Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun by Elle Cosimano is a highly entertaining mystery thriller with a touch of humor and heart. The book follows Finlay, a single mother and author, who finds herself indebted to the Russian mob after accidentally destroying a luxury car while trying to save her ex-husband's life. To repay her debt, she is tasked with finding a contract killer before the police do.
The plot is fast-paced and full of unexpected twists and turns that keep the reader on edge. The characters are well-developed and likable, especially Finlay and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero. Their dynamic is hilarious and heartwarming, and their friendship is the heart of the story.
Overall, Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is an excellent addition to the Finlay Donovan series, and I highly recommend it to fans of mystery thrillers and humor. Elle Cosimano has delivered yet another captivating and enjoyable read.

She's baaaaaack! Our favorite armature sleuth is back for round three. I've listened to all of the books in the series on audio which I highly recommend. What was great about the third book is that is mixed it up. If you felt like books 1 and 2 were too similar, this installment is a refreshing take.

Binged this entire series in a week and I regret not savoring it because it was a 5/5 for me! Finlay was SO relatable and likeable! I found myself laughing-out-loud 80% of the book! The situations she continues to get herself in is hilarious! Definitely recommend this one & cannot wait for the series to continue!!!

I love Finlay and Vero and the crazy adventures they go on. I don’t even remember why I read the first book in this series, probably because it was all over Bookstagram and I wanted to see what the hype was about. But I am so glad I did. This series is so funny and this third one might be one of my faves. Finlay is just such a likable character and so is Vero. Honestly, they are all so dang relatable.
In Jumps the Gun Finlay and Vero are still tied to the crazy mob boss Feliks but they have more to deal with. Finlay is supposed to find and kill someone for Feliks, which she refuses to do. Her and Vero have a feeling who this man might be and want to at least confront him because he is pretending to be a cop.
In the perfect situation, Fin and Vero end up at a police training academy where they learn all the police procedures and how to solve a crime. They go so they can get close to the cops and sniff out who the traitor is. During all this we get to see a lot of Nick and a few blasts from the past.
I had so much fun reading this book and I CANNOT wait to read the next installment!!!
If you loved the first 2 books in the Finlay Donovan series I definitely recommend Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun! I gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I am a previous fan of Finlay Donovan books, and this one is no different. If you're wondering if you should read this book, give the first in the series a try. If you're wondering if this series is worth continuing with this one: absolutely.

Elle Cosimano has done it again with the third installment of the Finlay Donovan series. She continues to deliver laughs, suspense, a delightful friendship and a slow-burn romance. These books are a joy to read and I can't wait for book four.

It's always fun to reunite with Finlay and the gang. There are many LOL moments per the usual as Finlay and Vero get up to their usual antics. I liked how this one included all the old characters we've grown to like, but many new characters as well. I am impressed Cosimano can keep the story going without making it feel TOO far fetched and I look forward to the fourth book!

Look, I love the Finlay Donovan series. It feels like a fresher version of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum novels, which have grown a little tired, 20-some novels in. Finlay and Vero are still a great duo of unintentional assassins for hire who got mixed up with the mob, and I’ll be here for the last in the series. But this one didn’t feel like it moved the story forward very much. There is a bit of satisfaction on the romance front, for readers invested in that angle, and the hijinks are fun.
The most frustrating part, for me, though, was how heavily this depended on the storylines of the previous novels. I just did not remember the details well enough to track all the calls back to past events–and there were so many. So often as I read, I was saying to myself, “Wait, who?” or “What was that thing that happened?” or “What is it we’re trying to figure out, here?” I can appreciate the difficulties of writing a series and not doing this, but I do feel like each installment needs to stand a little better on its own.

It’s hard to share a lot without giving it away for those who aren’t to this point in the series yet. But, this was a fun read, slightly less serious than the first two. It kept me on my toes and just when you think the action is over, it pops back up again. I didn’t love the ending but I’m crossing my fingers that this won’t be the last in the series.

