'Augland' by Erin Carrougher is a sci-fi YA dystopian novel with a great premise but lacks in execution. The main character was hard to connect with and the supporting cast was there.

I normally love dystopian fiction, but maybe I'm burnt out, or maybe it was just bad timing, but this was a DNF for me about 30% in. I couldn't connect with the characters or the world that Carrougher was building. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher. All opinions my own.

Not as compelling as I thought it would be. Some characters felt a little flat. I would maybe keep it in my classroom library for independent reading.

This book absolutely sucked me in - what a page turner! A dystopian adventure, it has fantastic world building and character development. I am a huge fan of Seattle, so that added element was a lot of fun!

A unique, dystopian read, showing what happens when technology is made to be the whole point of the world.

I enjoyed the uniqueness of this title, and our main characters. It was very simple and easy to read, with real world elements wound into the futuristic world Carrougher has created.

I did find the overlap in points of view to be pointless and frustrating. I can see what the author was trying to do, to give the reader as much information as possible, but for me, it didn't work.

A good read.

I am not going to be writing a lengthy review simply because I don’t have a lot to say about this book. It was a bit underwhelming, to be honest. The main character Ashton seems to be quite naïve considering there has been war and destruction outside of the safety of the Augland 54 dome. She keeps sticking her neck out and speaking up about injustices, even though there is a constant threat of retaliation from security forces. Although…the security seems really inept, I mean, they are supposedly highly trained and they can’t catch her for trying.

Thank you to NetGalley & Smith Publicity for this advance reader copy. All opinions are my own.

This book is set in an alternative world they have forbidden romance people going missing and lots of intrigue. Not to mention the great battle scenes that they practice to perform for the Uber rich. I love this book in highly recommend it if you love alternate universe is where class lines are definitely drawn then you really need to read this book. I received it from NetGalley and a publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book. This book started out good but at times was hard to get into; some parts seemed to drag. This is a Dystopian read and it was cool to read about the various areas in Augland.

I thought that this was an interesting addition to the many young adult dystopian novels that are out there. I had a bit of hard time getting into it at first, but overall I enjoyed it.

This novel is set in a dystopia where rich people can spend their lives in suits enacting various fantasies. It's an idea similar to Westworld only the settings are more varied and the workers are human.

I liked the glimpses of the Augland settings. From Venus to Victorian - I could see how people would want to explore them. I didn't get super invested in the main character and didn't really love any of the side characters, but I'm sure others will.

Overall it was an interesting read!

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

While the idea behind the book was interesting, I found the main character to be boring and irritating.

Its very much a young adult version of the hit HBO series Westworld but with way less sex and robots. Which in my opinion works better.

After her sister is taken, ashton finds she will do anything to track her down. She knows augland is hiding violent secrets and she does what she can to bring them into the light of day. This book was very good and nicely paced.

Augland by Erin Carrougher While the premise was interesting, I found it hard to get into the dystopia world of the Suits. Ashton is a well-developed character and sympathetic. This not my usual reading genre. I imagine that fans of this type of novel will find it quite entertaining.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.
