This was another fun addition to the Finlay Donovan series! I found this book super bingeable just like the rest of the series so far. I love the refreshing mysteries and the funny plotlines of each book. The Citizens’ Police Academy was a unique setting for this book’s mysteries, which were just as entertaining as the other two books. Book 3 also offered more romance than the first two, which had me dying for more. Are you Team Nick or Team Julian? I’m Team Nick all the way. The plot twist at the end was completely unexpected – I thought I knew the answer then at the last minute, I learned I was totally wrong. This book ends with a cliffhanger like the other books in the series have so far and I’m excited to jump into the next book to see what happens.
Recommend?
Would I recommend this? Yes! I’m still highly recommending this series after finishing the third book. This book and the series are a great palette cleanser series to read in between more intense books. This series isn’t full of realistic plots and mysteries, which is what makes them so much fun to read – you truly get to escape for a little bit while reading.

Y’all this is quickly becoming a favorite series. All the books are so strong. Not fast thrillers like Frieda McFadden- whom I also love, but a bit slower and more realistic. It’s a slow burn romantically and nothing explicit. I love the balance of humor, suspense, conflict and mystery. 4 ⭐️ 1 🌶️

Thank you netgalley for this copy of Finlay Donovan jumps the gun. Finlay Donovan is a book series that cannot be read and appreciated as stand alone novels. Finlay has gotten herself in a mess with some criminals and she is on the hunt to uncover the identity of “easy clean” or else. This is a well written series with funny banter in crazy situations. Four stars.

The hijinks continue in the third book, as Finlay and Vero continue to make questionable decisions and get insanely lucky. You really do need to read the first two books to understand this one as the series is written as one big book. Still, Finlay and Vero continue in fine slapstick form and reaping the reward. Light, casual reading which doesn't take itself too seriously.

I'm enjoying this series. The first time I picked up the first book, right after it came out, I struggled with it. I don't know if it was just the wrong time or what, but I could not connect with the characters. I came back to the series a month or so ago and am pleased to admit that I am enjoying the series immensely. It is not going to change my life or make me a better person. I'm not learning anything. But what I am having is a good time, and that is a worthwhile end in itself!
I'm enjoying watching the characters progress. I like that each book has a storyline of its own but also on itself not only in character development but in the larger plot elements that carry from book to book. I'm glad I am reading them at a time when multiple titles in the series are all available at once, because I think that has enhanced my reading enjoyment especially in regard to those longer developing story lines.

Finlay's crazy antics continue as she and Vero have to figure out how to disentangle themselves from the Russian mob. While trying to save ex-husband Steven's life (for the sake of her kids), Finlay and Vero "borrowed" a pricey Aston Martin from the mob. After it was seriously damaged in an unfortunate incident, the car was gifted to Finlay by dangerous mob boss Feliks. Now she owes him and he's looking for payback. Finlay's new assignment is to find "Easy Clean" - a contract killer who just may be a cop. Finlay and Vero attend a citizen's police academy run by hot cop Nick to try to solve this mystery and get out from under being indebted to Feliks. Once again, they get themselves into some completely hilarious, over-the-top situations that they have to figure a way out of. This was perfect light, vacation reading and I enjoyed it. I look forward to continuing this series. Thanks to #netgalley and #minotaurbooks for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Elle Cosimano you have done it again! Finlay continues to be laugh out loud funny while also being a complete B.A. I never ever want this series to end!! I also love the romance sideplot we have going on here...

This is a continuation of a story I already enjoy, with characters I am growing to love. Even though she is just a writer, Finlay has gotten involved with the Russian mob and now she and her friend/nanny/partner have to solve a mystery to stay ahead. There's a citizens' police academy, the "will they/won't they" romance, and the chaos that always follows Finlay and Vera. The stories are kind of silly but fun, and I hope there are lots more. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.

This was my favorite in the series so far. High stakes and hilarious. So good! Can’t wait to read the next in the series.

