The hijinx of Finlay Donavan are back and so is her cast of characters. Finlays past continues to haunt her when Feliks blackmails her to find out who EasyClean is in exchange for getting rid of a body she accidentally murdered. This eventually leads her and Vero to attend a police academy citizen training program with Nick and his other cop buddies and the race is on to solve the mystery of EasyClean.
I’ve read the entire series so far and I’ve enjoyed them all. Not sure where I’d rank this one in terms of my favourite but it was good. I would say the ending was particularly enjoyable and the pace picked up a lot near the end. As the mystery was unraveling and everything was layed out it really make me think back how I enjoyed the build up. Vero is still one of my favourite characters and a book with her as a main character could and probably should happen. If you haven’t checked out any of the books in this series yet I suggest you do sooner than later

I thought this was our last Finlay Donovan but it absolutely IS NOT! This left it open-ended and I can't wait for the next one!!
After the second in the series not quite having the spark I was looking for, I was a little cautious with this one. But no, this was everything I'd hoped it would be! Finlay, our author turned assumed assassin, has stumbled her way into another situation that she needs to find her way out of. We have a similar cast of Nick, the kids, Steven and Vero. But finally, Finlay seems to be finding herself again. Even though she's pulled along by things out of her control, she's starting to find her control and starting to decide what she wants. She makes some decisions in this one that definitely bordered on legal, but Finlay was deciding what she was risking and what she wasn't. I loved her new found strength and her interesting resolve. There were still some great giggly moments and a few to swoon at.
And the conclusion was great! STILL the same bad guys but an all new round too! And we found out so many new things, my head is still spinning. I really hope we don't have to wait too long for the next one! I'm so excited for it!!
A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

✨Book Review✨
Finlay Donovan Jumps The Gun by Elle Cosimano
3/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pub Date: Jan 31, 2023
Thank you netgalley and St Martins Press for my eARC copy of this read for an honest review.
Finlay and Vero are at it again in the third installment of this series. And the scenarios keep getting even more wild than the last!
I do have to be honest and say that this one is my least favorite of the other two. The best part for me is the banter between Finlay and Vero. Each of them are well developed that make it a fun and cozy read.
The things they seemed to be caught up in were just to unbelievable for me to fully enjoy, that would be my only complaint but I do understand that that may be the whole point. And why it’s so likable. It just didn’t do it for me this time 😶 It just felt a bit dragged on.
I would still recommend to those who like a cozy, funny, mystery. A little hesitant on whether to continue with the series but part of me does want to see how it all finally ends. .
I am however, excited to see what other projects Elle Cosimano may have in the future!
That is all and as always happy reading! 💕

I really enjoyed this book, just as I did the other books in the series. It is such a chaotic novel, but I loved every second. I would recommend this series to anyone.

Welcome to another one of my unpopular opinions. Finlay and Vero are up to the same shenanigans as in previous two books, and the book definitely ends with a set up to book 4. I just feel like there should be a bit more growth in the characters and storyline by now , and all the coincidences are just to much - how small a town is this ?
✔️ I enjoyed the relationship between Vero and Javi and some of the smaller characters like Cam and Mrs what’s her name
🔘 the setting of a citizen’s policy academy seemed a little too ludicrous and kinda silly to me e
Have I g said all that, I’m still looking forward to book 4 🤷♀️

This series is amazing! It has everything! Characters you’ll grow to love, comedy, mystery, friendship and romance. I wish Finlay Donovan was a RL person so we could be BFF’s!! I give all of these books 5 stars!!!

The third installment of Finlay Donovan was just as charming and humorous as the first two. I loved the police training camp as a setting and getting to know more about Vero’s background. If there were a million books in this series, I’d read all of them!

I just love this series so much. Finlay, Vero and their shenanigans crack me up. It was thoroughly entertaining and was just the lighthearted mystery I needed. I didn’t know if this series would keep going and I am delighted to know this wasn’t the end. Bring on more Finlay (and more Nick 😉). Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me a copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

Another day, another Finlay Donovan mystery. As the hunt for EasyClean continues, Finlay and Vero find themselves stuck in the middle of the problem once again and time is running out. Feliks might be behind bars, but that doesn't mean that the threat isn't still there. As a new police academy boot camp opens to the public, the team figures out this is their best shot at uncovering EasyClean, a week surrounded by cops, what could go wrong. Although most choices made by the duo left me in shock and wanting to yell at them, I can't get over how entertaining the story is.
If you haven't read the first two, I highly suggest that you do as this one does not read as a standalone. The author does an amazing job adding in minor details to remind you what happens in the first two, but you'd need to read them in order to get the full picture. The first two books I had read via audiobook, so it took me awhile to get into this one!
If you're into realistic and probable plots, this one is a little far out there, it seems like more things were piled up, and the plot of this one got a little muddled for me! I enjoyed the open-ending, for hopefully, another Finlay and Vero adventure.

