I enjoyed the first two books in this series but found this one to be just too dumb to read. It started out with the same characters and same plot as the previous book.

This was another fun installment to this series! I love the quirky and sometimes outrageous situations that Finlay and her crew find themselves in. I appreciate the author's ability to inject just enough mystery and suspense to keep me engaged while still finding the scenarios somewhat believable/plausible. The characters themselves are a lot of fun and I enjoyed getting to know them more in this book. I definitely recommend this series and have been a big fan since the first book. Looking forward to the next one!

Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for an advance copy for me to read and review!

Another Finlay Donovan book? Yes please! This is such a fun series. Fans of Stephanie Plum will love Finlay and her adventurous (and hilarious) exploits.

This was another really fun addition to the series! This may have been my least fave in the series, I found it started pretty slow and took me a bit to get into. However, by the end I couldn’t put it down. I’m definitely going to be picking up the fourth book!

I listened to the audio and it made me laugh so many times. I can picture Vero and Finlay in all the crazy situations they get themselves into.

This time, Finlay and Vero are in dire straights from different baddies.

The Russian mob leader, Feliks wants Finlay to find Easy Clean. Finlay has no clue how to do it but she believes Easy Clean might be a cop and she still suspects Joey, Nick's partner.

Vero owes money to people in Atlantic City and they are coming for payment.

So what do they do, they decide to join the one-week police academy for civilians and lay low while investigating who is Easy Clean.

It's always nice to get back into this crazy world. I love Finlay and Vero. I also liked Nick and Javi. I like Finlay's sister Georgia who now has a love interest. I still don't trust Finlay's ex-husband, Steven. He is hiding something. There is also a cameo of a certain law student and I was kind of sad Finlay was done with him.

In my opinion, this series should be read in order, otherwise, you might not get too many spoilers at once or not appreciate the craziness Finlay lives in.

Cliffhanger: No

4/5 Fangs

The Job and The Mob

This time the job is linked to the mob and man, is it a tough one involving investigation skills beyond what Vero and Finlay manage to possess, but as per usually it's fun, and bracing. They definitely feel more real, and intimidating in this book. And on top of that, the one working for them is a dirty cop and these two end up surrounded by them.

Did I solve the mystery? Hahaha I got this one so wrong, allowing myself to be led by a red herring. And then another one.

The Characters

There are some new characters in this book who I'd like to talk about.

Roddy - Cop - He has experience with children but man did Finlay make me question her choices when she let him babysit her kids. But the few times he did appear make me smile.

Wade - Former Cop - I never suspected him. I actually loved him, god help me I love a broody bad boy.

Not so new characters

Joey - Gosh he was such a dick in this.

Nick - I love Nick but he seems to straddle a line where Finlay is concerned and it makes me a little nervous to find out what may happen between them in the future if/when it all comes to a head.

The Setting

I have never ever read a mystery that took place in the belly of the beast so to speak and I freaking loved how cleverly Elle Cosimano managed to put together the reason why they could be there and everything that happened when they were there. It was one of the most perfect settings for a mystery about dirty cops for me.

The Plot

At one point while reading this book, late at night I told a friend that there was no possible way I was going to sleep before I finished the book because I absolutely, positively needed to know who had done it and what would happen next.

This book, possibly more than the previous two hooked me right from the get-go and yet it has blended so seamlessly with the previous books. Somehow the trope of a dirty cop seemed even more threatening in this book considering Vero and Finlay are surrounded by them.

Elle Cosimano is also so good at blending romance in without it overshadowing the entire plot.

The third installment in the Finlay Donovan series, action, laughs, mysteries, murder and mayhem abound with Finlay and Vero on the case. An enjoyable, laugh out loud mystery. It’s fast paced and as always there is a lot going on in Findlay’s world. I recommend reading this series in order to fully understand the characters and situations.

More funny, wild antics for our two leading ladies. Enjoyable action storylines. All the craziness these two find themselves in is hysterical. Really enjoyable ending to this trilogy

This is the third installment in the Finlay Donovan series. This book starts off right where book 2 ends. In my opinion, you really need to have read the first two books to understand this one fully. I have read the first two books and was really struggling to remember all the nuances of the crazy that has happened to Finlay and Vero.

I loved the story from the start. One of my favorite parts about these books is the raw look at how motherhood evolves overtime. It is a miniscule part of the story but it isn't highlighted enough and I love Elle Cosimano for it. I loved the love interest aspect in this book and how easy it was to get invested in the story. As with all the books in this series, you have to suspend disbelief in this book because there is no way this would happen in real life. The real winner of this one was that fact that I couldn't guess for the life of me who Eazy Clean was. Overall, this book was just as fantastic as the others and I can't wait for the next one!

This series gets better with each book. I am really enjoying the friendship between Vero and Finaly. This book was fun.At the same, it answered a lot questions.

