This was probably my least favorite book in this series, it just kind of feels like things are being strung out a little too much. It felt like a lot of fluff and not necessarily in the same vein as the other two.

There is so much over the top antics which is what this series is known for. I found it to be a little much for me. I will still move on and read book 4 because I like the characters but I hope the next one has a little more direction.

Finlay and Vera's antics continue in yet another fun installment of this series.

Every time I finish one of these books I wonder what else can these two get into yet each book takes us down another fun and adventurous journey. This one finds them entering the citizens police academy and true to this series, the comedy and antics will keep you turning page after page.

This series is a true gem and I cannot wait to see where book 4 takes us next. I don't want to spoil much, but I would definitely recommend this book and this series. If you haven't picked it up yet, definitely check it out.

Another delightful installment in the madcap adventures of Finlay Donovan and her nanny - I mean, accountant! - Vero. Finlay needs to figure out who the internet baddy EasyClean is. The one tip she has is that it is probably a cop. When the opportunity to enroll in a Police Citizen's Academy is presented, Vero jumps at the chance and drags Finlay along under the pretext of research for her next book. She has a little bit of writer's block because she just can't get the romance part right.
All the usual suspects are back including a few new ones.
This is a quick read and a good 3rd book in the series that will most likely leave you with more questions than answers - though a few are answered. The good news is that there will be a 4th book!
Thanks to the publisher for a digital ARC.

I'm always up for Finlay and Vero mischief. This did not disappoint, the amount of tight spots they manage to find themselves in is incredible, I enjoyed getting a little more background on Vero, and hope there is more in the next book. No spoilers, but I was VERY happy about some turns of events. If you are looking for a few chuckles mixed with some un-aliving, this is for you. I can't wait for the next one!

I LOVE Elle's books so much! They are hilarious, fast-paced, and engaging. The character relationship between Vero and Finaly is just the best. I love seeing what those two get into. They literally have no chill and get in the most random situations. GIVE ME MORE ELLE.

You can't go wrong with any of the Finley Donovan books, and I think this is one of the best. It's a funny take to serious subjects and you feel a connection to the characters. Love it

Finlay and Vero are back with even more mischief than before! The FINLAY DONOVAN series so fun and lighthearted so I was excited to get into the latest installment. I definitely think I should’ve reread the first two as a nice refresher and recommend that readers do the same. I think this book needed a few refreshers of the first two books and DEF needed more Vero! I still love this series though, and can’t wait for what’s next!

This whole series is so good and entertaining. I appreciate all the work that Elle Cosimano puts into these books while also keeping us entertained.

This series continues to wow me while making me cackle with delight. In continuous awe of Cosimano's wit and clever storytelling - I can't put these down and can't wait for the next. I would be amiss if I didn't mention that Finlay and Vero's friendship is my absolute favorite part. I see myself and my own boss in the two of them, but with a lot less murder. They're such well-written characters! And this story is so juicy and so action-packed in an unexpected way. Finaly Donovan Jumps the Gun is yet another great installment in this series!

‘It’s a little far-fetched.”

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is the third installment in the Finlay Donovan series by Elle Cosimano. Trying to move on from recent events prove impossible as Finlay and Vero once again find themselves right in the midst of trouble. Given an ultimatum they literally cannot refuse; they enroll in a citizen’s police academy led by none other than Nick. What could go wrong?

I totally got Police Academy meets Troop Beverly Hills vibes while reading this and I loved it. I learned a little more about Finlay. Vero continues to be my favorite sidekick. I have to say that we’re introduced to a ton of new characters in this installment. While it didn’t take me long to get acquainted with everyone, I can see it being a bit overwhelming. I do think that these additional characters added to the whodunnit element of the story. Speaking of whodunnit, everyone was a suspect, lol. I was also glad to see the romance subplot reduced in some areas.

