A fantastic addition to this fun series! In Finlay Donovation Jumps the Gun by Elle Cosimano we’re immediately thrust back into Finlay and Vero's vivid, precarious world. I love the snark and light-hearted tone of this series and found this to be just as enjoyable as the two previous books. Though some of the antics are a little far-fetched, it's such a fun ride with action, mystery, and romance. The action and characters keep me intrigued as I listen. Angela Dawe is a pitch-perfect narrator for Finlay and other characters. The audiobooks for this series are so fun!
Thank you Minotaur Books / Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for providing this ebook / audiobook ARC. All thoughts are my own.

I adored this third installment to the Finlay series. #FinlayForever I will read anything by this author because her characters are so real to me. Definitely recommend if you love mysteries!

The biggest thank you to @minotaur_books for my ARC!
Finlay and Vero are back y'all and they are better than ever! I had an instant smile on my face from page one because I had no idea what these two would get into next, but I knew that I would be entertained the entire time.
Here's the thing with these books - know matter what they are doing and how unrealistic I know it to be it doesn't matter to me. I love these two characters so much. There is no better duo and no better friendship than what these two are and share!
And speaking of realistic, I actually felt this book was the most realistic of them all? I loved the police academy setting! We got more of Nick and Fin. We even got a glimpse at Mrs. Haggerty (which I actually loved).
This book was funny, kept me turning the pages, and has made me so excited for *hopefully* another installment where we get to know Vero more 🤞🏼
This one comes out 1/31, so go ahead and pre-order it now!

Finlay, Finlay, Finlay! This read was so much fun! For all you fans of Finlay, this is the 3rd in the series. I am not typically a lover of series books, but Finlay has quickly become my fav. While Finlay is forever finding herself in a mess, Jumps the Gun is highly unbelievable. This one was a little forced for me. Almost like that too tight pair of jeans you so desperately want to fit, but they won't button. Finlay is undoubtedly a superb character, but I'd stick with the first two in this series.

I loved this book from page 1. The opening scene had me cracking up. Finlay and Vero have a Thelma and Louis type relationship. They are so good together. And Nick, what can I say. It was left open at the end so I can't wait for the next adventure. This needs to be on the small screen.

Elle Cosimano does it again! I seriously cannot get enough of this series.
This book was just as fun as the first two. Finlay and Vero are the perfect duo. Vero is my spirit animal.
And that cliffhanger? Cannot wait til the 4th installment!

I have mixed feelings about this book. I was so excited to read it as I loved the first two, and the premise sounded fun, but 20% in, I didn't find it as engaging as the other two, and I didn't feel like picking it up :( Maybe it was the setting that restricted the action, but it didn't feel as exciting as the previous book, less action packed. Still, I love the humour in this series and this 3rd book doesn't disappoint there. Also, Vero is also growing on me and I cannot wait to see how her story arc will develop.

The third installment of Finlay and Vero’s hijinks is just as much fun as the previous ones. I think I have used the word “hijinks” in each of my reviews for this series - but it’s just the perfect word to describe the slightly over-the-top situations that the two women fall into! The first book, Finlay Donovan is Killing It, is still my favorite of the series, but this one is a close second. If you haven’t checked this series out yet, I don’t know what you’re waiting for - unless you’re waiting for next Tuesday 1/31 when this one will be available! Thank you to Minotaur and NetGalley for the ARC - all opinions are my own.

This series goes farther into the camp-factor with each installment. I love the conceit of a romantic suspense author being trapped in a romantic suspense story, using her current circumstance to write her romantic suspense novel, and the ties between the side characters that becomes more absurd with each story. I'll keep coming back to see how Finlay is able to eventually get herself out of this mess, and how Vero's past indiscretions get resolved.

Finlay and Vero are back at it again. How these two find themselves in the situations they do is beyond me, but honestly I love it and I love the duo even more. They sure know how to make me laugh and keep me on my toes. Unfortunately, this was my least favorite of the series though, I still found it to be very entertaining. I mean that opening scene with a toddler and an occupied bathroom stall, freaking hilarious because if you're a mom like me I'm sure you've got a public bathroom story involving your toddler. My only qualm about the book is it felt repetitive, like we've been through it before, but again I didn't find myself bored at all. Just, felt like I almost knew what to expect. If you've read book two, you know about EasyClean, here in book three that person is back and Finlay and Vero are trying to determine who this person is but racing against the clock to do so. They think they may know, but Feliks, the Russian Mob Boss, aint playing. So to protect themselves, but also look for Easy Clean (who they think might be a cop) they join a civilian police academy, which happens to have been started by Nick (swoon). They gain all sorts of knowledge there that will come in handy eventually. What ensues is your typical Finlay and Vero shenanigans that we all know and love.
This is an easy read and based on the ending, I do believe we will be getting book four and because I am a fan of Finlay and Vero, I will be reading that one too.

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is the third book in the Finlay Donovan series.
This time, Finlay and Vero are off to a community police academy for a week - Finlay to hopefully determine who the dirty cop is and Vero to hide from someone in her past.
While I didn’t like it as much as the first two, I did enjoy. This installment gets off to a slower start than the previous two, and when there finally is some action it all seems to come at once.
This book did leave you with a set up to a fourth book. I will say that you do need to read these books in order as the cases build on one another.
Thank you to the publisher and author for the advanced audio and ebook copies in exchange for my honest review. Once again, the audio is wonderful.

