A riveting novel that captured my attention and didn't let go. A political thriller that shows the lengths people are willing to go to get what they want.

An interesting story of 3 women’s lives, their different backgrounds and how their loves intersect and overlap. Does the privilege of one help the other and does that mean their accomplishments are null and void without them?

I thought this book sounded intriguing and the premise really interested me, and it didn't disappoint. I had visions in my mind of the people that the characters had been based on and that just made it more interesting for me. I really enjoyed it.

I didn’t want to put this book down for even a moment. This superbly written story stayed with me long after I had turned the last page… I will read again and again I’m sure.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Black Rose Writing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I found this to be an interesting read, convoluted. What is the truth? What is real? It has a lot of politics. This was a different type read for me. Friendship, using each other?? who knows. I have found that we truly never know anyone. Your best friend, the man you marry-they are never really who you think. People play roles and pretend and so who knows what they are really like. 4 stars Well worth a read.

Aubrey Marina and Elise we’re all college students at Columbia they met when Aubrey in Marina we’re in the library talking about meeting the student body president thin back and getting his help to put A professor who was into sexual misconduct with the co-Ed‘s. Elise being on the school paper and their top reporter paid close attention and she would eventually investigate the story that helped bring other victims forward. Her and Aubrey and Marina would all become good friends Marina‘s mom is Eleanor Drake a senator from New York and marinas dad is Adrian Drake A shady Republican who is the man of the people he says what he wants and is totally politically incorrect edit all times. Soon Elise is working for Eleanor‘s campaign where she becomes a superstar and her and Finn becomes a thing she even moved in to his apartment and the Drake Towers. She finds out that Marina and Aubrey targeted her to overhear them into thin is dating marina with everything spinning out of control for a lease she decides to move back to Pennsylvania and work for Redings town mayor this is where her star will really shine and she will go viral and keep that momentum all the way to Washington DC as a junior council member. I don’t want to give everything away just know Aubrey is the Chelsea Clinton of the book and marina is the Ivanka Trump and that would make Finn Beck The Jared Kushner of the group. At least I imagine it’s just a made-up character. Either way I really and truly enjoyed the book I thought the first half was better than the latter half English the ending would’ve been a bit bigger. I don’t want to say white as to give anything away I was really and totally engaged but the closer it got to the second half I found myself zoning out but then when she broke her arm I was back in so it is so worth reading I do definitely recommend this book especially if you’re a fan of politics. I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

Thank you #NetGalley for providing me an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed the book and recommend it to those who enjoy novels with a political story line. I was rooting for the protagonist, Elyse, as she progressed from a Columbia undergraduate to a young political figure. Yes, she made some "bad/questionable" decisions along the way; but, her actions were always framed within the context of the internal and external pressures she faced as she navigated young adulthood and pursued her goals. As I read, it was hard not to make comparisons to political figures and "powerful" families in the U.S. Once I read the author's notes at the end of the book, it became clear that the characters were inspired by such figures. This did not take away from my enjoyment of the book as it actually made the actions of the characters more believable. Overall, I enjoyed the tensions between the characters, as well as the family drama that drove much of the decisions and actions of the characters. I could see, however, that some may not like the book, particularly those who are more right-leaning on the political spectrum as Elyse is a very progressive character; however, faults were evident in characters on both sides of the political spectrum.

Thank you to #NetGalley for letting me read an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
Elyse, a Columbia student and aspiring journalist, is adopted by two privileged daughters of celebrities (Marina and Aubrey, respectively Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton stand-ins) and the handsome student body president she falls for. We watch as she builds a future based on these new connections with the connected, and see it play out after the group has graduated. When things begin to go less smoothly, and Elyse begins to separate from the group, the plot picks up, especially as she enters the political realm (with AOC energy). “American Wife” meets “Gossip Girl.”

Thank you very much for the privilege and opportunity to read/review this book. Full review to follow both here and on the blog. I love academic books and this really looks interesting. I love how the girls from different backgrounds intertwine and how it comes together to spin this great juicy story. Would make a perfect book club read as well as a good movie or miniseries
