Another great book from this author. This series is hilarious and action packed making it seem like its a great comedy action movie.

Oh, Finlay and Vero. I thought they got themselves into enough trouble in the first 2 books in this series, but this one takes the cake so far.
Ok, I loved the first book in this series, and enjoyed the 2nd one. But this one, I thought was just ok. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, but not as much as the others. I did find myself laughing and chuckling at the banter back and forth between Finlay & Vero and the situations they found themselves in. Vero still definitely takes the cake for ride or die chicks. But the setting and other characters just didn’t do it for me and there was almost too much going on at times. I’m also all for a “will they won’t they” when it comes to love interests, but not when it drags on for the whole book. There were parts of this one I enjoyed, but definitely not my favorite. 3.5 ⭐️
A huge thank you to Netgalley, Minotaur Books, and Elle Cosimano for this e-arc. Check out Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun on its pub date 1/31/23!

This book is similar to the other books in the series. Madcap hijinks with a side of adventure and romance. It's nothing particularly serious or meaty. It's the type of book that I like to refer to as "mental junk-food". No thought required, nothing I ever feel particularly drawn into, but a good break when I need to escape into some nonsense.
I'd like to thank Netgalley for an ARC, opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for this earc
This book was absolutely hilarious. I feel like the more I read about Finlay and her adrentures, the more I love her
She’s an absolute mess but that’s exactly what makes her so relatable. Well not people always dying around her but the awkwardness. I love how she is always trying to do her best and almost always goes wrong. Even with everything happening in her life, I mean she is involuntarily working for a mob boss, she is still trying to help so many people in her life, including Vero.
And then there is Nick, *heart eyes*, who Fin is trying to stay away from for his own good. I am soooo happy we finally saw them together in this one. Their slow burn was killing me. I just really need them to sit down and talk about everything, which obviously won’t happen with that ending. I have mention the shower scene, because Nick with baby Zach on his bare chest, *heart eyes*.
Regarding the mystery, I knew Charlie was a bad guy pretty early on, I just wasn’t sure how he was involved. But I did not see Stu coming as a bad guy at all and I love that. I kept guessing all the way till the end.
Overall, this series is awesome and I need more books.

A silly book. Reminds me of I Love Lucy when she got in and out of trouble and how funny it was. However the trouble here is murder and mayhem. Light easy reading if you want comedy

I want nothing more than to read this immediately! I need NetGalley to come through, I can’t wait until January for this book!
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the advanced reading copy of Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun by Elle Cosimano. This is the most excited I’ve ever been for an advanced readers copy of a book ever!
The first novel Finlay Donovan is killing it follows the main character Finlay. Finlay finds her life slowly spiraling when she is left to juggle parenting two young children, keeping up with a busy house, paying bills, and working her author job. All after the news that her husbands affair with their real estate agent is turning into his second marriage. Finlay’s life becomes even more chaotic when her next book pitch is overheard and misunderstood by another customer in the coffee shop. From there Finlay is joined with her nanny/accountant, Vero, on a high stakes rollercoaster ride.
If you haven’t already this is a book series you have to pick up! If you’ve read the first two books in the series and loved them and are hesitant (like I was) to pick this book up in fear of it being a let down. Do not let that stop you! I wish I would have read this sooner and closer together with the previous two books. These are easily my favourite books of the year! Maybe even all time! I want more Finlay and Vero antics. I just hope all future instalments are as good as these three and that Elle Cosimano doesn’t miss the mark with future books (no pun intended).

Forever a Finlay (& Vero) fan. FINLAY DONOVAN JUMPS THE GUN is an excellent addition to the series and I am still completely hooked. I can't flip the pages fast enough! This is exactly why I read - I love to escape into these over-the-top, nearly-caught, entertaining storylines. This book was nail biting and laugh out loud.
Finlay and Vero's relationship is fun, hilarious, real, messy - it's a lot of fun to explore and learn more about in this book. Also, hot cop Nick, and a love interest for Vero, made this very entertaining. One of my favourite things in JUMPS THE GUN is the new location of the Police Academy. I thought it made it interesting for the story because all of the characters were right there. Highly recommend and hoping for a book four!!
I am so grateful to have been able to read this in advance! Thank you Elle Cosimano and St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books, for the digital copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

These books are a riot. So over-the-top fun and silly. This series continues to be one of my new favorites. A complete wacky action adventure mystery featuring Ms. Finlay and crew contending with loan-sharks, gangsters, crooked cops, and corrupt lawyers while still trying to get an update on her love life. I'm so impressed with how Cosimano makes all of the crazy into a terrific light-hearted mystery. Here's hoping for many more stories in this series!

I am a huge fan of the Finlay Donovan series, so I was delighted to get an advance copy of the latest installment. I have to admit that it took me a second to remember the events of the previous novel, as this is a direct continuation of that story and not just a separate adventure using the same characters (a la the Stephanie Plum books). But once I jogged my memory, I was off on yet another quirky, hilarious trip with Finlay and her friends. A great next chapter in this delightful book series.

Thank you @minotaur_books for the e-arc of one of my most anticipated releases!
Here’s what I loved:
• the new setting
• more of the same lovely cast and
new friends!
• the stakes are getting higher
• more swoony romance
• twists and turns
I love this series! Finlay is such a fantastic character and she pulls you into her world. How can so many unfortunate (but somewhat hilarious) things happen to one person? I’m here for the ride and I can’t wait for the next book and scared of how it will end.

