This installment in one of the best new series to come out is even better than the last two; I didn’t think that was possible. Absolutely hysterical moments that had me literally laughing out loud, and this book is actually extremely suspenseful as well. Just a perfect combo for a perfect read! Finlay feels like an old friend at this point.

Thanks for the “read now” option. I hope the series finds new readers!

Took a while for me to get into this one because it's been almost two years since I read Finlay Donovan, so there was a lot I didn't remember. It took so time for this one to really get going and serve as its own book, but once the ball was rolling, it was a grand old time. All that is to say: Finlay and Vero, I missed y'all.

Finlay Donovan is at it again, and I couldn’t love her more! Between accidentally wrecking a luxury car, getting tangled with the Russian mob, and joining a citizen’s police academy, she somehow juggles it all—while still making me laugh out loud at every turn.

This book was just as fantastic as the first in the series, maybe even better than the second. I adored Nick in this one—his character development and deeper role in the story were exactly what I was hoping for. And Vero was an absolute perfection. She’s wild, unpredictable, and had me in stitches with her antics. The dynamic between her and Finlay is the heart of the series, and it’s as strong as ever here.

I loved the police academy setting. It gave the story a fresh twist with new challenges and hilarious moments while driving the mystery forward. The mix of suspense, action, humor, and romance is spot-on. And that ending? A total cliff-hanger—I’m already dying for the next book!

If you’ve read the first two, you’re going to love this one. If not, start with book one and enjoy the ride! Highly recommend for anyone who loves clever, funny mysteries with a side of chaos.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Man Elle can do no wrong with this series! Just love it. Face paced and fun! Love the characters. Can't wait to read the rest in the series.

Finlay and Vero are back, and let me tell you, they seriously cannot stay out of trouble. From the first page, I was like, how do they even get themselves into these situations? Russian mobsters, sketchy deals, and a citizen's police academy?? It's giving total chaos in the best way.

The antics? Totally over-the-top, but that's why we love these two, right? I mean, what even is a boring day for Finlay and Vero? The camp scenes were chef's kiss hilarious, and yes, there’s some serious sleuthing mixed with their usual shenanigans. Also, the little sprinkle of romance? Let’s just say the “hot cop” doesn’t disappoint. 😉

That said, it wasn't my absolute fave in the series. Some parts felt a teensy bit like filler, and I kind of missed the spark from earlier books. But honestly, it’s still SO fun and perfect if you’re in the mood for something light and laugh-out-loud funny.

Big thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Book 3 in the series is just as madcap as books 1 and 2. Vero and Finlay are trying to discover who "EasyClean" is and they are given an ultimatum by Feliks, a Russian mob boss.
Vero and Finlay continue to look for EasyClean while trying not to let Nick, the "hot cop" know what is happening. No cop is above suspicion
I love Finlay and all her escapades. They are more outlandish in each book, but always fun! Looking forward to the next adventure!

well it’s for the fans of Finlay. 3rd book in what we can know definitely call a series and it’s clear there will be more. If you liked first two books, you will like this one, too. I adore the humor :)

This series just keeps getting funnier and funnier. I hope she never stops writing about Finlay and her crazy adventures! If you want a good book, that’s funny and clean, this is a book for you!

Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC.

Single mom and author Finlay Donovan's last book's escapades left her indebted to the Russian mob... who's boss has requested Finlay and Vero find the real contract killer.
Meanwhile, Det. Nick is running a police academy in which Finlay and Vero take their lessons to heart to use skills to carry out Feliks, the mob boss's plan/request.
I'm loving the continued relationship/situationship between Finlay and Detective Nick, and these mysteries are always so outlandish and actually funny to me while still being edge-of-seat and page-turny exciting!

2.75/5 rounded up.

I feel like this series is starting to go downhill. I felt like nothing really happened in this book and I found myself bored quite often because of that.

Finlay ends up with a stolen luxury car in this book and delves more into what's going on with the detectives and police. But that is about it for this one.

Luckily these books are super easy and quick reads.

Honestly, I feel like this series does not have to be this long. And even though the books are short, I think each story could actually be a novella or combine them all into one regular-length book. This story is just starting to drag at this point. It's feeling like there is quite a lot of filler.

I will read the next book to see if this is just a one-off slow book, but I am worried.

Thanks to NetGalley for the e-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review! My Goodreads review is up and my TikTok (Zoe_Lipman) review will be up at the end of the month with my monthly reading wrap-up.

Book #3 in the Finlay Donovan series.

This book gives answers that book 1 and 2 have left us with. It ties up some loose ends nicely. While this book seems to have a bunch of side stories going on, it keeps the quirky and laugh out loud funny humor to it. This is by far my favorite book series!

This book was just as entertaining as the previous - Finlay & Vero attend police academy. 👮
Finlay finds herself even deeper in the Russian mob.
Finlay a&Nick (AKA hot cop) romance heats up & Finlay’s ultra nosy neighbor keeps her on her toes! 👀
I can’t wait to read the next books in this series!
Huge thanks to netgalley @ elle & publisher for this ebook!!!

Finlay and Vero go to police academy. Elle could have written a whole book on this one part, it was hilarious.
Finlay finds herself even deeper in the Russian mob, unsure how to set herself free when she keeps accidently helping them.
Finlay and Nick (hot cop’s) romance heats up and Finlay’s nosy neighbor keeps her on her toes!

Finlay continues her bad luck with continued involvement in the crime world. It’s refreshing to see continued relationship between friends (Vero annd Finlay) and one that evolves and showcases trust, humor, and vulnerability.

I loved the change in scenery and added level of stress from this being set at a police academy during training activities. Under the guise of researching for her book, Finlay gets first hand experience for her career as an author and unwanted criminal career.

How many times can a character get tangled up in a series of crimes and murders and still get away with it? At this point the books are starting to blend together, there’s some character development but we are still in the dark with a lot of it, or it’s just unexplained (especially with Vero). I liked the change of setting with the police academy and the development of Finlays relationship with Nick the cop. The plot is just as outrageous and over the top as the rest of the books and we end on a real cliffhanger so I will definitely be continuing the series

I definitely wasn’t as engrossed with this book as I was with the first two, but oh my goodness did I eat it up still!!! As a cop-type person, this one gave me all the best academy flashbacks & fun feelings.

That being said, my heart is literally in shambles over anticipating the fallout of the ending on the ~guilty person~ and Finlays ~relationship~ (guys I’m trying really hard to be spoiler free in this review)

Immediately starting Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice!!!!!

I absolutely adored this book. As a recently single mom myself when I picked up the first book in the series (Finlay Donovan is Killing It), Finlay was immediately relatable. Her story is fun and amusing and makes me thankful that I've never been accidently confused for a contract killer! This has become one of my favorite series!

The third Finlay installment picks up a few months after the second ends - Thanks to some pressure from Feliks from behind bars, Finlay and Vero think it's a good idea to join in on the week-long citizen's police academy so they can try and figure out who this EZ Clean is before Feliks does. It's a good idea, right??
Personally, I'm a little on the fence about this one! There were great laugh-out-loud moments that you've come to except with the Finlay books, but the chaos and coincidences might be becoming too much for me to see how the rest of this plays out? There were a lot of twists in this one, the writing made you distrust everyone except Hot Cop Nick (and the writing just really wanted me to yell at Finlay to make up her mind and stop leading him on!).
This third book ends on a bit of a cliff hanger, so I'll have some time to decide if my need to find out what happens next outweighs the chaos that I don't love before adding Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice to the TBR!