Elle Cosimano does it again! I really enjoyed this book. I wasn't a huge fan of book 2, but book 3 was great. The storyline was refreshing. And as always the humor was on point.

Finlay and Vero are such interesting characters, who seem to keep getting themselves into trouble. It's like they can't help it. If there is any sort of trouble within a mile of them, they find themselves in the middle of it. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

I thought the other characters in the book were great. They all brought something to the table. Nick of course is one of my favorites. I love him! I was pleasantly surprised by the ending of the book. I was way off in my guess. I can't wait till book 4!!

Once again the narrator was fantastic. She makes the book even more enjoyable!!

I Love the entire Finlay Donovan series. It’s hilarious, sometimes predictable but always entertaining.

Oh Finlay Donovan what will you get yourself into next? So far I’ve enjoyed each book in this series and I thoroughly enjoy the lightheartedness and humor that make this series standout. Finlay is back at it and always a step too close to danger. Engaging and humorous and easily follows the other two stories. The very first chapter had me laughing… I read this in 2 days and now I will impatiently wait for another in the series. I love how each story ends completely but opens up to a mini cliffhanger to keep us wanting more. Fantastic series that several of my coworkers have now become super fans of!

This follows the antics of Finlay Donovan, inadvertent assassin for hire. I’m not going to give you the plot of this one in case you haven’t read the other two (and you do have to read them in order). Same characters with Finlay and her side kick Vero and handsome cop love interest Nick.

Rate: 3 stars - I loved book two, but this one didn’t have as much focus and it needs to wrap up. It didn’t … there will still be a book four and i think it’s too much.

Ever since I read the first Finlay Donovan, I have been obsessed with this world. The characters, the comedy, and the mystery (plus a side of romance) all pull me in and keeps me turning the pages. The third installment, Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun, is no different.

Reading this book felt like coming back to a family. You haven't seen them in awhile, but you always want to know what everyone is up to and what messes they've been cooking up. And let's be honest...we know Finaly and Vero are always in some trouble.

We find Finlay in debt to mob boss Feliks, even though he's behind bars. Her task? Identify a contract killer before the cops do. The only problem? The killer might be an officer themself.

Most of the book takes place at a citizen's police academy and I found myself cackling while reading so many of the scenes. I loved that we kept all the characters we love, but added some new ones in the mix. I usually don't read a ton of connected series where the timeline continues with the same characters, but this is one series that I will always pick up.

Now let me start off by saying zelle Cosimano is one of my absolute favorite authors… The Finlay Donovan series is one of my favs but this book didn’t do it for me. I missed all the outlandish chaos. I didn’t much care for the police training either.

Finlay Donovan is back and causing more trouble than ever. I will start by saying this is not a series where you can just pick up one out of order and understand what is going on. These are written more like a TV series with cliffhangers and weaving of story lines.

In the third book, Finlay and Vero go to a police boot camp run by Nick and the local police department in order to find out the contract killer who was using the Russian mob's chat room to scope out kills. Misunderstandings ensue, sexual tension is everywhere, and secrets are revealed.

I highly recommend this series to anyone. They are fast reads that you will enjoy and keep you guessing just as much as Finlay is.

I never expected a thriller series with as gimmicky a premise as “mother being mistaken as hitman” would have the longevity for a three book and counting series but here we are with Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun. This feels like a return to form for the series because the shakiness of relationship between Finlay and Vero was resolved in the second book and they’re back to being a true chaotic duo.

Finlay and Vero’s banter is always going to be the selling point of this series, and with Vero’s backstory out of the way in the last book, this third one really just lets her be the ridiculous yet ride-or-die friend to Finlay that is so fun to watch. Throw in a healthy dose of Finlay’s elderly neighbor into the mix and I’m kind of sold on any kind of plot here.

The majority of this book taking place at a police academy training camp was a bit of an odd setup but it was an effective one for plenty of shenanigans. This series is always going to be one that demands setting aside any semblance of plausibility to enjoy. But it’s not one that does it in a blatantly obnoxious way and always recognizes the absurdity of Finlay’s accidental hitwoman antics and amateur sleuthing.

This third book is for fans of the series (obviously) but it’s especially going to resonant with fans of the tone of the first book in the series. I loved it, and am looking forward to whatever antics ensue in the next installment.

Amazing third installment! Please tell me there will be book four?! I need it BAD.

The adventures of Finlay and Vero are my favorite pastimes. The amount of danger and trouble these two always seem to wind up in leaves me in stitches from laughter. I was slightly disappointed that this one didn't give it's main focus on Vero's story like the second book led us to believe, but I was still thoroughly entertained.

I cannot get enough of this series, the author, and the laugh out loud writing that comes with it.

I normally do not read series. I find it just too hard to keep up with all the characters and to also wait for the next book to be published. That is not the case with Finlay Donovan. The characters are so well written and so funny.