This is one of my favorite Finlay Donovan books yet - I swear this series gets better with every installment! I've gotta say... Steven is on my last nerve though. The friendships, chaos, and absurdity will continue to keep me coming back for more!

Absolutely loved this entire series and the newest addition to the series did not dissapoint! I loved the setting of the police training academy and watching Finlay stumble her way through mishap after mishap and maybe finding love along the way? Incredible!

Thank you to the publisher for a free eARC via Netgalley!
Our favorite dynamic duo, Finlay Donovan and Vero, are back at it again in FINLAY DONOVAN JUMPS THE GUN! Elle Cosimano delivers again with witty characters and a mystery that'll keep you intrigued all wrapped up in a hilarious package. I couldn't help but smile as these two pals worked to solve the cliffhanger that book two left us on. I loved the character development we got from Nick, and really liked the setting in the police academy.
My only complaint about this book was that there were just a few too many characters and not enough distinction between them. Maybe it's because it has been nearly a year since I read the second one, but I had a hard time distinguishing between the multiple cops that had side stories. I would've benefitted from a small summary in the first chapter of where things left off, and who was who.
All in all, a great third book in this series, and I can't wait for the next!

I greatly enjoy this series. It’s fun and it’s tense. But you have to suspend a lot of belief. Some of the situations are too convenient… or really, too inconvenient.
Regardless of the implausibility or the ridiculousness the characters find themselves in, it’s too enjoyable to really be bothered by.
Looking forward for the next one, since this one ends on another cliffhanger.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance ecopy of this title. Finlay is back at it again. She is still hot for Nick, but has uncompleted business with the Russian Mob. She and her erstwhile nanny find themselves at the Citizen's Police Academy where they think they can learn information that will end the connection to the Russian mob. The antics are madcap; I worried a bit about evil ex Steve trying to worm back to Finlay, but in the end, it was wrapped up in a (sorta) neat little package, but I'm hope Finlay will end up in another predicament to warrant book 4!

There is no doubt that I am continuing to enjoy the antics of Finlay and Vero. This installment was fun and had so many laugh out loud moments. This pretty much entirely takes place in a police academy and this fact made it more interesting with all the police personnel around them all the time. If you think Finlay and Vero might have slowed down after their previous experiences, trust me, things only get wilder than earlier. They both are simply unstoppable.
I will absolutely be happy to read any number of books based on Finlay, without a doubt!!

While I liked this one better than the 2nd book, I'm happy to see Finlays adventures come to a close. I dont think book 2 or 3 quite captured the magic that the first one did. I will look out for other work by Elle Cosimano

Finlay and Vero continue their shenanigans in book three, yet again blurring the line between right and wrong as they tangle themselves deeper into the web of deceit. Who is EasyClean? And will Feliks get to them before they can get to him?
This was such a fun third installment. I really appreciated the change up of scenery - taking Finlay and Vero and putting them directly within the detective's grips in the police academy. This not only upped the ante on them finding out the truth before getting caught, but also allowed Finlay to be in close proximity to Nick. Something I think we have all been waiting for! Continually I find myself rooting for Finlay to succeed, and am already looking forward to book four after that cliffhanger of an ending!
Overall I don't think this one skipped a beat. I feel like the series is flowing effortlessly and well intertwined. Having read them so far apart though, I did feel like I was missing some of the finer details and found myself having to think hard to recall. The prompts are there throughout the book, but there is a high amount of dependence on the reader remembering what they mean. I found this slightly distracting, but not enough to detract from enjoying the book itself!
Thank you to Minotaur Books/St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review. Full review to be posted on my IG @manis.and.manuscripts close to pub day!

If you haven’t read this series yet, you need to! These books are such a fun and wild ride! Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun picks up right where Knocks ‘Em Dead ended. Almost the entire book takes place at a citizen’s police academy that Vero and Finlay are enrolled in, which I thought was a nice change of scenery!
Like the previous books, there are so many twists and turns, and it is hilarious to see what crazy shenanigans Finlay and Vero get themselves into. This series always reminds me of the Netflix show, Dead to Me, which I love! This book is fast-paced and laugh-out-loud funny.
Once again, this one ends on a cliffhanger that leaves you impatiently waiting for book #4.
Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for the advanced copy. Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun comes out on January 31st!

Finlay Donovan and her nanny Vero are still trying to fulfil their debt to Russian mob boss Feliks. But it's looking like the elusive "Easyclean" may be a dirty cop. Vero is also trying to sell a bullet-riddled Aston Martin to help pay off a big debt. Oh, and Finlay is having problems with her latest manuscript. Needing to get away from home, Finlay & Vero agree to sign up for the citizen's police academy which is being run by Finlay's detective friend Nick. Forensics, firearms training and hands-on homicide detective work gives Finlay and Vero the perfect cover to question the instructors and help confirm their suspicions about Easyclean's ID, raise the needed money & deal with on-going family issues with Finlay's ex-husband Stephen.
This was another hilarious and enjoyable entry in the Finlay Donovan series.
I received a digital ARC from Netgalley and Minotaur Books. All opinions are my own.
