This was definitely not my favorite of the series, but it still held my attention with funny mishaps.

Our favorite twosome is back! Vero and Finlay are talked into a week of civilian cop school. Could it be more perfect for our crime fighting girls? Of course, buildings catch are fire, people are unexpectedly injured and kisses are stolen.

I will say that I hope you remember books 1 and 2 before diving into this one. Thankfully, I read this with a group of wonderful ladies and between us we could piece it all back together. There are a lot of characters to remember and it appears they are going to be making appearances throughout the series.

The ending, of course, set us up for the next installment and I am excited to see what they get into next.

Whew! Talk about a trilogy. I really enjoyed the third installment in this series and I think it had everything we've grown to love about Finlay Donovan books—quirky characters, mystery and intrigue, and all around FUN. The craziness was there and even though I found the pacing off at points, I was just as into this one as I was the others. If you're looking for some suspense with some LOL funny moments and great characters, why haven't you picked up the Finlay Donovan books yet?!

Thank you to NetGalley, Minotaur Books, and Elle Cosimano for the advanced copy of Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun in exchange for my honest review.

Finlay and Vero are back in action! Was this my favorite of this series? No. Did I still get a kick out of it? You bet! In this installment, Finlay and Vero have to find out who Easy Clean is, and I have to say I definitely didn't expect it to be who it was! (No spoilers)

I have no doubt we will see Finlay and Vero again in another book, based on the way this one ended. I'm definitely looking forward to one mystery in particular being solved.

The Finlay Donovan series has quickly become one of my favorites of all time, I can't wait to see what Cosimano comes up with next!

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun will be on US bookshelves January 31!

This series just gets better and better! Cosimano has figured out the perfect formula for fun, engaging, suspenseful mysteries that leave you wanting more as son as you finish. Finlay and Vero are the dynamic duo who can do it all while caring for two kids, dealing with a stupid ex-husband, and trying to find new love with the guy who might put them both in jail for good.

Come for a mystery, stay for the wacky hijinks.

Elle Cosimano does it again! #finlaydonovanjumpsthegun is a rip roaring ride of a thriller and I can’t wait for the next one!! Between kids, writers block, her nanny and an ex who’s a pain Finlay has every right to be a mess but her and veto manage to keep it all together, mostly. There was some real character development in this third installment of the series and the ending promises some upcoming fun in the next. Thank you to #netgalley and the publisher for this arc to read and review ahead of publication. All opinions are my own.

We have all been patiently waiting for the third installment in the Finlay Donovan series by Elle Cosmano and it does not disappoint! It publishes next month - 1.31.22 so preorder now😎

I recommend reading the first two books before this one if you haven’t already - it will just make your experience reading this one so much richer.

I feel like Finlay and Vero are my friends- and I’ve missed them! I couldn’t wait to see what zany antics they got up to next. If you love stories about girl buddies in crazy and sometimes hilarious situations- then this series is definitely for you. This series sort of reminds me of the movie, TheHeat, with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. Just as in The Heat- you may have to suspend belief for a little. But Cosmano does such a great job of finding creative situations to get these two out of trouble. I loved how we get a better glimpse of Nick, the cop, as a love interest- but the book doesn’t become a romance book which I was thankful for. The story is about Finlay and Vero working to find the identity of EasyClean to get themselves out of hot water with a Russian mobster.

Do they find themselves in even more trouble? Of course they do! Be sure to add this book or this series to your TBR. It will have you giggling and smiling throughout. Highly recommend.

Thank you to @netgalley and @stmartinspress @minotaur_books for this ARC to read and review.

The dynamic duo Finlay and Vero are back again! Mob boss Feliks is calling the shots from prison, Finlay has been given orders to identify, locate and kill the contract killer before the cops find out who it is. The issue is, they have a feeling it may be a cop. Lucky for them, hot cop Nick is running a weeklong citizen's police academy. There’s no better place to investigate the killer and stay safe from Feliks than a place surrounded by cops, or is there?

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is a unique, humorous, action packed and entertaining mystery thriller. Finlay and Vero’s banter is freaking snort out loud hilarious, and it just seems to get better and better. These ladies are messy, imperfect and can laugh at themselves and each other which just enhances the story for me. The character development shines in this book compared to the others. It ends on a wild cliffhanger, and I had to resist the urge of throwing the book at the wall because I need more! I’m anxiously awaiting the fourth book in the series.