Overall, Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun was a hilarious, wild ride. If you’re looking for a serious mystery- thriller, this may not be the series for you. It is over the top, outlandish, and does require a fair amount of suspension of reality. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

*3.5 stars* Thank you Netgalley for the arc. Although this book is called Jumps the Gun, we are beyond the point of jumping the shark. This was so ridiculous and far fetched. I miss the single mom hijinks, what made me love the first book. We need that vibe back.

I so enjoyed the first two books in this series and was hoping Finlay and Vero would have more interesting adventures but I just didn’t enjoy this one. I found a lot of it to be unbelievable and rather silly, not very funny.

Finlay and Vero are back and up to more shenanigans. I’d recommend that you read this series in order starting with book 1 because the relationships of the characters build out from there plus you might find a few spoilerish items for the previous mysteries. I found this to be an entertaining and fun ride just like the rest of the series. Recommended for when you’re in the mood for a light and enjoyable read.

Cosimano does it again! If you loved the hijinks and humor given in the first two books of this series, you’ll love this one too!

While, some of the book gave me filler episode vibes, I still found myself completely drawn in and loving this book. All our favorite lovable characters returns with a couple new ones to add to the gang!

As always, Cosimano’s book is a sitcom episode of psych or the like packed into a novel. If you want some mystery? Some humor and hijinks? Some romance? Check this one out!

This series is hilariously entertaining and full of suspense, I’ve been on the edge of my seat since book one! Finlay’s luck is so terrible, I find her and the crazy predicaments she gets into so relatable! The events in this series are definitely over the top but the way that things happen throughout the books just makes so much sense!

I loved that we finally get some answers on EasyClean in this book and I was absolutely shocked at who the culprit was! I did find that there were some references to events and people in past books that I could not remember at all but it didn’t really affect my overall enjoyment of the story. This is definitely a series that needs to be read from beginning to end, this one won’t work well as a standalone.

Although the cliffhanger at the end left me wanting more, I’m glad to know that this isn’t the last we’ll see of Finlay and Vero’s adventures!

Read this if you:
- Want a little suspense in your books without being scared
- Need some drama in your life
- Have ever had to bribe a toddler with cheerios

This is the 3rd in the series. I’m not sure what it says about me that I don’t like the characters, the storylines are cory and over the top, and yet every time a new book comes out I can’t help but read it. It probably because I know Finlay’s shenanigans are sure to make me laugh. And of course it had to end on the kind of cliff hanger that ensures I read the next one.

"Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun" was the first Finlay Donovan book I've read, and I have to say that after reading the opening I was ready to admit my mistake and move on--to me, it was trying too hard to be funny and came off instead as plain silly. But I hate to leave things unfinished, so I circled back and was able to settle into the screwball comedy vibe the second time around. I do think that not having read the first two books of the series was part of the reason I couldn't get into this one--it's not really a standalone, as the plot is a continuation of events from the first two books and constantly refers back to them without giving a useful summary. I liked the characters of Finlay and Vero and enjoyed the banter between them, and there were some genuinely funny scenes, but after a while the madcap tone and the more and more preposterous series of scrapes began to grate. (Maybe I'm just too old.)

Thank you to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for providing me with an ARC of this title in return for my honest review.

As with the other Finlay Donovan, I love this one. The storyline is fast moving an I love the characters. The mystery always keeps me guessing and makes this book hard to put down! I definitely recommend this third installment of Finlay Donovan.

Finlay and Vero are back again in this third installation to the FD series! My favorite part about these books is always the dialogue. Anytime Vero says just about anything, I'm almost always snickering at the very least. I thought this book was better than #2 and while I was on the fence about continuing the series, after reading this one, I'm glad that I did. Cosimano's witty writing keeps me on my toes and constantly laughing. My only complaint is that I felt the plot twist at the end wasn't as satisfying as I wanted it to be. I love to unravel a mystery and this one just felt like it came out of left field - like we're just going to pin this on an unimportant and barely present character for the sake of keeping the characters we already know and love. I'd love to see some instances of betrayal moving forward (other than Vero's constantly omitting things from her past). Altogether I was content to spend my time reading this novel and I'll definitely keep reading the series as more installments are released.
