I LOVED the first finlay-- liked the second one a lot less and this one was just a little bit of a bummer. I think I've burned myself out on it. I'm sure everyone else will love this one but it's not for me.

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun by Elle Cosimano

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is the next installment (#3) in the Finlay Donovan series. I enjoyed reading this book as Finlay tracks down the identity of a killer who goes by EasyClean. It's a "light" book with lots of laughs thrown in the mix. Definitely check it out if you've read the previous two books!

I love this series and huge fan of Fi Kay as a character. Each book is outlandish but super entertaining.

This third installment of the Finlay Donovan series was my favorite so far. I absolutely love this series and all the characters.

I’m pretty sure Vero is my favorite as she has such a great personality and her humor is on point with mine. I loved how this one dealt deeper into her past and exposed a softer side to her that hasn’t completely been seen in the other two books.

This time Finlay and Vero find themselves at a newly developed Citizens Police Academy all under the ruse of more book research. Tensions are high and plenty of action and hijinks ensue as these two just try and make it thru the week.

Thank you to netgalley and Minotaur books for this gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.

"Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun" is the third in Elle Cosimano's Finlay Donovan series. I've enjoyed each book in this series, and the third was no exception. Like the previous books, this one had a lot of hijinks, adventure, humor, and romance. It requires a lot of suspension of disbelief, but for me, the characters are engaging enough that I don't mind going on a wild (sometimes unrealistically whacky) ride with Finlay, Vero, Nick, Georgia, and other returning characters.

These books are so fun. Finlay and Vero are back at it again and to great delight. I actually could do with less romance in these but all around good fun. Quick reads and I always the elements of female friendship.

Another sensational hit with our main girl, Finlay Donovan! Just about as much no -stop craziness as the first two books in the series, Finlay and Vero are the dynamic duo back again, except this time taking on a Russian mob boss. Another adventure where the twists and turns keep you guessing! You won’t want to put this one down.

Fun but not as fun as the first. Finley finds herself in these silly predicaments and the laughs follow.

I was so lucky to receive an early copy of Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun by Elle Cosimano from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. I absolutely LOVE this series and cleared my night so I could start this immediately. I will say as much as I love this series this was not my 'favorite' book so far. It was good and there were lots of laughs, etc but I felt like it just didn't gain as much traction as her other books. Knowing the ending was a cliff hanger we know book #4 isn't far away and like always, I can't wait to read it!

Finlay really is out here on these adventures. Well meaning and poorly executed is clearly her motto, although she does manage to get the job done.

I have been struggling with this series since the first book and there are probably a lot of reasons for that. Firstly, I am not a huge series person, especially when it comes to mysteries. I am finding it more and more difficult to suspend my disbelief. Secondly, Finlay has become more frustrating as the series goes on and I am not invested in her romances. And lastly, it's become too over the top for me. This is definitely a me thing though because I also loved season one of Dead to Me and then couldn't get through season two. I will be interested to see what the author writes outside of this series because I like her ideas!

The first two Finlay Donovan books were stellar, quick and bright and hilarious. The third lagged a bit and I fell out of reading it (twice), but I am happy I hung in there and finally completed it. I not so patiently await whichever adventures may be next.

Sadly my least favorite book in the series so far. I didn't care for the police training setting, it wasn't my favorite and honestly it made this book feel a little dull compared for the others. It wasn't as engaging and it almost felt like a book filler for the series. There wasn't much character development as the other books but I did still enjoy the outlandish adventures and dry wit from Finlay and her awesome sidekick. This definitely won't cause me to stop reading the series, I just hope the next one is better.

Thanks to Minotaur Books for the gifted copy for my honest review!

I love this series so much. Elle's writing is so engaging and fun with well developed characters and friendships. I thought this was a great ending to the trilogy.

Thank you to the publisher, author and netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book before release.

Unfortunately this was not it for me. I read the first two books of the series and they were ok. The first book was the best in my opinion.

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is the third book in Elle Cosimano's series.
Finlay Donovan is trying to disentangle herself from the insanity that has become her life. However, every time she tries to remove herself from these ridiculous situations, she ends up being drawn in deeper. Now Finlay has landed in a police training camp for citizens trying to find a contract killer at the behest of a mob boss.
This is just as fun as the previous entries in the series and this is a perfect read a like for Janet Evanovich fans.

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is Book 3 in Elle Cosimano’s series. And although I LOVE this series, book three was just ok for me. I definitely LOVED books 1 & 2 and still have high hopes for book 4 when it arrives.

I enjoyed the narration. It really keep the storyline moving. It was just the book itself was a little too far fetch and unbelievable at this point for me. In my honest opinion it didn’t add any value to this series whatsoever.

A huge thank you to NetGalley, Minotaur Books and Macmillan Audio for this e-arc & listening copy in exchange for my honest opinion. I did enjoy it however, it wasn’t my favorite but am I here to continue to read about Finlay and Vero, 100%.

This was my favorite book of the whole series so far because it felt the most realistic of the 3. I like that Finlay and Nick are starting to actually figure things out and I really enjoyed the police academy plot line.

Another fun and exciting read about Finlay! This one was great and I enjoyed the closed door setting. I thought it made Finlay a little less chaotic which was a nice surprise. All in all it was a great read and I look forward to the next book!

I have been reading this book series with my Cozy Mystery Book Club and it's been a lot of fun. I'm really enjoying these books. Our group is ready for book #4 to be released in 2024. I would definitely recommend this book series to any reader especially if they are a fan of mystery and/or cozy mystery.