Thank you Minotaur books for this arc!

Finlay Donovan jumps the gun by Elle Casimano
⭐⭐⭐/5

I think ... and try not to hate me to much ...but I think this may be my least favorite in the series so far.
I don't exactly know why. But I think its because the whole book feels like filler ... I feel like the situation that started this hilarious comedy is just being dragged on and on , and I don't think this will be the last either .

The book itself just feels like when your playing a video game and you get sucked into a really long side quest.. and your just ready to get back into the main game .

The book carries all the same quirks as the first two- the outlandish over the top dramatics . Which is so much fun for alot of people and will definitely keep you laughing a guttural laugh ; however. If your like me and just lose interest in things that seem dragged out. Then this may not hit the mark for you either .

Thank you @stmartinspress / @minotaur_books and @netgalley for the early copy

This was a fun rump with Finlay and Vero leading the cause. Having multiple deadlines to make and one more dangerous than the others, both enroll in a police academy program to figure out who is Easy Clean. Of course, they get more than they bargain for, and the hilarity ensues in their efforts to meet their commitments with a few obstacles along the way. Brilliantly written, this fast-paced and action-packed drama will keep you in stitches with the antics of the two women and those they encounter. With a supporting cast that includes Nick, Georgia, Steven, Javi, Joey and even Mrs. Haggerty, who all have pivotal roles in how well this story is told and a conclusion that sets up the next book is this delightfully entertaining series.

Finlay Donovan is back in force with her friend and nanny. They're trying to catch bad guys and stay safe at the same time.
Finlay meets a police officer who's handsome and a nice guy all in one. Will it develop into more? Hopefully we'll find him in the next book! I can't wait!

This is a nonstop adventure with just the right amount of twists and turns. A very enjoyable ride.

Thank you Netgalley and xxxxxx.

And especially to Elle Cosimano!

4.5 Stars

Genre: Mystery
Format: 📖
Pub Date: 1.31.2023
Star Rating: ☆☆☆☆

"If you must know, the serving sizes are huge, I went back for seconds, and his biscuits were utterly spectacular."

Finlay Donovan is back! And with this book, she is trying to figure out who "Easy Clean" actually is. Because of that, Finlay and Vero end up in the middle of a Citizens Police Academy, and as you can guess, a lot of hilarity ensues. There's romance, adventure, sneaking around, and moments that made me think, "OMG, how did they get themselves into this ridiculous situation?"

Because this is the third book in the series, I should've given myself a refresher course on the previous two books. The author, Elle Cosimono, makes multiple references to events from Finlay Donovan is Killing It and Finlay Donovan Knocks' Em Dead. While I remember some of them, I feel like part of the story was lost because I couldn't recall what happened from the first book published in early 2021. If you plan to read this, I suggest rereading the other two books.

While I enjoy the romance element of the book, my favorite part is the friendship between Vero and Finlay. They are one another's Ride-or-Dies, and their banter makes up a big reason I love this series. So, whether Finlay ends up with Nick or someone completely different, I hope that her and Vero always have each other's backs.

🤣 Hilarious

I recommend reading the Finlay Donovan series if you enjoyed watching the show Dead to Me.

I just love this series!!

I missed the second book, not sure how I managed that but in any case, Finlay and Vero continue their crazy shenanigans in this third installment. I laughed out loud several times much to the chagrin of my husband who was trying to sleep.

This book is a fun, entertaining read and I was happy to learn from this book that there will be a 4th installment!!

I do finally have the second book so I'll be all caught up when the 4th one comes out.

Thank you NetGalley, St. Martins Press and Minotaur Books for this digital arc!!

I very rarely read romantic comedies, VERY rarely, but I am loving the Finlay Donovan series! She's an author and single mom who finds herself in the most hilarious situations. I'm neither an author or single mother but somehow I identify with her and love reading about her antics! Highly recommend this series even if you don't normally read comedies. It's nice to take a breather every now and then from the "serious" books, especially true crime!

Finlay Donovan and her side-kick nanny, Vero, need to locate a contract killer (Easy Clean) for mob boss Feliks before the cops do. But Finlay and Vero suspect the contract killer is part of the police force. So they join a citizen’s police academy, which is the perfect cover to gather new material for Finlay’s new book, and hide from the mob. At the same time, they figure out the killer's identity.

