This series slays. The relationships continue to evolve, and the mystery unfolds in such a satisfying way. The balance of humor, action and reality is just right,

Thank you St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books and NetGalley for this eARC!
I am such a fan of Finlay Donovan and her world, so when I was granted this eARC I was over the moon! The third Finlay Donovan installment did NOT disappoint. I loved getting a further glimpse into Vero's past and how that incorporated itself as a secondary plot to figuring out "Easy Clean's " identity. Characters from the past intersect with new characters and the results are hilarious. Romances get steamy and the suspense and laughs keep rolling. Just when you think the story is wrapped up a new twist hits at the end and I absolutely cannot wait until the next one comes out! Thank you Elle Cosimano for giving readers the world of Finlay Donovan!

As soon as I finish a Finlay Donovan installment, I already look forward to the next one! In the her latest novel, Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun, Finlay finds herself smack dab in the middle of an awkwardly messy situation!
Just like the previous two novels, Elle Cosimano brilliantly creates a cozy mystery with laugh out loud situations that strangely enough are completely relatable! I have truly adored this series and I am hoping beyond hope that Elle Cosimano keeps this addictive series going! If you are searching for to a novel to wash away the winter doldrums than this 5 star read it the perfect selection for you!

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun by Elle Cosimano is the third installment in one of the most hilarious, fun series I've read before. Finlay Donovan continues to get into hilarious situations, but this time directly with the Russian mob, and, of course, her cute detective. It's full of fun twists and surprising events throughout as you read about the accidental hitwoman.

This is book three of the series and though it’s capable of standing on its own I highly recommend starting at the beginning, with Finlay Donovan Is Killing It.
I am a huge fan of Finlay Donovan and have really enjoyed the books in this series. However, I usually avoid series because I have a difficult time remembering everything that happened in the past. That being said, as new books in this series are added, the complex plot points increase as well.
While I enjoyed this one, I felt slightly disconnected from the action, as very little recap is provided to the reader. I’m sure this would have rated higher for me if I had read all three books in quick succession.

This was my least favorite of the series so far but still a good read. I love the relationship between Finlay and Vero. This book had a few twists but they could have been revealed better. It was less plot driven and more focused on the budding “will they, won’t they” relationship between Nick and Finlay. The ending set this up for book #4 and I’m not sure if I’ll keep reading. 🤷♀️

Finlay and Vero are at it again with this hilariously funny story where they enter a citizens police academy run by Nick, the hot cop from previous books. The duo is tasked by Feliks (the mobster) with finding "EasyClean" or risk death. Will they be able to find the identity of EasyClean while participating in firearms courses, forensic training and researching for Finlay's book or will EasyClean find them first?
I thought this was a quick and mostly entertaining read. The story picks up where the last one left off, which can be a little difficult because I have a hard time remembering some details from previous books. That being said, I love this duo (Finlay and Vero). I love their strong personalities (GIRL POWER) and they made me laugh so hard. I love the idea of a citizen's police academy where this duo has some experience with being a criminal. It made for some funny moments. As always I am looking forward to the next book.

I love Finlay and am always rooting for her but this book left me so frustrated. It felt like there was no real resolution to any of Finlay and Vero's problems and then the book ended on a major cliff hanger. I get that we are setting up for the next book in the series but I couldn't help but feel like poor Finlay deserves better. Will I be reading the next one the minute it becomes available? Of course.

I laughed. I gasped. I swooned.
This book is hilarious and action packed and romantic all at the same time and I loved every page of it.

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun by Elle Cosimano is a fast-moving, often funny mystery full of disparate and desperate characters and lots of action. Finlay (known as Finn) has a troubled past, a ex-husband, and a policewoman sister. The book has plenty of romance and attraction and questionable characters. Finn and her baby sitter, Vero, are fearless and always trying to solve the latest mysteries and threats while looking after Finn's two children. Fearless Finn and Vero manage to inadvertently do away with some of the threatening people in their world as they manage to save some of the others.
Thanks to Net Galley and McMillan Publishing for the opportunity to read this book.

I think my favorite book in the series so far is the second one, but this is a solid follow-up and had enough of a cliffhanger to make me want to read the fourth book. With each book the secondary characters get more interesting. I feel like these books are a really fun combination of contemporary women's lit and the thriller genre. I'm excited for the fourth one to come out.
Thank you, NetGalley for the ARC of this book.

