Not my favorite of the series but I enjoyed this once I got about 30% in. It starts off very slow, but picks up. I don’t recommend reading this as a stand alone, this is best read as book 3 as intended. I’m anxious to see if we’ll see more of Finlay!
On a side note, I appreciated that there was very little mention of the kids in this book. Zach specifically was always described in such a gross way, so I’m happy that there was minimal mention of sour milk breath or dirty diapers.
Thank you to the publisher for an advance copy. Thoughts are my own.

Absolutely love these books! If Cosimano can just continue with this series forever I will be the happiest person on earth. Finlay Donovan does it again. She is funny, relatable, and the perfect character. This book picks up right where the last one ended. I love that Cosimano is able to bring us right back in to the story and keep you engaged the entire time.

My third and final Finlay...
I absolutely loved Finlay Donovan is Killing It. I enjoyed Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead. Unfortunately though, I did not enjoy Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun.
I don't know if this one was missing the same magic, if I just wasn't in the right mood for their silly (now ridiculous hijinks) or if there were just too many unbelievable and loose strands from the previous two books that I just couldn't tell myself to just go with it and have fun (like I had for the first two books).
Summary
Through firearm training and forensic classes (and some hands-on research with a tempting detective), Finlay and Vero use their time in police academy to sleuth out the real contract killer to free themselves from the mob's clutches―all the while dodging spies, confronting Vero's past, and juggling the daily trials of parenthood.
Have you read any of the Finlay books?
Thank you @netgalley for this free review copy!

Finlay and Vero are back at it again and they get into more sticky situations but somehow come out safe every time. You definitely need to reach book in the series for this one to make sense but it had all the right ingredients: humor, mystery and romance. I can’t wait to see how they get out of the next situation and how Finlay and Nick’s romance develops.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.

These will never get old! I LOVE FINLAY!! This series is one of the only series I can read and laugh at. I like the romance that is in it and the fact that it’s not front and center for the book. I’m so hoping we have another one coming soon!!!

3.5 ⭐️
These books get crazier as they go but I’m not that mad at them. Usually I’m not a fan of stories that are so unbelievable but somehow it works. Cosimano knows to put a story together no matter how insane it is.
I will say, to me this book has the most unbelievable storyline out of the 3. It’s my least favorite too. While I love the characters and the writing, I feel like the series is getting too long. I assumed this would be the last and based on the ending it’s not. Eventually these characters have to stop making terrible choices 😅
I loved seeing how the romance developed between the Nick and Finlay. It was about damn time!
Overall I enjoyed it and it was a quick read!

First of all, thank you so much NetGalley and Celadon books for the opportunity to read the third book in this beloved series.
I deeply enjoy reading Finlay and Vero's antics, and this book was no exception to that. I do think that this book was stretching reality just a little bit, I've never once heard of a citizen's police camp, and it just seemed far too coincidental that Finlay and Vero should go.
I loved the romance between Finlay and Nick but I really just wanted more spicy scenes between them, because that sexual tension was STRONG.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one but it wasn't my favorite in the series.

I have absolutely loved the first two Finlay books and this one did not disappoint.
Finlay and Vero ended book 2 owing Vero's gambling debt and owners of a bullet ridden luxury car thanks to Feliks the mob boss. In return Feliks wants them to figure out the actual identity of who their competitor hitman "Clean Sweep" is. Caleb (the techie) told him he feels like it's a cop so they decide to attend Hot Cop Nick's citizen "police academy". They basically suspect everyone.
Finlay also is under deadline to revise her latest manuscript with more "hot cop" content. Vero encourages her to do some research IRL for the steamy parts. During a mock trial at the police academy Finlay's former flame Julian shows up as a lawyer.
This book is fast paced and full of catastrophes...back to back catastrophes, but Finlay and Vero tackle each one.
If you liked the first two, you will like this one...but wow...that's a cliffhanger! How long until book 4?

i LOVE this series so much. Thank you for the opportunity to read this. I have sung praises about this series on my instagram page. SOrry for the late response.

It's official, this series is the new version of Stephanie Plum. I think that's a good thing. This is crazy and funny and everything we've come to expect from Finlay and Vero. However, I do think a little bit of that novelty has worn off and their bad decisions are getting a little bit old. This was a 3 star read for me. I enjoyed it, and I'll definitely continue with this series as long as it goes, but it's not an all time fave.

I need all the Finlay Donovan I can get in my life! This third installment was my favorite one yet. Yes, we still get all of the madcap hijinks. Yes, we still get the great buddy relationship between our two favorite accidental hitwomen. Yes, we get the usual amount of angst and romance drama. But, we also somehow get a Finlay that relaxes enough to do some self-analysis and trust in the process, trust in herself, and give herself time to breathe and enjoy life.
I've read all of the series, and this one is my new favorite. I hope they keep on coming! You need to read this series!