What I love:
✨Finlay and Vero’s banter - quick-witted, sarcastic, down-right fun! I could listen to these two talk to each other all day! 😂
✨Good mystery - I did not guess Easy Clean’s identity.
✨Romance - Hot Cop Nick is back! 🔥 Julian also makes an appearance, so the love triangle hasn't completely dissolved.
✨Cliffhanger- the setup for book 4 is brilliant! I can't wait for the next installment.

I would highly recommend reading this series in order to appreciate the well-developed characters. The stories are full of mishaps, great comedy, and snarky banter. Read this series now if you need a stress reliever.

Thank you to the publisher for my copy - all opinions are my own.

This is, hands down and without question, one of my favorite series of all time. OF ALL TIME. I just cannot get enough of Finlay and Vero's misadventures together. Each book I worry that it is going to be too over the top and ridiculous to be believable and somehow Elle Cosimano manages to keep it between the lines enough to have me fully hooked, addicted and desperate for the next book by the time I am flipping the final pages.

In this installment, Finlay and Vero pick right back up where we left them in the last cliffhanger - stuck between a rock and a hard place, in debt to a man they have no interest in being involved with, and realizing the magnitude of the mess Vero left behind in her previous life. Things are heating up with hot cop Nick, and Finlay is smack dab in the middle of it all, trying to hold the threads of her increasingly complicated life together.

No spoilers but this edition is still laugh out loud hilarious, endearingly heartwarming with even more gruff, rough and tumble characters to enjoy. The mess Finlay originally found herself in is the criminal underworld gift that just keeps on giving to her, as she keeps trying to work out exactly how to extract herself without getting herself or anyone else killed...... again.

Every single book leaves me desperate for this series to be turned into a tv series (this is the next Dead to Me and I won't be convinced otherwise). Every single book leaves me ready for more of Finlay's adventures. I loved every single page, which I devoured in one afternoon. Perfection, honestly. If you aren't into this series yet, GET ON IT. And if you are, get ready for this drop come January!

I liked this one!! The second one took a bit of a dip for me, but this one brought it back. Vero is still hilarious and I love her very much. The drama felt more realistic in this one and I liked the somewhat closed door feel it had with Finlay and Vero being at the police academy most of the book. This is just a fun series and I’m hoping to see more books from it in the future! (That twist at the end with who the dirty cop was!!) can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

I haven’t been this excited for an ARC since I got approved for Elizabeth Acevedo’s most recent novel (if you know me, that’s saying something). I adore this series, and I really enjoyed this third installment. The characters are unique and vibrant, the plot is always moving forward, and the romance is just enough. It felt like this novel is inching us toward the conclusion of the series, but I’m sure I will love whatever comes next!

Finlay Donovan Jumps The Gun is the third book in Elle Cosimano’s slapstick mystery series. I recommend reading the series in order to fully understand what is going on. The first two books are Finlay Donovan is Killing It (#1) and Finlay Donovan Knocks ‘Em Dead (#2).

Finlay and her nanny/accountant, Vero, are up to their usual antics while trying to discover the identity of a person who takes on hit jobs under the internet name, Easy Clean. Not only did Easy Clean try to kill Finlay’s ex-husband, but he or she is also trying to blackmail a Russian-American mob boss. The mob boss wants Finlay to id Easy Clean in exchange for paying off one of Vero’s debts. Since Finlay and Vero believe Easy Clean is a current or former police officer, they agree to attend a week-long Citizen’s Police Academy. One of Finlay’s love interests just happens to be in charge of the academy. Sparks fly in more ways than one.

As with the first two books, this one ends with a cliffhanger. I am glad to know that the dynamic duo will be back again for round four.

4-Stars. This novel will be published on January 31, 2023. Thank you to Minotaur Books and NetGalley for my advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲…was it a charm?! Jury is out.

I loved Book 1 of Finlay - the audio had me laughing out loud countless times over the madcap adventures of Finn and Vero.

I enjoyed Book 2 as their problems with the Russian mob and Findlay’s ex continued.

Book 3 was entertaining buuuuut it required more memory from me than I had at my fingertips about previous books + just like the fictional author Finlay, it needed more steam and romance with her love interest.

And the ending?? While there was some resolution, it wasn’t enough to satisfy me. Aaargh, cliffhangers are not my fave.

Was I entertained? Sure. Will I read book 4? Maybe.
