This book surprised me! I enjoyed it more than the second book and found it to be a solid addition to the series. I loved the forced proximity setting of being at a citizen’s police academy. Of course Finlay and Vero’s adventures and antics were hilarious. I’m excited to read the next book in the series.
Thanks to Minotaur Books and NetGalley for the ARC!

Elle does it again! I love this series, and this book was no exception. I really love the deeper dives as we progress through the series into the characters' backstories and minds, and this one really showed some true progress and depth.

Wow! This might be my favorite book in the series. Time will tell. The action did not stop and the plot thickened - how could it have possibly thickened any more you ask? I read this in two days. It's impossible to put down. What trouble could Finlay and Vero get up to a police academy camp? If you have to ask you must not know these two and (Hallelujah!) Nick is on the scene for some forced proximity romance. READ THIS SERIES NOW!

I know that suspending belief is necessary for reading this but even that has its limits. These really need to be read in order in order to understand what is going on. To me it is one long book just released in segments once a year. I don't like Finlay. She loves her kids but she is usually just passing them off on someone else and I don't find the kids cute. The characters just don't seem well developed and I am tired of hearing about Zach's toileting antics. While the banter between Finlay and Vero was amusing in book #1 it is getting old and they are both so mired in intrigue with Feliks and hiding more and more since what happened in book #1 I can't keep track of it all. As far as her attraction to Nick I don't see a budding romance just lusting after each other. The ending should have been heart pounding but with all the silliness through the whole book I just didn't feel it and the ending again was a cliffhanger. I hate when an author does that.
I would like to thank Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for providing me with a digital copy.

Oh my goodness! What a hilarious series!
Author and single mom, Finlay Donovan has somehow become beholden to the Russian mom boss. To get out from under his thumb, she is tasked with finding the identity of a particular hitman, which could very well be a crooked cop. So she and Vero head off to the newly-created citizen's police academy to do a bit of covert intel gathering. Among the instructors is that dishy detective, Nick Anthony. There's obviously a bit of chemistry going on between him and Finlay. Can Finlay and Vero get to the bottom of the matter without ending up in the hitman's crosshairs? It's a wild ride as they try.
Author Elle Cosimano is brilliant in her writing of this series. The characters are hilarious in their dialogue and cutting remarks. The women are strong and clever while many of the men are rather morally challenged. Finlay Donavan and her nanny, Vero, make for a dubious duo in this series and their antics keep the reader chuckling. It's a wild ride for sure and nowhere near believable, yet oh so fun!
I am grateful to Minotaur Books for having provided a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Their generosity, however, has not influenced this review - the words of which are mine alone.

This series just keeps getting better. Every time I think I know where the story is going, Cosimano throws in another twist. Keep reading, these are absolutely worth it!

This is the third in the Finlay Donovan series, and in my opinion, the most down-to-earth. Take that with a grain of salt, because there are still some wild adventures that require a suspension of disbelief, but this time around, they're delivered with a touch more realism that adds depth to the story. For me, that was a big win. I loved the first book in the series (and that's still my favorite), but the second one flopped for me, with everything going just a little too far for my taste. While ultimately, I think I've decided that Finlay needed to be a one-off read for me after finishing book one, I did feel better about the series after this book than I did with the second and am glad I gave it a shot. For those who want a light mystery with humorous, exaggerated antics, this remains a solid choice

We are back at it again with Finlay and Vero with their crazy lives! The hilarious situations that arise because of their antics is always so fun. I enjoy this series so much as there is such a good balance of thrill and comedy. These are great fun and light reads. This book, as others, were quick paced and kept me really engaged!

Finaly has really got herself into a jam this time. She has to find the contact killer who was trying to kill her husband, and she's under a time crunch to do it.
The antics and the amount of bad guys just keep climbing! The author is doing a great job of keeping the suspense while holding on to that slow burn between Finaly and Nick. Throw Vera and a few other characters in, and it's sure to be a wild ride!