This is a fun, funny light read. Join Finlay and Vero as they are forced to do a job for the Russian mob, finding a mysterious killer who targeted her ex husband and as they try to escape a loan shark.. This is book 3 of the series, but it is pretty easy to jump in with this one. Just suspend belief and enjoy the adventure and romance

Finlay and Vero are back at it for another round of chaos and calamity. I loved Finaly Donovan is Killing It (book 1) and thought Finlay Donovan Knocks ‘em Dead (book 2) was a lot of fun. I didn’t necessarily need a third book, but Finlay’s hijinks are always so entertaining that I was thrilled to get my hands on an eARC.
As much as I love Finlay and Vero, book 3 felt a smidge unnecessary. Most of the story takes place at a citizen’s police academy (basically sleepaway camp for adults to learn about cop stuff) which was kind of odd. Things start to go off the rails and there’s really only so much madness these women can get away with. I don’t mind suspending disbelief – I read fiction to avoid real life, thank you very much – but this was a bit too over the top and not as hilarious as the rest of the series. Also, I think I found FDJTG less enjoyable because there were a lot of (necessary) details that had to be recapped from the earlier books.
If you love this delightful duo and you’re in the mood for a light and funny murder mystery, definitely pick this up. If you found book 2 slightly underwhelming and too unrealistic, maybe don’t rush to read book 3. Based on the ending, it does look the series will continue into a 4th book.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book; all opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martins Press for allowing me to be an early reader.

This is the 3rd book in the Finlay Donovan series. The first one was fun and it kept me turning the pages. The protagonist was someone I could cheer for. The 2nd book was average and this one… the third one—well I struggled to keep turning the pages. Reading this book felt like a chore instead of a joy. The characters are getting less likable and it’s hard to even root for Finlay. I don’t think I will read on in this series if it continues.

I just love this series! The relationship between Finlay and Vero is the absolute best. This third installment of the series does not disappoint. The tone and feel of the series has been consistent throughout, and I love learning more about each character and how they think. There is also so much more to learn about them, as the secrets continue to expose themselves. I haven't enjoyed a series so much in years. I highly recommend this series to everyone who enjoys a well rounded mystery with some thrilling moments, a little romance and even some humor. I want to see this series as a television series! I hope it happens!

This was the 3rd installment in the Finlay Donovan series. These books are just a fun and crazy ride. This book was my least favorite of the three but I still enjoyed it. It somehow managed to be extremely chaotic yet still feel like filler. I'm excited for a 4th book in this series! 3.5 stars

4 wild antic stars
This is the third book in the series and best read in order for the full escapist experience. These books border on over-the-top entertainment, but I love them and eagerly read the newest saga and hijinks of Finlay and her sidekick/nanny/accountant Vero.
Finlay is a writer, and her life seems to mimic her books – or vice versa. She’s got two adorable children and trouble seems to follow them all, how fast can a toddler get away from you? She’s on a book deadline and a report back to a mob boss deadline. Said mobster is Feliks and even though he’s behind bars, he demands that Finlay identify a killer for hire.
Finlay’s ex-husband has agreed to take the kids for a week so that Finlay and Vero can go to a police camp for average citizens to try to uncover the contract killer. It helps that the camp is run by hot cop Nick. There are some hilarious escapades as both Finlay and Vero have secrets and people after them. I wondered if Finlay and Nick would finally confess their feelings in this book (and act on them) and if Finlay could settle her debt with the mob.
There’s a cliffhanger ending and I’m already anxiously awaiting the next installment, write faster Elle Cosimano.

If you enjoyed the first two books in this series, then I think you'll also love this one! It has the same dramatic, over-the-top hijinks that Finlay and Vero keep finding themselves in, with that lighthearted humor. This book managed to surprise me by the end though, so it also has a good self-contained mystery! But the story is never done and I kinda love that these books will just keep coming.
As with the previous book, we get some answers here but a whole lotta new questions also come up. This one is more plot-focused; I think Finlay got a little development (I will say, I'm glad the love triangle is done now) and growth, but I also wish we got more from Vero! I enjoyed her scenes with Javi, but she's still a tough character to figure out. I want more of her back story and her motivations!
If you read this book for what it is, it's an easy break from reality that keeps you laughing and guessing and rooting for Finlay despite all the messes she gets herself into. As long as Elle Cosimano keeps writing these books, you can count on me reading them. :)

I really enjoyed this series so far, and was eager to read the third installment. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy it as much as the first two. The story never really wraps up at the end, which bothers me. I would have preferred the story to fully wrap up, and for someone new to happen in the next book as it tends to drag on and on. There definitely were the usual funny moments and I really do love the characters which is why I still gave it 3 stars but the storyline fell flat for me. It was extremely unrealistic and the whole police academy just seemed a little hokey. That being said....I will still read the next book when it comes out, since I still want to know what is going to happen.

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is the third installment in the Finlay Donovan series, and it didn't disappoint. Full of drama, laughs, and some romance, this series always leaves me wanting more and I can't wait to see what's next for Finlay and Vero!
