this is by far the best one out there.

Please make this into a TV series ASAP!! The world needs more of the Buffyverse. I can’t wait for the next book!

Next in a series to Kendare Blake’s great next gen Buffy kickoff. A can’t miss combination of author & universe. Kendare’s snark and eye for horror is made for Buffy & she makes me care just as much for the new characters as old favorites.

I had requested the first book in this trilogy last year after having heard about it on social media last year. In Every Generation was easily one of my favorite books of last year. It had the snappy dialogue of the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series and the characters that were in both the book and the show seemed pretty true to themselves which is hard to do.

So of course I requested One Girl in All the World as soon as I saw it was available. And it didn't even take me six months or a year to get to it.

Overall my impression of the sequel was pretty good. The snappy dialogue was still though I did have some issues with some things. Here are some thoughts:
* Although I did really enjoy this it wasn't quite as good as the first book in the series. I think because I didn't
love the reveal of who the "villains" responsible for the attack on the Slayers turned out to be. It felt a little off.
Frankie did point it out how she felt about it as well and I agree with her thoughts on it.
* It felt like there was a lot going on in this book. I almost wish there was less Slaying and more quipping and
relationship stuff. I think?
* I both liked and didn't like the return of some of the old baddies. It was like a fun little nod to the original
series but then they were all just taken care of so quickly that it felt kind of cheap.
* Loved the mentions of Joyce and Giles!
* Made me feel old. Back in the day the whole Buffy dating very old monsters was so hawt. When Frankie
starts kissing a very old monster it made me go all "no you don't young lady."
* I liked that we were given enough information about the ultimate plan without it having resolved since
obviously that was meant to start in book one and not be finished until the end of the series.

So overall I really enjoyed it and am excited to see how the trilogy wraps up.

I feel like I needed to be fully caught up on the various Buffy comics to get the most out of this. I am not, so there were parts of the narrative that I kept needing to check the wiki to understand. Frankie is a fun character who is well drafted. Her voice is clear. The voices of the adults, pulled right from Buffy are less so, but that may be me missing character and tonal changes from the comics. All told, I think the characters in this latest generation of Scoobies are strong enough to stand on their own, and the story is actually slowed down by the call backs. I feel odd saying that, because I adore a good call back, I was in this for them. But I do wish we were getting a Slayer squad just a bit more removed from that baggage, because when they are on their own, they are pretty darn great.

Frankie and the scoobies are back! And the old scoobies are seeing things from Giles perspective. Its a mesh of demon problems and learning how to deal with danger on a while new level for everyone.

I enjoyed seeing the continuous of the Buffy universe. I wasn't a big fan of the original series but I did enjoy some of the show and one of my favorite characters was Willow and these stories are about her daughter. I am enjoying this series and can't wait for the next book.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book. I did feel like it got slow in places and felt like the villain wasn’t as strong as it could’ve been. Overall, this was a good read.

I liked this one but at the same time it was lacking something. I still like Frankie though. Her friends were great as always but honestly the 'villain' of the book wasn't as good as the last one. It was kind of disappointing honestly.