Thank you to St Martin’s and Netgalley for the eARC of Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun by Elle Cosimano.
This is the third book in the Finlay Donovan series. Having read the first two I knew that Finlay and and her sidekick Vero would be getting into trouble and trying to outwit some dangerous criminals. The author manages to add in quite a bit of humor too.
I do think it’s good to read this series in order because the character relationships grow and change throughout. This was my least favorite of the three books. One of the reasons for this was the vast number of side characters introduced at the police academy. I just couldn’t keep track of all of them. That won’t necessarily be an issue for every reader though.
Of course everything can’t stay calm for too long with Finlay Donovan. Sounds like they just might have to join forces again to protect the people they love.

Finlay is back! Though did she ever really leave?
Book 3 in the Finlay Donovan series picks up right where book 2 ended off and doesn't skip a beat. There's plenty of rehashing and refreshing (which felt a little tedious at times) so no worries if it's been a minute since you've heard from our old pals Finlay and Vero. I do recommend reading the prior two books and not picking this up as a standalone as you'll miss quite a bit.
The shenanigans remain at an all time high and if you enjoyed the humor from the first two books, you're sure to feel right at home.
While this book was entertaining and fun, I've had enough of this series, or I at least need it to turn another page. The entire series spans a very short few months so while so much happens, no time passes at all. You really need to be able to suspend all sense of believability to thoroughly enjoy these books and I just couldn't do it.
The book ends on quite the cliffhanger, confirming your suspicion that this series will continue. I don't think I need to include any future books on my TBR unless I hear it takes a major turn as this storyline has been well and wholly played out for my taste, but if you loved the prior two books, don't let me dissuade you!!

This is my favorite Finley book yet!!
Maybe I liked it because there was less overall action, but still over the top antics. Or maybe I liked it because there was less of a love triangle, and more of some burning love answers.
Or maybe I liked it because while one question was answered, more questions came up.
Who knows the exact reason, I just know that yet again - Finley finds herself in sticky situations, but always manages to wiggle her way out, and by this point - we know there’s going to be some out of this world luck, chance, circumstance, whatever you may have it, to help her along the way.
I still don’t fully trust Vero, and find her harming Finely more than she helps her, but that’s a conversation for the next book! I can’t wait!
Thank you NetGalley for my advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review!

I love Finlay Donovan, I will read any book about her ever. As these books go on, they get more and more unrealistic so if you're okay with that, this book definitely didn't disappoint. If you can't get passed the blatant mistakes and dumbness portrayed by all characters, don't even pick it up, it will bother you. This book is super quick and it really feels like it fits in with the other 2 books well.
Fingers crossed Elle Cosimano blesses us with more Finlay Donovan for many years to come!

ack with all the same great characters we love, 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝘂𝗻 finally gives us more of Vero's story! She remains my favorite character in this series with her quick thinking, perfectly timed one-liners, and, yes, accounting background.
I attempted the audio this time, but I ended up going back to the e-book. Vero didn't sound like I envisioned after reading the first two. It was 100% a "me" problem.
Highly recommend reading the prior books before starting this one as it picks up right where the last ended. With the love triangle closure, this may be my last Finlay Donovan book. I'm not usually one to read series as it is SO hard to top the first.
Thank you to @netgalley @macmillian.audio @minotaur_books for an advanced copy. 3.5 stars rounded t0 4.

The third book in the Finlay Donovan series and I wasn’t disappointed!
Is this series absolutely ridiculous? Yes!
-But I can’t help but love each and every book in this series.
This might be the only series I’ve read that leaves me laughing the entire way through each book. Mostly because-Vero! Shes the best sidekick!

This is book three in the series, and I’m happy it won’t be the last one! Finlay has gotten herself into a sticky situation with the Russian mob that’s blackmailing her to find the identity of a hired assassin. If she doesn't, her past will catch up with her, and secrets will be unearthed. Vero, her partner in crime/nanny/ seems to think their target is a cop, so they’re thrust into an intensive citizen’s police training academy, which pushes them to their limits. Will the skeletons in their closet be exposed once and for all?
This series never ceases to surprise me with every twist and turn. It’s a funny and enjoyable read!

Yet another fun installment in a fun series. Elle does not miss on this one. I will continue to follow Donovan until she reaches the end of her journey.

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun was amazing!! In this book Finlay and Vero head to police officers camp with a hit man on their tails. What could be more fun than obstacle courses and steamy escapades with a hunky cop?
