A big thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for providing a copy of Finlay’s latest adventures to read and review.

Is the mess that Finlay is in a little outrageous and silly? Yes. Is this book a super fun read? Absolutely.

A delightful installment in Finlay’s saga and I can’t wait for the next.

I devoured this one in less than 24 hours. Whoops. 😬

I quite literally gasped in delight and did a little happy dance when I saw I was approved for an ARC from NetGalley and Minotaur Books for this new installment in the Finlay Donovan series! If you loved the first 2, you’ll love this one. But make sure you read them first - not a lot of catching you up.

Finlay and Vero are back in the third installment of this series. The story picks up where we left off, with Finlay afraid that her love interest/cop Nick suspects her in a series of crimes. Not only that, but Finlay and Vero are determined to find out the identity of EasyClean, the hit man for hire. They decide to go to a citizen’s camp held by police (and led by Nick) in order to research Finlay’s book and sniff out the dirty cop who they think might be EasyClean. As always, nothing goes according to plan when Finlay and Vero are involved.

I loved this book as much as the first, which is saying a lot! It was laugh out loud funny and moved the plot along further than the second book did. I adore Nick, and his character development and involvement in this book was perfect. Vero is hysterical, and some of the descriptions of her antics had me laughing out loud while I rushed to turn pages and find out what would happen next. I don’t know how she does it, but Elle Cosimano manages to write a page turner of a mystery, a hilarious comedy, and a romance all in one amazing book. I can’t get enough of Finlay, and based on the ending, I’m hopeful that there will be more coming in this series! If you enjoy hilarious banter between characters, slow burn romance, mysteries that leave you guessing, and a fun series to try, you’ve got to give Finlay a read!

Thank you so much to Netgalley, St. Martin’s Press, Minotaur books, and Elle Cosimano for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

Elle Cosimano's Finlay Donovan books are great fun and this newest one is no exception. Her writing is a great combination of mystery, suspense and humor, with a little romance to boot. Highly recommended for Finlay fans or readers who love light and fun mysteries. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Finlay is back and she is bringing us another killer story we all have fallen in love with!

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun by Elle Cosimano is one of my most highly anticipated reads of 2023.
A fast-paced, brilliant comedy-thriller. With some of the most well developed characters ever.
Donovan is one badass female lead! She's funny, sarcastic and so much fun to be around.
This book has such awesome characters. I just can't get enough of them. They are well defined and so realistic.
The plot will keep you guessing. Will have you thinking "what in the hell is going to happen next"?
Elle Cosimano's writing is clever, smart, imaginative and just so so much fun.
A clever, fun, highly entertaining story.
If you enjoy dark humor, chaos and messy situation's. You'll freaking love this series.
Any cozy mystery fan will go nuts over this one.

I have enjoyed these Findlay books, but I start by cautioning possible readers that this doesn’t work as a stand alone novel. Even having read the 2 earlier adventures, I found it hard to recall all the details and come up to speed on the story of Findlay and her companion, Vero.

They are constantly in search of handling the ever-growing demands (threats) dealing with the need for enormous sums of money. This quest involves them with criminals, Russian mobsters and other nefarious characters. Suspending disbelief really isn’t enough to get into this book with dead bodies, crime bosses and betrayers.

Romance is injected, which is delightful and because Findlay is so likable, we hope it works out.

It does make for interesting reading, but less exciting and more predictable than the fresh start of the first Findlay novel.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC.

I absolutely loved this book! Ever since I binged the first two in the series I've been looking forward to the next. I definitely thought this was going to be the last book in the series so I was overjoyed when I realized it ended in a cliffhanger. Each one of the Finlay Donovan books has kept me on the edge of my seat, biting my fingernails. I love the will they/won't they between Nick and Finlay and I can't wait to see where it heads (fingers crossed on them ending up together!). Cannot wait till the next one. Once again, an amazing book by Elle Cosimano.

I have enjoyed this series SO much, so I was really excited to jump back into Finlay's world and read about her latest shenanigans.

Most of Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun follows Finlay and Vero as they spend a week in a civilian's police academy training while also trying to investigate the identity of EasyClean in their accidental mixup with the Russian mob.

This book has less Steven (bless) and even more Nick (double bless) than the last book. The opening scene made me feel particularly seen as a mother of young children. Just like the first two books in the series, this one had me laughing as I couldn't turn the pages quickly enough, yet I didn't want the story to end. And technically it didn't. This installment felt like a big setup for the series finale of the fourth book, so forewarned of the cliffhanger ending.

I highly recommend this book if you have read the first two in the series. If you haven't, start at the beginning! I'm just bummed that it's going to be a loooooong wait for book 4.

Big thank you to St. Martin's Press (Minotaur Books) and NetGalley for providing me with an advance reader copy to review. I loved it!!

This is one of my favorite series -- mystery and suspense mixed with just the right amount of humor. Finley and Vero head off the a citizen's police academy, headed by none other that the hot cop, Nick. They decide to go to the police academy for "research" reasons and of course always find themselves in some sort of messy situation.

I still think the first book in the series was my favorite, but this was a great addition. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to both #NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press/Minotaur Books for providing me an advance copy of Elle Cosimano’s third book in the Finlay Donovan series, Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun, in exchange for an honest review.

#FinlayDonovanJumpstheGun is an apt title for the third book in the Finlay Donovan series. Unlike the reason in my review for the second book, however, this is unfortunately due to the rushed plotline and lack of witty dialogue. It is easily the weakest novel in the series, but I have faith that the cliffhanger ending is setting readers up for a fourth book that will be a doozy.

Nevertheless, Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun still manages to entertain the reader—at least from an action-packed perspective. The dynamic duo, aka Finlay and Vero, are up to their usual antics of eluding criminals, dodging prison, and juggling daily life problems, except this time it is from the inside of a week-long experience at a citizen’s police academy. Where better to hide from the mob than a venue crawling with cops?

I recommend reading this if you are a fan of the series. If not, then I suggest you start with book one.

I was delighted to see a new Finlay Donovan book! Once again, Finlay & Vero find themselves dealing with the Russian mafia, small children and a hot police detective. The story is fast and fun and I'm already waiting for their next new adventures!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me read this digital ARC.

This was yet another laugh-out-loud title. My husband asked what I was reading. My co-workers asked what I was reading (I'm a librarian - it's like professional development...right?) Word of warning, it leaves you hanging as all the best books do, but I love these characters more and more and cannot wait for the next title. Write faster, Elle!

Finlay and Vero are back! This time they find themselves in police academy camp trying to discover who Easy Clean is. Easy Clean is blackmailing Finlay's "mob boss" Feliks, and he is also the person who tried to kill her ex-husband. Finlay and Vero believe Easy Clean may be a police officer. The head of the police academy camp happens to be Nick, which also throws a wrench into things for Finlay. I love these humorous fun romps with Finlay and Vero.

I received the book as part of Netgalley for my impartial opinion.