Wow. Like the previous two books in the series, this one was improbable but fun. The ending, though. Talk about a fast-paced final act. I was on the edge of my seat wondering how they were going to scrape through.
I enjoyed the setting at the police academy and there were definitely moments that made me giggle.
But, ugh, Stephen is the worst. I'm so over him.
Looking forward to where Finlay and Vero go next!

Another great book by Ellie Cosimino. this whole series is great! some of the things that happen are so wild and crazy, but that is what makes it so enjoyable!

From USA Today bestseller and Edgar Award nominee Elle Cosimano, comes Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun—the hilarious and heart-pounding next installment in the beloved Finlay Donovan series.
Thank you to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for the opportunity to read and review an advanced readers copy of this book. This in no way affects my review, all opinions are my own.
It took me a while to finally pick up the third installment in the Finlay Donovan series and it's just as fun as I remember! I didn't love this one as much as the first two but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The dynamic between Finlay and Vero is unmatched and just so silly and engaging to experience. The banter is over the top and just propels the story forward with how loveably messy they are. I think Cosimano introduces side characters really well and plants the perfect seed of doubt in each one so that you're constantly wondering who the dirty cop is. I love the budding romance between Finlay and Nick (if you love slow burns, this is a great one) and how each book we get more insight into the personal lives of Vero and Georgia as well.
These books are always set up very well for the next one so I'm excited to see what happens next. These books are pretty eccentric and unrealistic but they're just such a fun and exciting ride that it doesn't bother me. I will say though I can see myself burning out from the series after maybe 2-3 more books, just because you start to wonder what else can these two go through?
If you like fast-paced, suspenseful, and hilarious thrillers you should definitely start this series!

This was a new series’s to me so I grabbed all of the books. I’ve only read the first couple but I’m loving it and will be continuing with the series and looking forward to the next ones.

4.5 stars. This series is a wild ride. It's completely ridiculous, but hilarious. I love Cosimano's writing. It's fast and witty and her characters are a good time. These books are a great quick read and perfect for travel or just a little change of pace.

This is the 3rd book of the series, and I have enjoyed every one of them. In this book, Finlay is in debt to Feliks, a Russian mob boss, after he paid for a car that Vero had 'borrowed' - for good reason - and wrecked. Feliks has a trial coming up, and now he wants Finlay to find a mysterious person named EasyClean as payment for her debt to him. One problem is that EasyClean may be a member of the police force, so Finlay needs to find a way to be around police officers. And of course, Finlay is also raising two young children and trying to finish another book.
I received an e-arc from the publisher St. Martin's Press/Minotaur Books via Netgalley, and voluntarily read and reviewed it.

Elle Cosimano delivers another wild, laugh-out-loud mystery with Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun, blending crime, comedy, and chaos in perfect measure. This time, Finlay and her ever-resourceful sidekick Vero find themselves roped into a police academy program—not for research, but as a way to uncover a contract killer hiding in law enforcement while staying one step ahead of the Russian mob. The novel is packed with hilarious mishaps, sizzling chemistry between Finlay and Detective Nick, and the ever-present challenge of balancing motherhood with an increasingly criminal double life.
The stakes feel higher in this installment, with Vero’s mysterious past finally coming into play, but at times, the plot leans more into the absurd than the suspenseful. While the humor and witty banter keep the story engaging, some of the twists feel a bit predictable. Still, the book’s fast pace, lovable characters, and sharp writing make it an immensely fun ride. Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is a fantastic addition to the series, proving once again that Finlay’s life is anything but ordinary.

(3.5) I love this series but this was my least favorite so far. It had typical 3rd book of a series to me. It did not hold my interest as much as the others but was still good and entertaining!

I loved the newest Finlay book! Thanks for the early copy Netgalley! Jumping back into this world is always a fun time! I’m so curious to see where the story goes from here!

So smart of the author to change things up in this book! Once again, a fun book with a great mystery and lovable characters who are easy to relate to and root for!

another delight of a mystery! i love watching the nonsense Finlay and Vero manage to get into each time, and how it somehow *always* gets worse. while i did enjoy this a lot, i really wish we'd focus on Finlay's romantic relationships less, there's zero chemistry between her and both love interests after 3 books which is kind of wild, and also just distracting from the actually interesting parts of the plot.