This series is jumping the shark a bit with stolen police cars and such, but I’m still invested- probably because I’m reading them rapid fire. I imagine if I took a break I’d float back to reality and roll my eyes. 🤷🏻♀️
I liked the citizens police academy angle of this one- feel like I actually learn a lot from these books and I commend the author’s research. Some of the mob stuff just seems too far-fetched and convenient for me, though. I can suspend my disbelief to keep chugging through these, but I can see where some people have fallen off the hype of the series.

I have been wanting to read this series and I’m so glad I did! Each Finlay Donovan book is full of shenanigans and humor with a mystery that keeps you guessing along the way. Finley and Vero are back and the antics don’t stop.
I hope they never stop making this series! Many thanks to the author, St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Too good! The third Finlay Donovan book delivered everything I wanted—fun, chaos, and plenty of twists. I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait for the next installment!

Easy fun read a little on the fluffy side but good escapism
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me read and review the book

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun was probably my least favorite of the series so far. The storyline wasn’t as good as the first two books. I felt like the middle of the book was drawn out more than it needed to be. You still get the fun aspect of Vero and Finlay trying to solve mysteries. This series has been very entertaining to say the least. The author was able to draw me back in towards the end of the book. Each book in the series has had a twist where you least expect it.

This one was fun. I'm looking forward to the next one. Thank you to NetGalley for sharing this ebook with me.

Book three is the Finlay Donovan Series had me laughing and enjoying reading. Elle Cosimano, author, wrote an easy-to-read book that will keep the reader entertained. If you are looking for a book that does not require you to keep track of a ton of characters, the storyline flows quickly, and guaranteed entertainment, this is the book (or series) for you.
Finlay has an interesting nanny, Veronica, that I cannot wait to learn more about. Her relationship with her ex, Steven, is unique. He wants her back, she can not trust him. Nick, the hot cop, is hot for her but she is not sure getting involved with a cop is a good idea with her background. In short, Finlay’s life is hot mess and everyone around her gets pulled into her mess.
I cannot wait to read book 3.5, a short story that tell’s more of Veronica’s history.

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is the third book in the Finlay Donovan series, but it’s my least favorite so far. I didn’t enjoy the storyline as much as I did the first two. After wrecking a luxury car while saving her ex-husband, Finlay and Vero (her nanny), end up in debt to the Russian mob. Mob boss Feliks orders Finlay to track down a contract killer
To get out of this mess, Finlay and Vero join a citizen’s police academy, where they go through training. As they look for the killer, they must also avoid mobsters and unravel Vero’s secret past.

Finlay is at it again, this time at police academy, where she and Vero go to escape mob boss Viktor and Vero's debt to another shady character. At the academy, civilians are offered a bootcamp to learn what it's like in the force. At the head of the program is Finlay's love interest, Nick, and their relationship continues to blossom despite murders, fires, shootouts and jealous husbands.
Fun, as expected with this series. I love the dynamic that grows between Finlay and Vero.
For those of you looking for a fast-paced, suspenseful adventure with newly divorced mom of two little ones Finlay Donovan, you're in the right place.
I read this book for free thanks to a Minotaur and NetGalley promotion for the newest Finlay Donovan coming out in March 2025. I am not compensated for my review.

Okaaaay Finn, you did it again! Lol. This series is so much fun following Finlay. I loved the first two books and this one actually had my favorite ending so far. This series is so much fun and I’m so glad to see that the third did not stray from that!

She does it again! The third Finlay Donovan book was such a great time! once the action starts, it DOES NOT STOP. I loved how Finlay really grew in this book and stood up for herself more, especially with Steven. Her and Vero’s banter was just as funny as ever and I’m still completely in love with their friendship. I LOVED getting to see more of Mrs. Haggerty because that old broad was a hoot! I did have a little bit of trouble keeping some of the new characters straight at first, mostly the cops, but I liked that storyline a ton once I got into the swing of things. One thing that did bother me was the *wink wink nudge nudge* behavior of the cops when it came to Finlay and Nick. Sometimes it was cute and funny, but other times it felt really awkward and unprofessional. Also, Parker INFURIATED me during the mock trial, but I’m pretty sure she was supposed to. Overall though, such a great story with lots of humor, action, some romance and quite the last minute twist! I can’t wait to read the next two!