I’m so happy Finlay and Vero are back up to their usual highjinks again! In Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun, our favorite twosome is back in action. At the end of the last book, Finlay was trying to save her ex-husband and got involved with the Russian mob while doing so. Feliks had sent Finlay a message from prison and he wants her to find a contract killer before the police does. That’s hard enough as it is, but what if it’s a cop?
Finlay’s hot cop Nick is starting a citizen’s police academy and it’s perfect time for Finlay. She needs to figure this out for Feliks and she gets a little inspiration for her next book. She signs up for her and Vero and off we go. They take classes in firearms and forensic work while also trying to parent and stay alive!
These books always make me laugh so much. Vero and Finlay are just hysterical together. You definitely need to suspend disbelief a little, but overall they are just so enjoyable. I’m so excited we have 4 more books coming in this series!
Thank you so much to @stmartinspress and @ellecosimano for my gifted ebook.
I’m recycling my photo I made for the #finlaydonovanchilicookoff competition because this chili takes two days to make and it’s worth showing off again even if I didn’t win the competition! 🥣 🌶️

Thank you so much for this gifted copy of the 3rd Finlay story! Once again, I loved reading about Finlsy’s crazy antics. This wasn’t my fav of the three Finlay books, but I still enjoyed it.

3 stars
This was probably my least favorite book in this series, it just kind of feels like things are being strung out a little too much. It felt like a lot of fluff and not necessarily in the same vein as the other two.
There is so much over the top antics which is what this series is known for. I found it to be a little much for me. I will still move on and read book 4 because I like the characters but I hope the next one has a little more direction.

Finlay and Vera's antics continue in yet another fun installment of this series.
Every time I finish one of these books I wonder what else can these two get into yet each book takes us down another fun and adventurous journey. This one finds them entering the citizens police academy and true to this series, the comedy and antics will keep you turning page after page.
This series is a true gem and I cannot wait to see where book 4 takes us next. I don't want to spoil much, but I would definitely recommend this book and this series. If you haven't picked it up yet, definitely check it out.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Another delightful installment in the madcap adventures of Finlay Donovan and her nanny - I mean, accountant! - Vero. Finlay needs to figure out who the internet baddy EasyClean is. The one tip she has is that it is probably a cop. When the opportunity to enroll in a Police Citizen's Academy is presented, Vero jumps at the chance and drags Finlay along under the pretext of research for her next book. She has a little bit of writer's block because she just can't get the romance part right.
All the usual suspects are back including a few new ones.
This is a quick read and a good 3rd book in the series that will most likely leave you with more questions than answers - though a few are answered. The good news is that there will be a 4th book!
Thanks to the publisher for a digital ARC.

Finlay Donovan story continues. Now she wants to leave old life and move on but wants to be safe with gun. Wait past catches with her. Her husband is still quationable and hodimg something. She still gets a treats from Russian mafia. Even her hot detective is loosing trust in her as she gets herself in more trouble by beaing smatty pants

I'm always up for Finlay and Vero mischief. This did not disappoint, the amount of tight spots they manage to find themselves in is incredible, I enjoyed getting a little more background on Vero, and hope there is more in the next book. No spoilers, but I was VERY happy about some turns of events. If you are looking for a few chuckles mixed with some un-aliving, this is for you. I can't wait for the next one!

I LOVE Elle's books so much! They are hilarious, fast-paced, and engaging. The character relationship between Vero and Finaly is just the best. I love seeing what those two get into. They literally have no chill and get in the most random situations. GIVE ME MORE ELLE.

You can't go wrong with any of the Finley Donovan books, and I think this is one of the best. It's a funny take to serious subjects and you feel a connection to the characters. Love it

Finlay and Vero are back with even more mischief than before! The FINLAY DONOVAN series so fun and lighthearted so I was excited to get into the latest installment. I definitely think I should’ve reread the first two as a nice refresher and recommend that readers do the same. I think this book needed a few refreshers of the first two books and DEF needed more Vero! I still love this series though, and can’t wait for what’s next!

This whole series is so good and entertaining. I appreciate all the work that Elle Cosimano puts into these books while also keeping us entertained.