Finlay is back!
Elle Cosimano has my heart...as do all of these characters. It is refreshing seeing their trademark antics show up on the page. The characters are what sell me on all of these books. Of course, I relate to Finlay in a few ways, but her best friend, Vero will be my forever favorite in this series. For many years, I devoured the Stephanie Plum books, and these remind me of that series as well. There's humor and antics with heart and...a hot cop.
The third installment is such a great time and I'm looking forward to more from these characters!

This is one of those books where you are really sad it ended and already looking for the next book. I love the two main characters and the ridiculous situations they end up in. I love the humor in the book and the sass. The whole series is great. I also really enjoy listening to the audio version. The narrator does a fantastic job.

✨Book Review✨
Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun by Elle Cosimano

Well, this series had a good run. I loved books one and two, but book three was not my favorite. It was way too heavy on the police presence for my liking. Also, the antics of Finlay and Vero just got a little old. This was still mildly entertaining, but probably would have been better if I had the first two books fresh in my mind.
.
I think I would recommend waiting to start this series until all of the books are out. This one left off on a cliffhanger again, but I know I won't remember it by the time I read the next book. Since these books tend to pick up where the previous one started, I would recommend reading them together as one long book. I might read book four whenever it comes out, but I'm really not sure at this point.

3.5
I do feel like the series might have been better served as just book 1, but it is still an enjoyable story and characters. I love the way the author uses humor in these stories. I’m normally not a fan of murder mystery type books but I do enjoy these. This one didn’t feel like it progressed the story as much as I had hoped and felt a little pointless to me. But I’m eager to see what book 4 is like.

This was the third book in the series and I just loved it! It's a fun cozy mystery with an added bonus of a romance mixed in. I read the first book in the series (back when it came out) but did not read the second and I'll admit I was confused a lot in the beginning. The author tries to fill in the blanks if it's been a while or you forgot but that made it slightly more confusing for me. So I'd recommend picking up the entire series to read - its such a fun series! - before you pick up book 3. I really enjoyed this one and the mystery, banter, romance, and humor. I can't wait for the 4th in the series and I plan on re-reading all the books when it comes out!
*Thank you to netgalley for an advanced copy. Opinions are my own.

Thank you to St. Martin's publishing crew! Elle Cosminano has done it again with the 3rd installment of the Finlay Donovan series. This is one of the most anticipated book for me for 2023. Fighting crime while taking care of kids....Finlay is a super mom! Finlay knows how to find the killer and do it with grace. With this book I can't count how many times I was laughing but also was so curious to find out how EasyClean was going to be captured. This book had me on the edge of my seat and was such an easy quick read! Loved it and would recommend it to anyone. :)

The dynamic duo is back! I was laughing so hard from chapter 1! I love how the author ties hunt and mystery and creates the best stories. Finlay gets into the most trickiest situations, but always finds a way out. I have been a fan since book 1 and this book was truly icing on the cake!

Just as fun and quirky as the last two books from Cosimano. Once you get started, it's hard to put them down. Flawed but loveable characters and a plot that doesn't let up. This is the perfect book to curl up with on a snow day and inhale with one gulp.

Finlay Donovan Jumps The Gun by Elle Cosimano is the third book in the Finlay Donovan series, and each one has improved upon the last! I’m really not sure where Cosimano's going to go from here, because how can she write the next one better than this one?
After finishing this book, I truly get the hype for this series! This will end up being a tetralogy of cozy mysteries, which I am finding very comforting, in a slightly odd and twisted way. These are the books I would take with me for a weekend away at a cabin in the mountains. They're just binge worthy, and the perfect real-world distraction.
I had the audio for the previous two books, and I really missed the narration with this one! I loved the narrator's voice, and the different voices she used really added an extra layer to the story. I'd highly recommend the audiobooks if they’re available to you.
The mystery at the center of this book was really intriguing, and I found myself trying to figure it out along with Finlay and Vero. I was actually really shocked by the ending! I mean, it's not a thriller twist, but this outcome came with its own surprises!
Finlay and Vero's friendship is second to none. This dynamic duo came to mind when I heard one of Kelsea Ballerini's new songs "If You Go Down (I'm Goin' Down Too)." I mean, if "Our bodies are buried and they're in the same ditch // So even if I wanted to, I can't snitch," doesn't sum up this ride-or-die relationship, I'm not sure what does!
Of course, every friendship can have its cracks, and in this book, Finlay is looking at Vero a bit differently, trying to figure her out. Finlay remembers something Vero had previously said (in Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead), and this aspect of Vero's character is slowly beginning to unfold. This small comment of Vero's has been bothering me since I read it, and honestly, I was beginning to think I had imagined it; I'm really glad this was mentioned again, and I'm looking forward to seeing what else we discover about Vero.
You can absolutely bet that I'll be adding this one to my shelf, and I'll be waiting as patiently as I can to read the fourth book in this series!
Thank you St. Martin's Press and Minotaur Books for the complimentary copy to read and review.