Let’s just keep this series going. I’m here for another Finlay Donovan book. I really enjoy the authors writing style and she always keeps me pleasantly entertained!

3.5 stars, rounded up.
I don't know if it's because I typically listen to these on audio, or if I'm just becoming bored with the series, but I didn't like this one as much as the first two. It just seemed way too far-fetched as I was reading. We are really supposed to believe random people can participate in a cop training sleepaway camp? Lol. The crazy antics were part of the fun for the first two, but it didn't work as well for me here. Of course I loved Vero and Finlay. I had no idea who easyclean was, so that did keep me guessing. Overall, I'm glad I read it, but I'll give it a try on audio and see if that changes my mind at all. I was a little disappointed that it ended in a cliffhanger. I think I was ready for some closure as I'm not a huge series reader normally. I will probably still read the fourth though since I did like the first two so much.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc!

Finlay Donovan is no stranger to unintended criminal mishaps. She and her partner-in-crime accidentally borrow and destroy a super expensive luxury car in an attempt to save her ex-husband life. Now she’s indebted to the Russian mob and her only hope to come out of this alive might have to involve her budding romance with a hot cop who has no idea how much criminal trouble Finlay has accumulated. I really enjoy this series (this being the 3rd installment). Finlay Donovan is the new Stephanie Plum. Can’t wait until the next book in the series.

I missed Finlay and Vero's antics!!
This part in the series wasn't my favorite because there was a bit less action and less mothering humor, but I still was entertained!
I love the banter between characters--especially Vero's snide remarks.
There were a few parts that sat uncomfortably with me though. For instance, was it necessary to have that guy wear a thong as a humorous bit? Also it's kinda obvious this is a pro-cop book, so that's whatever.

This was an easy and fun read. I enjoyed the dynamics between Finlay and Vero. Always getting into close calls while having witty banter. Unfortunately I forgot a lot of the ins and outs of the first two books so I was confused about a majority of the plot. But I was still intrigued and enjoyed guessing who the bad guy (guys) were. I also called who Easyclean was immediately. All in all this was fun and I’ll be interested in what happens.

This is my new favourite series! This one had me laughing out loud and wishing for more at the end. Cannot wait for more Finlay and Vera, but hopefully less Steven and more Nick in the next one.

This is the third book in the series and I thought it was so much fun to read. Elle Cosimano’s writing is clever and witty. I love the relationship between Vero and Finlay. They have such a unique friendship and I like reading about all the crazy situations they get themselves in. There is mystery, some romance and I enjoyed the new characters added in. I did feel like this one started to lose my attention at certain parts and the setting was a little strange. Overall, it was an enjoyable read!

I don’t know if I’ll ever get tired about what Finlay and Vero are getting up to!
Finlay Donovan Jumps The Gun is entertaining, and full of action and “research”. I really enjoyed trying to figure out who EasyClean is, because the clues pointed to a few different people.
And we definitely get more of hot cop Nick this time, and I hope we keep getting more of him!
The only thing I didn’t like, is Steven, who is obviously up to something.. and as much as I dislike him, I need to know what he’s up to.
I cannot wait to see what shenanigans Finlay gets up to next! Thank you to St. Martins Press for sending me an advanced digital copy via NetGalley in exchange for review.

Let me preface this by saying Finlay Donovan is one of my favorite series - and I screamed when I got approved to read this. Finlay and Vero keep me constantly laughing - then add in the police academy in Jumps the Gun - and wow! a new and even more exciting layer to this dynamic duo. Each book gets better and better and this book may be my favorite yet - The hijinks and mayhem felt less over the top and the stakes could never be higher. The slow burn was achieved and many questions were answered... while unlocking new exciting ones. I cannot wait to see where book four takes us! And can we please see Finlay and her friends come to life already in the planned tv adaptation?! There were plenty of scenes in this book that would play out so well on screen!
Thank you to St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books & NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this digital ARC

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun was just as dynamic and enjoyable as the first two books in the series. I loved the quirky humor mixed with a page-turning mystery. The humor in these books is what keep me coming back for more. The romance is nice, but TBH i could use more spice :) I definitely plan to keep reading Finlay Donovan books. They are Stephanie Plum 2.0, and I am here for it.

Finlay and Vero, these two are killing me. Killing me with laughter, I mean. How much more trouble can they get into? A lot more, apparently. This is the third installment of the series and it’s just as good, if not better than the first two.
Finlay owes a favor to a Russian mob boss and Vero owes a huge sum of money to a loan shark. What to do, what to do? How about signing up for a Citizen’s Academy weeklong camp where they can track down the dirty cop they believe is “EasyClean”, a contract killer sought by mob boss, Felix Zhirov? Finlay figures she can also finish her book there, easy peasy. Of course, nothing is easy for these two. Hilarity ensues.
I’m completely hooked on this series and all it's characters. I cannot wait for the fourth book! If you haven’t read the first two books, please do so. Then grab yourself some snacks and settle in somewhere cozy to read this hysterically entertaining novel.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for this ARC.
